It's just so random to see a pet store in the middle of a downtown area...but wonderfully random. Will you pay a little more? Sure. It's downtown. It's not a big box store like Petsmart or Petco. It's privately owned and there's nothing better than supporting small businesses like this one. We walked in and place was packed. Tons of people and they all had their dogs with them. Pure heaven for me. Alfred is very shy and was a little overwhelmed lol. I was able to find everything here EXCEPT small bully sticks. They're his favorite and it seems like a lot of stores are no longer carrying them. Very sad. Northwest Pets stopped carrying them too. HOWEVER! I don't think Mollys stopped, they were just out. Hope that's the case. The man working was sooo nice and you can tell immediately he loves his job. Seriously tho...seeing beautiful doggies all day! How could anyone hate that job! They have a super clean area for you to bathe your pups too. I was very impressed with how clean it was. Another area that has all kinds of meat products for them to gnaw on...like actual cow meat/bones. I know I'm using the wrong terminology for it, but can't think of the right words haha. Alfie is too small for those but how convenient to have. My roommates dog would benefit greatly from that room. Plenty of toys, food, treats etc to choose from. Seriously, this store is an absolute gem. I'm so glad I finally discovered it. It's fun to bring my lil man downtown and now we have a place that's made just for him and his friends. I told the team that if there are any issues to text me and I will come to get him. Kody does not spend time with other dogs but does spend time with humans. Like many Huskies, he's fickle, melancholy, moody, and loves strangers more than his family. I was not sure what type of hotel guest he was going to be especially during pet time with other dogs. Kody does have the inclination to be friendly with other male dogs. When I picked him up on Sunday afternoon, the team was raving about Kody, and Sidebar, he does have that effect on people. We enjoyed music by Txantxangorriak and songs by the Biotzetik Basque Choir. There were some tasty holiday favorites - chocolate & churros, chorizo & talo, chestnuts, etc. Booths were set up on the Basque Block selling beautiful handmade cards and prints, handmade scarves and towels, wool blankets and hats, artisan breads, jewelry, and much more! There was a visit from Olentzero (from Basque folklore) one of the Jentillak, a race of Basque giants living in the Pyrenees. As a newborn he was abandoned in the woods and was found by a fairy who gave him the name Olentzero, bestowed gifts of strength and kindness on him and handed him to an older childless couple living alone in the woods. He turned into a strong man and charcoal burner who was also good with his hands, carving wooden toys that he would carry in a big charcoal bag to give to the children of the village. It is said that he died one day saving children from a burning house and that when he died, the fairy who had found him granted him eternal life to continue to bring joy to children, especially ones in orphanages.
