My flat is just next to 202 and I've passed by so many times admiring the decor that it was about time to pop in to actually taste the food. 202 is an peculiar and also trés chic mix of a fashion boutique and restaurant serving a trendy Notting Hill crowd. In the summertime, you can sit outside people watching, while in the colder (and, let's face it, ever so rainy 10 other months of the year) you can have your choice of a seat inside. They also have a garden, but we didn't go there. I was meeting a friend visiting from Copenhagen, and she was already there sipping really good Italian white wine. So I ordered myself a glass (one eventually turned into 3..) and went through their menu. The salads looked amazing, so I went for a green salad with figs, goat cheese and dry italian ham. It was really good, and quite generous. My friend also went for a salad and we had some fries to share - crunchy, slim and with good quality mayo - yummy. We also had quite the entertainment: The place was packed with police as some woman had her bag stolen. The thief was actually caught by the staff who locked the door so she didn't escape. A LOT of swearing and yelling until she was taken away by the police. Usually, I think it's much more quite and eventless. If you need a good salad or just want to see where Notting Hill'ers hang, this is your obvious choice.

Once again, I was dragged to a women's shop with my girlfriend who just cant seem to understand that I hate shopping, but 202 has really got something right. Whilst the woman shops, I can sit down and eat in the restaurant, genius! As for the clothes, I cant comment, though she did come back to my table with a bag. As for the food, well, it has a decent selection, including burgers and really puts an emphasis on organic healthy eating. But I had fish and chip and my girlfriend got one of those healthy shakes, all reasonably priced. Just to add, if all woman's clothing shops provided something like this, this world would be a better place, there would be less arguing!

Quinoa French Toast - it's ok, I'm sure there are better dishes on the menu.

First impression of this restaurant was a good one. The decor inside this restaurant is refreshing as they also have a clothing shop in the basement of the restaurant. This street has plenty of cute shops as well as great restaurants. It was a quieter street compared to the touristy places on Portobello Road (which was jammed pack). As for service, service was great. All the waiters and waitresses were friendly. However, it did take a while for us to get the food as well as a long wait to get seated. Food: Food was pretty good, nothing that would blow your mind. The food on the menu seemed to be seasonal so they always offered different types of brunch foods either daily/weekly/monthly. It's also a very healthy restaurant as they used very fresh, organic, and healthy ingredients. I ordered a Quinoa French Toast, which was ok. Not very sweet unless added with syrup and the taste is a bit interesting. However, the Avocado Toast and some type of healthy Sprout Salad was very good. Nice and refreshing for a day walking in Notting Hill. We also ordered their Raspberry Pancakes which were decadent. How I found this place: I was supposed to head to Granger and Co. which had great reviews from Yelp but the line was way too long on a Saturday for brunch. Granger and Co. was down the road and we passed by 202 so we just returned back to 202 to enjoy a rainy Saturday afternoon!

Large restaurant and good for brunch. Great for big groups but food is okay, service a little slow during rush brunch hour and menu items a little limited. Nothing was too inspiring, food was okay - a little bland, but cute location and interior. Would suffice if you had to balance the food vs group size or bringing in your dog.

What a great cafe/restaurant! Great quality food and great ambience. There's an outdoor area if the weather is good and a decent space that's family friendly and trendy on the inside!

Brunch here is amazing! I went there just last week, I got there really hungry, and we had to wait a bit to get our table but once we sat down we where asked for our drinks. While these arrived I was drooling looking at other peoples plates, trying to decide what to order, it was a bit of an ordeal, but I settled for the lamb hamburger, while my boyfriend ordered the French Toast with bacon. We tried to order from the guy that brought the drinks, but he was a bit rude, and said in a French accent "No, zu cangt ogder fgrom me, I only zoo dgrinkhs". Finally we ordered, from the right waiter, food came after a good while, or so it seemed. My burger was delicious and my boyfriends' French toast was delicious as well. I love the airiness and deco of the place and the fact that you can go downstairs and buy a cashmere sweater.

