I came to Anthony for my first tattoo. I was referred to Anthony at 27 Tattoo by a co-worker after seeing his in progress sleeve and somehow instantly knew I needed it done with him. I had done a lot of research with many artists at different studios around the Phoenix valley but never felt 100% comfortable with any of them or their artwork. None that I fell in love with at least. I researched Anthony's work and saw how detailed and complex his hand was. His line work is meticulous and the creativity I saw was endless. I met with him after setting up a consultation and shared what I wanted. After a few months, it was the day of the appointment. The way Anthony works, he does not show what he has drawn up for you until the day you come in to get it done. I was nervous beyond belief to see what he came up with and if I would even like it. I told myself I had to trust him with all of the experience he has. The moment he showed it to me I knew I was right to trust him. Anthony is quick with his hand yet careful. The outline was finished under 2 hours and the shading was done another day about the same time. He was patient with me and reassured me as he explained what he was doing every time we switched needles. His workplace and hands work like a surgeon's office. I felt comfortable with the cleanliness and refreshed by his professionalism. Since then, I have referred everyone I know looking for an artist to go to Anthony and anyone else at the studio. I was VERY excited and even more excited on the 16th, when they replied and said they were interested and gave me more details on their availability... Fast forward almost 4 weeks and 2 follow up emails later, no reply... I understand covid probably makes the process much longer but almost a full month of no communication leads me to believe the artist is not interested nor courteous enough to email me back to tell me they've changed their mind. First time at this location; it's super clean, professional, and friendly. All a huge plus! I came here because I follow Frankie (she was formerly at another shop when I first went to her), and just got another piece done by her. Frankie has mad skills, talent, and is one of the most humble and attentive artists I've worked with - I believe I've gone thru 7-8 by now. Hands down she's the only one I'll get my work done by from now on, even if she moved to another state, I'd fly there. No joke. In the last 5 months Frankie has done a cover up for me (getting someone to do a cover up isn't easy, they either don't respond or want to go in another direction), fixed/finished another piece that someone else did a half-assed job on, and now a full rib cage design. I don't say it lightly when I say, she is the best! Frankie listens to what you want, super thoughtful and detail oriented in her designs, and makes suggestions but isn't aggressive about them. I reached out to him because it seemed like it was right up his alley with his other work and the studio popped up when i was searching for black and grey dot work. Apryl is an absolutely amazing tattoo artist. She did both tattoos on my right arm, first designing my Sewing machine tribute to my mother. I basically came to Apryl and said, "I want a sewing machine." She asked me a bunch of questions, took a tracing of my arm, and what felt like one day, but might have been longer, she had designed a tattoo that I get compliments on every single day. Her imagination came alive while designing it, taking my few "wants" and creating a piece I hadn't even dreamed could be real. I LOVE my tattoo. The second tattoo she designed was a tribute to my grandmother, a tiered cake, and she designed it to fit on the inside of my right arm, right along with the sewing machine. You would NEVER know they were done on different days. They fit together perfectly. Apryl has such an amazing passion for her work, and pays such great attention to detail. Sometimes to this day I find tiny flourishes on my tattoos that I didn't notice. You can feel that she loves what she does, which is just what you want in a Tattoo artist. Oh tattoos...why do you hurt so good? So I just moved from California and away from my usual tattoo artist (who is great, BTW. If you're ever in San Diego and want some ink, stalk my profile and find out who I got most of my work done from) and I wanted a piece done before I started my job out here. I contacted Apryl via email about setting up a consultation about what I wanted, and upon being in the shop and taking a look at her work, I went ahead and put down a deposit to get it done. I was super duper lucky in that she had a cancellation so I ended up getting an appointment the same week (SCORE!) Apryl is super professional, has great "tattoo table-side" manners and does PHENOMENAL work. I never thought I'd cheat on my other tattoo artist but I was totally wrong (sorry other dude). I went to Blake to get a tattoo of my cat's face. It was my first tattoo, so I was a bit nervous, but I could see how knowledgeable Blake was so that made me feel a lot more comfortable. During the tattoo he made conversation with my husband and I to take my mind off the feeling of the tattoo while it was happening. When the tattoo was finished it looked AMAZING! After giving a lot of thought to what my second tattoo should be, I decided to come to 27 Tattoo to get it done because of it's location, and stellar reviews. The shop is conveniently located in the urban downtown area, and is adjacent to the Skyline Loft apartment complex. Upon