When I wasn't out in the streets eating street food or stuffing myself with Jollibee... I had to find a few sit-down restaurants. Before my trip, I went looking and as soon as I found 25 Seeds online, I knew I had to try it.
It was near a museum we were visiting so that made it all the more easy to get to. I definitely plan to visit again on my next trip. The food was delicious.
The atmosphere is nice. We arrived near the time it opened so there were only a few other tables but I imagine this place gets packed as the evening goes on. It sits back off the street it's on but it's also not hard to find...especially if you have directions on your phone.
-- Garlic rice and plain rice because duh. Rice is life.
-- Most of the dishes we ordered come with flowers on them. I assume they're edible flowers because I ate every single one of them. lol.
-- Tinapa Truffle Mousse - Smoked bangus, cream, truffle, capers, dill, bread. I didn't expect this to be so good. It was just bread and mousse. It was definitely the best restaurant starter I've ever had! I can't even describe it! I could've turned into a bottomless eating machine on this stuff alone.
-- Signature Salad - Arugula, mushroom confit, onions, tomato, gorgonzola, balsamic vinaigrette. I tend to not go for balsamic-type dressings but it worked on this salad. I wouldn't think to put all these ingredients together but for me, the gorgonzola tied it all together to bring out an excellent taste.
-- Aligue Pasta - Aligue, linguini, coriander, chili, lemongrass, crabsticks. This was a pasta dish. The chili and crabsticks were nice additions. It made it have this crispy taste/texture. I thought the salad had apple strips on it for a second. I could've almost had this for an entree.
-- Crispy Pork Belly Truffled Macadamia kare-kare - Annatto, snake beans, eggplant, macadamia, truffle. This is one of the things they post on their socials to order. People seem to love it. I liked it but I filled myself up on everything else we ordered. The only problem and it's not really a problem... I noticed in the Philippines that eating fatty parts seems to be a thing in some places. I can eat some but I usually only want a bite or two of fat. It was still good... but it is a lot of pork. The sauce was perfect and the veggies with this dish are good too.
-- Chicken Galantin - Meatloaf... ham, chorizo, chicken, bacon. I think this might've been my favorite thing. Meatloaf... sure. But I think it had every kind of meat in it(as referenced above). It was sooooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering this on my next visit if they still have it.
Overall... a great spot! I will return! read more
