I have recently moved neighborhoods in Louisville and have been looking for a great laundromat to visit. I stopped by 2406 Laundrymart on a Saturday afternoon, which is usually a pretty busy time at other Laundromat's, and was happy yo find only a few other people there. The washers are in pretty good shape and they have a solid selection of sizes for bigger sized loads. I do wish there was a person who worked in the laundromat as it seemed it was just customers and I saw a few people having issues with the change machines running low. read more

Most of the machines were broken and the good machines are being used by he staff for people who drop their laundry off, not the friendliest staff we've dealt with to say the least. They should only be a drop off service, they clearly do not want people coming in. read more

After our washing machine broke I needed to find a local laundrymat where I could quickly clean the backlog. This location offers a good amount of machines that take both credit/ debit cards or quarters. I thought the cost was fair for the convenience. The only disappointment was the lack of outlets. It was just as bad as most airport gates. read more

This place gets the job done. Bonus points for having some machines that take credit cards. Other than that, it's not as nice as some of the laundry facilities in the area. Parking and the main entrance are in the back. I pulled up to the front on Frankfort Ave and that door was locked, so it was kind of annoying to have to get everything back into my car just to go around the block. A laundromat doesn't need to be fancy, but something about AstroTurf in a facility that has a lot of moisture just seemed odd. I also didn't like the lack of restrooms for patrons, as I usually stick around until my laundry is done and found myself needing the necessary room while I waited. And while I was there, I couldn't see any employees waiting behind the laundry drop off desk or elsewhere in the facility, which felt a little unnerving. So, good in a pinch, but if I have the spare time, I may run elsewhere to get my wash done. read more

I used the dryers here every week. Today I used the dryers and put a dollar in each of the dryers I used. I own a salon and need to dry my towels quickly so I can get to work. After 20mins in the dryer one was damp and the other was like I didn't put any money in there at all. I told the person in the window. She checked the dryer told me nothing was wrong and she wasn't refunding or putting in money in the dryer to dry my towels. SO MUCH FOR A FRIENDLY LAUNDROMAT. Yes I lost my cool and went off but I was upset by her lack of concern for the operation of the business. I will not be back or recommend. read more

As far as laundromats go, it would be tough to improve upon this place. While there on 10/12/17 at about 3 p.m., I found 2406 Laundrymart to be clean with everything in proper working order. 2406 Laundrymart has the usual laundromat amenities, plus some more. They have wifi (which I did not personally use, so cannot vouch for its efficacy). There are a couple of vending machines, $1.25 for candy bars and $.75 for sodas. Some machines here take both cards and quarters. There are a few chairs inside and several clean counters for folding clothes. Some of the washing machines appeared to be new (see photo). There were dryers for loads of varying sizes. I used the one on top closest to the vending machines and it dried everything in less time than what I paid for (thirty minutes) without anything smelling burnt. There is street parking as well as a small parking lot in the back. There were several garbage receptacles inside and the ones I saw looked recently emptied. A way this place could improve would be to expand its space to allow for more seating and floor space. There were minimal chairs and the ones I saw had fabric seats and backs. Seating, such as benches, with non absorbent material that can be kept clean would be an improvement. The chairs did not look terrible or totally worn out, just stained. I stood the whole time I was there. Another way this place could improve would be to implement recycling. Detergent and other laundry supplies are available here for purchase here (from a machine on the wall by the restroom), but I saw only garbage cans for their empties and no recycling receptacles. read more

Like Phil B, I don't get the awful reviews. The husband and wife who run the place are very, very friendly. I've never had an issue with them -- in person or on the phone. They've both been helpful and pleasant each time I've gone. One great thing about this laundromat is that you can use a credit/debit card to run the machines. This can come in really handy if you're low on quarters or don't feel like stopping by an ATM. That being said, this laundromat is a bit more expensive than others I've used in town but it's not ridiculously overpriced by any means. The only complaint I have is that there's very little seating which is a bit annoying since you've got few options but to stand around and wait for your clothes to finish washing and drying. read more

