I was told their pricing was listed on their website (clarksscrapmetals.com/scrap-metal ), and it all looked fair. The cost to deliver and pick up a 30-yard dumpster was $350, which would simply be deducted from the proceeds of the scrap we provided. We loaded over 5,500 pounds of valuable material -- copper plumbing, electrical wire, and cast iron -- which they picked up on September 27, 2025. After two weeks of silence, I called to check in. That's when I was told, by someone named Lacy, that the prices on their website don't apply to anything placed in a dumpster. Instead, everything -- copper, aluminum, wire, you name it -- was supposedly worth just $0.04 per pound. Four cents. This directly contradicts what I was told when ordering the dumpster on September 23, and nowhere on their website or roll-off page does it mention such a policy. According to Lacy, "they wouldn't make any money" if they paid the listed rates for dumpster loads -- as if that excuses the deception. We had more than 500 pounds of copper pipe alone, plus similar amounts of wire -- thousands of dollars' worth of material -- all sold off for pennies because they misrepresented their pricing. If only they were upfront when I called, I would have hauled the metal in myself. Instead, they waited until after pickup to rewrite the deal. It's no mystery how a business grows to four locations when it operates this way -- when you mislead customers, you profit at their expense.

I wash all my cans & the last i put a magnet on them it stuck so it must be metal. I had to go through 9 boxes to remove the cans missed a vets eye appt because of the time ot took. When i collected my check I told the office guy that he could take my name off his list heh said "That's the best news I've heard all day". When I want to do 3 or even 4 loads I can do it here! And another thing I accidentally wrecked a door on my truck. They found me one in the yard and I went home and mounted the new door. After a major move, I dropped off a new suit and an overcoat at sister laundry mat/dry cleaners, Bangor Street Laundromat, 56 Western Ave., Augusta, ME. From there, it was then sent to John's Green Cleaners, 355 Main St, Lewiston, ME 04240. A week later, John's returned my black suit and overcoat to Bangor Street Laundromat where I discovered that both items were severely heat-damaged: the suit in the lapel, waist area, and front and back shoulders; the overcoat was a mass of wrinkles caused by seams that had shrink considerably and totally deformed and diminished each garment. Overzealous or inexperienced pressing had permanently damaged both items. Owner Greg at first responded to a phone call and asked to be given opportunity to correct matters. I sent the damaged items back to John's for a second pressing attempt. A week later, the still-damaged items were miserably the same. Phone calls to Greg's cell and the business went unanswered for at least two weeks. Finally, I wrote an email including the below photo links demanding the filing of a damages claim. Eventually an unknown "John's Cleaner" employee responded to my email by text (unprofessional) and included a photo of theirs still showing the obviously-damaged suit jacket on their presser with warpage all around. Within the text, John's took no responsibility for having damaged both items, provided no means of filing a damage claim, and offered a self-serving resolution: that I subject further articles of clothing to their abuse and receive a one-time 30% discount. Apparently, Greg sees small claims court as the preferred means to resolve damages disputes with his clients. Do yourself a favor: stay away from Bangor Street and all of John's Green Cleaner's affiliates throughout Maine.

They don't always come at the same time every week usually after 8am. This is nice, so I don't have to remember the night before. They also go the extra mile and have come up to the house and grabbed the trash cans when we had forget to put them by the road. They are easy to talk with either by phone or facebook message.