entrance to my first visit to the studio, I was treated with hospitality, and assisted immediately. Apryl, one of the studio owners, booked my appointment, and was very helpful in giving me a price estimate for the piece that I anticipated getting. From that first visit alone, I was already satisfied with peace of mind that I was in good hands, with experienced artists. Prior to and on the day of my appointment, Apryl was very assertive and professional by communicating with me via telephone and email. On the day of the appointment she was the artist who completed my piece, and it could not have turned out more stunning. The tattoo studio is very clean, filled with fun colorful decor, and they even were accommodating by allowing my 3 friends watch while I was getting the tattoo done. All of the artist's instruments were sanitary, and every inch of her station look well kept, as well as maintained. I absolutely love my piece. Apryl did an amazing job with the font of the phrase that I chose, and I am so happy that her size and line placement recommendations were exactly what I wanted. She did a great job, and consistently asked if I was comfortable or needed breaks throughout the process. On a in overcast day here in Phoenix Arizona I walked in for a walk in appointment and was greeted by friendly young lady who referred me to an unfriendly old man. The old man told me that he refused to touch up a tattoo of mine based on the location, however ironically he had tattoos in the same location. I suppose he found somebody really dumb to do his. I am a little late on my review, I've had my tattoo for about seven months now. I did a ton of research on local tattoo shops and artists before finally finding Apryl at 27 tattoo. The art that I wanted was full of color and probably not the easiest to accomplish, it was based on some local street art of a cat that I found. I asked Apryl during our consultation if she could incorporate some of my own cat's patterns in to the artwork, and she was more than happy to go the extra mile to do so. She asked for a few photos of my cat to help her get an idea of her exact color and patterns. It was a long wait between the consultation and my actual appointment (over a month), but I know that if you want quality work done then that is to be expected sometimes. It was well worth the wait, Apryl completely exceeded my expectations and seven months later I still can't stop looking at my arm and the beautiful artwork that Apryl did. I went to 27 tattoo studio a while ago, I had already had done work in Arizona prior to visiting this shop and let's just say my first experience wasn't the best so I was in the market for someone with serious credibility. After going through artist after artist, I came across Anthony Triana and I knew he would be the guy doing my next tattoo. I wanted three lines of script on my ribs and although, I was a little upset I couldn't get the tattoo in a smaller font I am very happy with the way it turned out. I was scared of how much the tattoo would hurt because I heard countless horror stories about the pain you feel when you get a rib tattoo, but to my surprise I was completely calm the entire time. Anthony has a really light hand and even though I brought a friend just in case I needed to hold a hand, I didn't reach for her once. A review on Anthony Triana: Growing up I had a really bad case of acne that left a dense amount of keloid scarring on my chest. I had this idea of a tattoo on my chest but felt insecure about following through with it because of the difficulty of tattooing over keloid scaring (It's bumpy, it can swell up pretty bad, and tattoos can end up looking all screwed up if not done carefully). I met with Anthony for a consult. I gave him a couple of ideas for tattoos, and the one he liked the most was the idea for my chest. I explained and showed him the scarring condition. Anthony, very confidently, said he could make it work. He explained he had previously tattooed on scar tissue. His response and calm made me trust him, so we scheduled the date for the tattoo. A couple of days later we met for the first session. First, he completed the outline of the tattoo. The scars swelled up (as we had expected).We scheduled a second appointment to let the swelling come down. The second session he completed the tattoo and the end result was amazing. I was surprised with how similar the tattoo looked on my skin compared to the stencil. He did an amazing job. Here's a picture :) NO FILTER. Oh! And also, I explained the idea mainly with words and only a couple of pictures, but the credit goes to Anthony's creativity. Anthony was very communicative in the process of shaping the tattoo, he respected the things I didn't like and wanted to fix, and he always kept an open mind. I've had 3 tattoos done by Anthony. I love this place! I can personally attest to the great work that Jason puts out, and have seen lots of other great work in progress by all the other artists. Apryl and Anthony are both very pleasant, greeting me when I arrive and giving me a warm goodbye when I go. The shop itself is very clean with lots of interesting artwork and things around to look at. This is not a "walk in and pick a design off the wall" joint. Each artist seems to have their own style and strengths, from amazing color work, to ridiculously realistic portraits. I think it is safe to say that there is someone here who would be able to do anything you could dream up. Parking can be a little awkward occasionally.