Convenient location within walking distance and next to Fabrique Bakery definitely helped, too. After good bread breakfast I needed just good coffee, a decent table and time. Coffee Plant provided all of the above topped with nice, relaxed vibe. I have not tried any of the snacks yet but the white coffee I had felt rather good. This will most likely be updated after I revisit - which will probably happen quite soon!

A very underwhelming experience. This was a highly rated coffee place near Portobello Road Market…read more I went there with my family members and we ordered two single shot espressos and one latte. The service was quick but lacklustre. The espresso drinks were not strong and tasted like they had been watered down. The latte was okay. Not very memorable but okay. However, what threw me off the most was the dirty saucer that was given to me along with the cup. There were old bits of coffee grounds on the saucer which stuck to my cup. It was kind of nasty and distracted me from enjoying the coffee. The baristas also seemed bored and distracted. One of them was sitting on the floor after he was done making my drink and he was just itching his hair. I was hoping he washed his hands before making my drink but I wouldn't count on it. My brother asked about their coffee deal, half off for a bag of coffee. They told him it was an old deal since COVID and they hadn't taken it off the board behind them. What a sad coffee place.

02/2026 Just a quick…read morenote upfront: there are several places around the UK (and beyond) called "The Orangery" - from restaurants in hotels to other historic venues - but none of them are affiliated with each other. This review is specifically for the historic one at Kensington Palace, the beautiful baroque building in the palace gardens. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea here, and it was everything I hoped for and more - a perfect blend of elegance, history, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, our host Denis made us feel incredibly welcome. First and foremost, I have to say he has a great first name - it's the same as mine (Dennis/Denis), which gave us an instant connection and a good laugh! He was exceptionally accommodating, giving us plenty of choice over where to sit and checking in on us multiple times throughout the afternoon with genuine friendliness and care. His attention to detail really elevated the whole experience. Our waiter, Mustafa, was nothing short of amazing. He handled our dietary needs with ease - accommodating gluten-free and vegetarian options without any fuss - and even split the afternoon tea accordingly so we could both enjoy it fully. The food itself was lovely, but the standout for me was the tea selection. I tried several varieties: peppermint, masala chai, vanilla chai, and classic English breakfast. The staff were happy to bring different teas or extra hot water whenever we asked, and don't forget to add sugar and milk for that perfect personal touch - it made all the difference. The setting is stunning, with the historic Orangery building and views of the Kensington Palace gardens creating a truly relaxing and regal atmosphere. Every moment felt unhurried and enjoyable; it was the ideal way to spend a peaceful afternoon. Huge thanks to Denis and Mustafa for their outstanding service - they made what could have been a standard tea into something truly memorable. Highly recommend booking ahead (it's popular!), and if you get the chance, ask for these two legends. We'll definitely be back!

We thought The Orangery would be the ideal spot as it sits right by the Kensington Palace. My group made reservations, which are encouraged. When we arrived there were ample seats both inside and outside. The interior is white, simple, clean, and bright. A bit bleak on the eye. We chose to sit outside to get some sun, people watch, and enjoy being by the gardens. All of the staff took great care of us, checked on my dietary restrictions, came by numerous times, and were kind and courteous. Now for the afternoon tea, we got the Afternoon Tea and the Vegan Afternoon Tea. I am dairy free so the vegan one was for me, but I eat certain meats so we did share and sample each other's. To start, the presentation was fine, nothing spectacular. The portions were plentiful as I could only eat the finger sandwiches and half of one scone, I saved the rest. I only expected more but found all of the sandwiches to be pretty neutral. I wish there were more seasoning, filling, and the bread wasn't as dry as it was. The scone was good with the provided preserves. When I did have the sweets they were all good, the fruit ones being my favorite. For tea, I chose the Organic Darjeeling. It came out to about three cups and was light and delicate. We left full! Kensington Palace is iconic in itself. If you want to pretend you're a royal or are visiting the area, The Orangery is an option. Honestly, I wouldn't come for their tea as I thought it was just okay. I would recommend going somewhere else, but I'm glad to check this off my bucket list!
