Solid! This is the…read moreonly B&B in Avalon. It is also the only hotel-type place in the surrounding area (around 30th street) - the rest of the hotels in Avalon-Stone Harbor are all lumped together closer to 90th street. This makes the surrounding beach around this B&B less crowded than it otherwise would be. It is also 1 block from the beach and the place that sells the beach tags is right on that block too! It is also within walking distance of all the mini golf and shopping area/restaurants around avalon, so location is quite perfect. As to accommodations, they were entirely appropriate and value for money is very high. The place is clean and well appointed. New owners are pleasant enough without being overly chatty (which is my preference, but may not be everyone's cup of tea). As others have mentioned, though, walls are thin and this is an old house, so you can certainly hear people coming and going up and down the stairs. Room #6 is the smaller room, I believe, and bathroom is in the hallway, but is still private. Bathroom was small but fine and the room itself has a sink in the room which is handy. Oh, and breakfast. Coffee and tea was ready by 7:30-8, breakfast (self-serve) was ready at 9am and usually consisted of fruit, yogurt, some baked good, and something savory such as quiche or sausage in gravy. Certainly hearty and homely but not pretentious or overly complicated. All in all, plan on returning when I return to Avalon. Price to quality ratio is excellent.

We both do reviews for employees, and if we have a person who gets either of those scores, then we are doing something wrong. In other words, one with a single star rating one should have been terminated long ago; someone with five should have been promoted. This experience was what everyone wants to have: the best possible score. Mike and Wanda O'Niel possess a great attitude about their business and how seriously they take whatever their guests want or inquire from them. Both are excellent conversationalists, with strong knowledge of the leisure industry and the desire to make travellers comfortable and happy. The house is magnificent, with every room designed to fit the historical accuracy of its build, while still providing all the modern amenities one comes to expect. The meals provided were unique and an eicurian delight. They both know every restaurant and its address to recommend for dinner. Their house is just three (long) blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, a perfect distance - just close enough to walk, but far enough not to hear the noise.. Every evening at 17:00, they host the "cookie hour" with unusual, again, unique cookies and light drinks. Even the weather was great; but I don't think they'd have accepted rain if at all possible! My husband and I had an incredible time. Never have we had such a boundlessly beautiful three days and two nights in a lovely room, with a jacuzzi, a huge bathroom, great property and such dedicated hosts! They also provide a Tesla and another EV electricity provision for energising one's vehicle! I happily and highly recommend the Candlelight Inn for anyone visiting southern New Jersey's beach area.

The hosts, Mike and Wanda, are most congenial, and the breakfasts they cook are delicious. They also are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice. Late afternoon refreshments, including homemade cookies appeared at 5:00 each day, and evening snacks were on the table when we came back for the night. Fragrant aromas often emanated from the kitchen as we came and went. We were there in the off season, so it was no surprise that things were quiet. The Inn is located several blocks from the beach (an easy walk), which probably means it stays relatively serene even during the summer. We slept very comfortably in the Bay Window room. Chilled bottled water and soft drinks were supplied in a hallway alcove. Most of our activities were centered in Cape May, but it is an easy drive from the inn. The Candlelight Inn is not a suitable place for families with young children, but they allow dogs in lower level rooms. We can confidently recommend this place to other travelers, and would be happy to stay there again ourselves.

I had booked a spot for Corvettes on the Boardwalk in Ocean City and needed a place to crash. But where? I found Summer Nites and from the pictures it looked like a beautiful seaside mansion. Sold! We arrived on Saturday night for a two night stay. Sheila greeted us and proudly showed us her home. The theme throughout the home is the fabulous 50's. We're shown into the kitchen and it is a beautiful recreation of a 50's style diner. Each booth has a few quarters to play the authentic jukebox loaded with, yep! 50s and 60s style records. I had that bad boy crankin' the Beach Boys and Frankie Valli. There is a working Coke machine (with dimes in a can) grab yourself a bottle anytime! There are two working hot tubs on the property and the front porch has rocking chairs to sit and relax. In the garage, Sheilas husband has his 57 Chevy waiting to cruise. Sheila & Rick are car people too?? Very very cool. Each morning we were greeted with an amazing breakfast. To start, a large fruit cup and freshly baked muffins were waiting for us. I poured myself a coffee as I was served a delicious homemade waffle and sausage. This has to be the best Bed & Breakfast I ever stayed at. Our room was the Marilyn Monroe room. Lots of Pink! When I walked into the room, I didn't know what to expect. My wife filled up the Jacuzzi and used the bath bomb in the water. After a 10 minute soak, I can understand why JFK kept Marilyn as his side piece. We checked out on Monday, we were the only guests in the B&B. Sheila sat with us and we talked about the future events at Summer Nites. Sheila, I can honestly say we had a great time and cannot wait to return next year.

Bikers in general are no problem and these ones seemed like nice people. The problem is they were loud and they congregated just down from our room. Most nights some of them were outside, laughing and being loud until after midnight. One of them had a large dog that barked a lot. Most of them smoked or vaped, where they were sitting in the walkway. The motel has a strict policy of quiet time after 10pm. This sign was on the wall between their rooms. There is also a sign, opposite where they sat, specifying the designated smoking area in the back parking lot. Management knew about their behavior and allowed it. This has never been allowed to anyone else any other time we were there. We paid a lot of money to stay there for 5 days. I realize all the bikers also paid a lot and as a group they represented big business to the motel. It sounded like they are a yearly regular. This should NOT give them special privileges and allow them to break the rules while Management turns a blind eye. If that's the case, then Management should close the motel to anyone else or give a discounted rate and notice of the conditions. This is totally unacceptable behavior from the management. It is also very bad business practice as people will not want to stay there. It is very unfair to other unknowing, paying, customers. The rules should be the same for everyone.

Visit Date: July 28, 2025 into July 29, 2025…read more My boyfriend's family was staying here for their Summer Vacation. My boyfriend was there from Monday to Wednesday, my son and I came out to stay Monday night into Tuesday and we left Tuesday night because I had a notary class the next day on July 30. I did love it here, my one issue was not enough parking. They only allowed one car per room to park on the property. I had so much stuff with me because I was not only packed for one night in Wildwood but packed for the next week without my son in case I ended up sleeping over anywhere. I usually don't sleep over anyone's house but my sister's but I always carry extra clothes on nights I won't have my son in case I end up being offered to sleep at a friend's house or something I'm prepared. So because of my issues with being prepared and having too much stuff when I found out I couldn't park at the hotel I had a mini heart attack on the inside. When I got to the hotel, I had to figure out what I needed and unload my car and than I ended up parking the car 3 blocks away. I am not sure if they can arrange more parking, I don't know if it's possible but it's the one gripe I have. The room my boyfriend, son and I stayed in had a king size bed. I bought a cot for my son to sleep on but my son ended up at the end of the bed because he didn't want to sleep in the cot, I ended up in the middle of the bed and my boyfriend ended up at the other end of the bed. The 3 of us fit lol. The room had a kitchenette. I love the rooms with the kitchenettes. I like to bring groceries with me on trips so I can save money on food out so anyplace that has a kitchenette I love. I bought regular coffee to brew and were dismayed to learn they had a keurig, if I knew that I would have bought some of my disposable k cups with me. It ended up being okay they had starbucks k cups that they provided and I was more than happy to drink that. They had a pretty nice pool. I didn't get to visit the beach but I heard they provided beach accessories. This hotel was also located at the end of the boardwalk and very close to it. I would stay here again if I were given a chance.
