Was sent here by GEICO, Kim was the one that did intake and Eric did the initial inspection and repairs. Since I like to start things in a positive manner I must say Kim took us in the very next day and was cordial for the most part. Repairs only took about a week but it was until the car was "ready" that problems started. I get a call literally no more than 30 mins before their closing time stating car was ready for pick up. I let them know I was about 2 hours away and there was no possible way I'd make it, we then agreed I'd pick it up first thing in the morning. Next day comes and to my surprise car wasn't ready. They couldn't let it leave the lot without being washed first. OK, No big deal, I waited. Car comes out first thing I noticed was different billet grills and no front license plate. The shadow box for the plate wasn't even on there, it was completely hallow and had a cable hanging out. With the keys and paperwork they gave me the plate that was as straight as a crushed tin can! Before I continue, this is a four year old car, first owner, clean title, with full coverage insurance. Then, BEFORE I signed anything at the time of drop off I pointed out to Liz that the steering wheel looked odd, was visibly raised and uneven. She stated airbags either go off or don't. I also pointed out the way the car was driving, requested for tires to be balanced and aligned. Fast forward to after picking up the car, airbag sensor had to be replaced at the dealership costing over $1,200. Tires had to be replaced because they were wearing off unevenly due to not being aligned after a collision costing roughly $800. Despite all this, collision center stated to my insurance that everything was performed. I have a lengthy paper trail stating otherwise. Also, aftermarket parts used on my vehicle brought it's value down drastically. It was only a $247 difference to get new ones which I offer to cover but they did as they please. They went ahead and order the parts without my consent.Conveniently, according to the adjuster the collision center didn't send him pictures of the vehicle after repairs. They did reach out shortly after stating to go pick up the box for the plate completely disregarding all other issues. Like of course, let me take care of everything you already got payed to do. Word of advice, if you notice something wrong with your vehicle at time of pick up, don't drive it away contact your adjuster immediately and leave the car at the lot. read more

What separates good body shops from bad is whether the shop is run by people who love the business/cars -- and Eric is definitely a car guy who loves what he does. I got to the shop to find a sweet classic Porsche and Mercedes sitting there (as well as a few other classic cars that Eric owns). A good sign when you're shopping around. I brought my truck to 1st Street Collision after discovering rust on body; I had unfortunately bought the truck from the east coast site unseen. I got a few quotes from other shops, and was convinced to sell it instead of paying for the very pricey repair until I went to 1st Street Collision. Visited 1st Street Collision upon recommendation from an insurance appraiser. I wanted to have my roof and hood painted on a 2009 Kia, since it was picking up sun fading, and had a minor ding or two. Eric provided me with very informative feedback, and quoted me a very fair price. Plus everything was completely done within only four business days. So, I backed up into the rear metal bar portion of a delivery truck (I believe they're called "monkey bars") which caused a deep hole in my rear bumper. I got a quote from the dealer, but after hearing the price I decided to look for auto body shops around my area. I messaged 1st street collision and spoke to Nelda that same afternoon that I backed up into the truck (Thursday). She was very sweet and helpful while I was messaging her through yelp. I decided to go in early in the morning the following day (Friday) to get more information and a quote. I came in to get an estimate for a damaged fender, (had brought a new one with me) got a quick look over, and discussed options, and other possible work that I was thinking about. I was given a fair price, and the results went beyond my expectations. The paint job was on par, matched the original like perfect. I first want to say that my car was in a desperate state of needing a paint restoration. From years of baking in the California heat, the clear coat had finally given up and left my car looking grimy. This is when I turned to Eric for help. His shop restored my roof and trunk to factory-looking state, matching my unique paint color to a T. I was so thrilled with the work, I knew I would be back for more body work at a later point in time. For my second trip, I had my passenger rocker panel repaired and repainted, a large dent on the hood removed, and both the hood and bumper repainted. Eric along with the ladies and gentlemen of 1st Street Collision are the bar by which all other auto body shops are to be compared to, and unfortunately for all those other shops they'll never stack up. I had an unfortunate event with my car in which the hood lock malfunctioned and flew open while I was driving. As soon as the accident occurred I knew I was in financial trouble. Car repair shops are usually known to take advantage of folks in predicaments. Not Eric, I explained my situation to him and his initial concern was for my well being and that of my kids (who were in the car with me). His priority was to fix my car to the best of his abilities and not nickel and dime me to death. He gave me a more than reasonable price. I never once had to call him to check on the status of the car. Before I knew it he was calling me to come and pick up the car. If the story ended there it'd be more than sufficient but Eric noticed that a locking mechanism on my driver side door was broken so again, instead of tying to get over & charge me dealer prices he said he'd get one of his guys to pick one up for pennies on the dollar and get that squared away for me too.
