It was held in the Mill Suite, which is a downstairs suite with 2 rooms, a coatroom, and bathroom facilities. The main room consists of a bar, a seating/lounge area, and a dance floor with long tables situated at either side. It's a lovely room, very clean, modern, and welcoming. It'd be a lovely place to hold any milestone birthday, engagement party, wedding reception, etc. The prices of drinks at the bar were pretty reasonable, and space to relax or to mingle and chat. The dancefloor is a good size - definitely plenty of room for all your friends' and families' embarrassing dance moves, and all those dance-along favourites like the (heeeey) Macarena! This is definitely the kind of place I'd think of hiring for any big special occasion.

They offer alot of deals and I love a deal. Drink is reasonably priced which is refreshing excuse the pun. All in all the clipper is a good bet if you are on a budget and out of ideas like I have been for the majority of my life. It used to be a shipping office but you stop caring when you are presented with a huge burger and chips.

Total 5 stars! The Rutherglen Town hall has undergone…read morerenovation, to an excellent standard! It hosts many rooms, that would suit many an event! I had my wedding meal and reception here. We had our meal that would sit up to 50 in the fab bar area which is modern in style and has glass roof and sides, NOT what you would expect in a Town Hall, this area lights up the glass with lovely lighting, it really illuminates at night time! After the day reception and lovely meal we moved into the Grand Hall, this is a more traditional area, suited our needs, this area holds 150 guests, so with the bar area you can have around 200 guests for evening! If day guests exceed 50 the grand hall is used for meals! We where advised the hall is very dark at night, we kept this in mind when ordering our centrepiece's and had a feather display that lit up on each table! This was really lovely in the room, also we choose a great dj who had the most amazing light set up! Well worth the cost, he brought a double chocolate fountain that was set up in the bar area and I had worked hard and got sweets, crystal bowls, scoops , personalised bags etc for a candy buffet to be arranged on a table as well! Their was lots of space, and a lovely seated area at the bar, which we just put candles on the tables their! The only 2 downfalls for me on the Town Hall us you have to have their catering for the evening buffet! This to me was a very expensive cost! It was lovely, but as I said for us it was expensive! We chose carefully and also the fountain and candy buffet and cake all helped it along! Also the bar area has a staircase that does not have a safety gate, just a rope going across! This really was not good enough as we had 2 toddlers at our event! And 3 of my guests had to stand guard to make sure the children didn't go near the stairs, and I felt this dampened thir experience, as their welcome drink became a stand and guard session! I asked the venue if I could buy a gate previously and was told no, health and saftey would not allow it! This still baffles me! My brother in law still talks of his fear one of the kids where going to fall down these stairs! So have a gaurs in place or ask them to change their policy! Not like your not paying enough lol! Later the toddlers where in prams so did not matter as much! The staff where on the ball! Took care of everything, from cut fingers to organising taxi fairs! We paid £10 extra to hire the hall for the 1Am finish as thought this was very reasonable and the normal 12am finish would probably not accommodate our guests as well as the 12am finish! Hehe! This venue does need to be recognised more for the great place that it is! This venue also hosts many different events, comedy, theatre shows, wedding fairs! Go along and have a wee look!

We were here for the pop up of The Street Food Putter Club (separate review for this event on their page). We were a group of 12 and we all agree that this outing was by far the most random we've ever had, but definitely a fun one! Once inside, we were questioning whether to check our coats, but take note: you're going to need your coats as this place is only heated by floor heaters spread out in the building. The place is pretty huge and this particular event was spread out into 5 spaces- each one with areas to sit and relax, eat and drink. The toilets are bare, cold and dark and the sinks reminded me of old feeding throughs! One little warning should you find yourself at The Glue Factory: watch the white walls. Don't lean up against them or touch them really as they leave white dust marks over everything. Loads of us found out the hard way and had white stuff all over our clothes and bags. All in all, this is a great space. Super cold but if you come bundled up, it makes for a great space to hang.

The room layouts were peculiar. o The bathroom looked as if it had been added years after the hotel was built. Counter and storage space for utilities was minimal. It was too tight for two people to use at the same time. There was no vent fan, and much of the paint was peeling off the walls and ceiling. o The public areas and furniture seemed tired and worn. The whole place needs to be freshened up.

Very friendly check in staff.  Special mention for Jamie who did a wonderful job.  I noticed no bell boy staff when checking in. My room was small but functional.  It had a huge bathroom, it was almost as big as the room.  One thing missing was a  luggage stand.  Room included a fan and heater in the wardrobe case along with the usual ironing board and hairdryer. Unusual location for the hair dryer as it is not near the bathroom.  Bathroom has no drawers.   No centralized heating because I could not find the  thermostat.  Radiator heater was on max but no heat.  Explains the fan and heater in the wardrobe closet.  I found the room temperature ok.  In the summer or winter, some one may fin exception to it.   Sound echos down long hall way.  I could occasionally hear people couple of rooms down talking loudly in the hallway.   Room was overlooking the roof of the train station and I could hear the sound of trains coming and going. Great location to Glasgow Central and walking distance from Glasgow Queen Street station.  FYI, make note of which train station departing and arriving from.  My train from Edinburgh stopped at Glasgow Queen Street station, not Central station.  Quick 10 minute walk over. I would definitely stay here again because of its location and cost.

As soon as I arrived, I went and grabbed a cuppa and some fancy biscuits. The staff were great as per and OMG the tea. Never before have I had tea at a corporate event and thought about how good it was. But this was some darn good tea! It was also much needed as I'd just traipsed through the rain to get there, so it definitely made me feel a lot better. They also had a buffet on and even the other attendees were commenting on how great everything was - again, didn't expect much from a corporate event but it was just so good! They had things like chicken skewers and everything, even the sandwiches, was seriously tasty. Didn't think I'd ever have a favourite AGM, but this one is definitely winning so far! (I also snuck down to the library on my way out to gawp at it, because I am seriously in love with that room. Oft.) If I was throwing a fancy do or some other type of event where I wanted to impress, I would definitely look into booking Fifteen Ninety Nine and just hope I could afford it!