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It's busted and grimy, but I guess if your into that it's fine, but then again why would you be washing clothes? I came in an hour after opening and it smells a little funky. The garbage cans are completely full and the guy working is a little creepy, seriously. The carpeting is disgusting and half looks soaked. The machines could use a solid wiping down, I may re-wash my clothes... Bleck. The website says it has stuff for sell incase you forget something, but it's one brand of fabric softener and one brand of soap... Choices! (Website is misleading as fvck) im pretty sure he's not to keen on **alt* lifestyle people because there's Salvation Army and bible verses posted... He's watching the 700 Club.... Seriously? I was struggling making it to the door and the nice gentleman who works here helped me. He also showed me the machines and which ones accept cards. There is also a change machine that takes cards! It's clean. It's quiet. Friendly service. I think I just found a diamond in the ruff! read more

Sub-par...at best. Maybe I've been spoiled with more modern laundromats, but this place was a bit old and busted and yet still slightly higher on costs. At 2406, I will conceded that some of the washing machines were modern, but the rest of the joint was not in strong shape. One TV blasting Judge Judy seemed almost appropriate with the shag carpet. Reading material including AARP magazines from 2008 and large chairs that look like they might have been pulled out of the garbage. It just seemed a bit run down. Also, the cost was surprising. A quarter only gets you four minutes (4!) on the dryers and with no digital timer to tell you how long you need. I remember the washing machines being surprisingly on the high side as well. Need a sink? Well, there's one in the small bathroom you can use. Need to buy some Tide? Your options are limited. What saves this from being a one star review is that in the end we walked away with clothes that were indeed clean and washed - so the laundromat satisfied that requirement. Can do in a pinch for washing/drying your clothes, but will not return. read more

I accidentally left a load of reds in the dryer, and one of the employees put everything in a plastic bag and set it aside. They still had it a week later when I realized that's where all my clothes went. The gentleman at 2406 I spoke with on the phone when I called to ask if anyone had left a load of clothes there was patient, as was the woman working when I came to pick up the clothes later that evening. This is by far the cleanest laundromat I've been to. The prices are comparable to other places, and this is one of the only places I've seen that takes quarters. They also have wifi, which is a plus. read more

I truly do not believe that anyone could have an experience here that deserves any less than maybe three stars. The owners, a husband and wife have done such a good job of growing this business--they are one of the only laundry marts I am aware of that the machines accept credit cards. The machines may appear to be priced high, however they are larger and their you get more done with them which equals an overall lower cost. As far as not having a good selection of laundry soap, I simply being my own. I've used both the machines as well as the drop-off service and have always been very pleased. I have also had them mend clothing for me. In closing, this place is always clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and it has a small town locally owned feel about itself. read more

My personal favorite laundromat tucked in the midst all the quaint places along Frankfort Avenue. I have been to many laundromats in Louisville and this one is by far the cleanest. Almost always quiet and plenty of machines for how small the store is. The faculty keep up with everything so well. The machines and carpet are always spotless and I feel so clean when I leave here! The owner and staff are all very friendly which is definitely nice. Always enjoy my experience here. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I've been going to this laundromat for 8-9 months so far, and every time I go it gets worse. Today I tried to exchange my $10 bill for quarters using the change machine on the wall. I put my money into the machine but no quarters came out. There were two women who witnessed the situation, one of whom tried to help by pounding on the machine. That didn't work. (Neither the owner nor anyone who "works" at the laundromat was there at the time--what a surprise!) That was the only money I had on me so I left to retrieve another $10 from a nearby ATM. When I came back a few minutes later, I tried the other change machine on the wall and it worked! I proceeded to do my laundry. As I was exiting the laundromat with my clean laundry, I saw the owner outside and politely notified him that one of his change machines was not working earlier. I told him I put ten dollars into the machine but didn't receive any change. He incredulously asked if the red light was on (which indicates the machine is out of service). I replied that it wasn't on earlier when I used it, which is why I tried to use it. He then proceeded to open the machine and take out a dollar to demonstrate that it works. Lo and behold, it worked that particular time. I told him that it wasn't working earlier when I tried it. He slammed the door to the change machine and exclaimed, "I don't believe you!" I told him that there were two women who witnessed the machine eating my dollar, but he replied "I don't believe you." I then reminded him that there is a security camera in the corner that would validate everything I said if he simply looked at the footage, to which he replied, "I don't believe you." I retorted, "do you really think I would lie about something like this?!" He said, "lots of people try to pull this stunt. I don't believe you." I picked up my laundry and left, refusing to argue with that ignoramus any more. With that being said, I am gainfully employed at the medical school and have no compelling reason whatsoever to scam this man out of ten measly dollars. I will never be patronizing this laundromat again. The owner is unequivocally the most unreasonable person I've had to deal with since I've been in Louisville.
