Shortly after placing it on layaway, I had to unexpectedly travel back to Ohio due to a family situation. Because of these circumstances, I missed the 90-day layaway deadline. I explained my situation to the staff at The Armory, and I was told that there would be no problem. I continued making monthly payments toward the firearm, believing that my layaway agreement was still in good standing. When I eventually went to pick up the firearm, I was informed that it had been removed from my layaway. What was most disappointing was that no one contacted me to let me know that the firearm had been removed or that there was an issue with my layaway. Had I received a simple phone call, I could have discussed the situation with the store and considered other options. I specifically wanted that particular firearm, and by the time I learned what had happened, it was no longer available. I was also informed that I could not receive a full refund because of a 20% restocking fee based on the original price of the firearm. I understand that businesses have policies and that layaway agreements may have deadlines. However, I am very disappointed with how this situation was handled. I continued making payments after explaining my circumstances to the store, and I was never notified that the firearm had been removed from my layaway. They have a large selection of guns, new and used at great prices. The staff is always ready and willing to answer your questions, but that isn't the best thing addisons has to offer. You can sign up for their classes. There is a fee and you must have a drivers license or state issued id. The class I took was the Basic Pistol Handling and Gun Safety Course. It's the class you must take before applying for your concealled permit. You can take the class for gun saftey alone, it's a stand alone class, you don't have to apply for the permit if you don't want to. The Instructor, John Lassiter, is phenominal. He's a great teacher, but he's also very entertaining to listen too. I had fun learning about guns and gun safety. I would encourage anyone with a gun in their home to take his class. The class will take about 4 hours, with a break inbetween. You get to handle different types of pistols and semi automatics and after the class you will shoot a pistol at a target to pass the class using all the knowledge you have gained during the 4 hours. It was a fun experience and I no longer feel uncomfortable around a gun because I know how to handle one and be safe with it.

The "club" is open for anyone to become a member, but one must complete a intensive safety briefing and learn the rules and requirements of the range. This might seem like a bit of a hassle to do before you can shoot, but shooting next to someone who you know has the appropriate training also is well worth the time and effort.
