I then came across Titan Auto Glass and they were actually able to beat Safelite's pricing; despite being a much smaller operation all while offering the same stipulations and specifications. The tech who came out, Richard, has been doing automotive glass for 20 years, and it comes as no surprise that he aced this job and did so in about 30 minutes flat. Very impressive. I found the staff to be easy to work with, and most communication was done via text message, which I actually find very convenient. Obviously they primarily use aftermarket glass, which in my case was a nonfactor since the factory windshield no longer exists in inventory anywhere. They did say if I ever wanted a factory windshield for one of my other vehicles that I could source it and they would still be able to install it after the fact. Overall it was about as painless of an experience as possible.

This was two days before Thanksgiving 2024 and after a couple weeks went by receiving no communication, I posted a review on Google still no phone calls. I reached out to them YET AGAIN after another week and instead of communicating about my vehicle she wanted to argue about the bad review I left stating they attempted to call me. I printed out my phone logs just to further prove my point that during this entire fiasco they have attempted to call me only once. I sat in their office having a face-to-face conversation with them stating that the cosmetics mean nothing to me I need my vehicle to operate mechanically and safely just as it did before I was hit. Weeks go by and still no word. Once again I call them and I was told was that they completed cosmetic work prior to even looking at the mechanical work and were still waiting to assess the mechanical portion. On what planet would a mechanical shop perform cosmetic work prior to any mechanical work?! What if the car is totaled? I mean, I'm just a mechanic too, What do I know? We have now started a brand new year. It's a week in to 2025 and the last time I have heard about my car was at the beginning of December. If you want your car fixed correctly and in a timely manner, do not bring your car here.. I wouldn't wish this place on my enemies. Lessons learned.

I acknowledged my mistake and wasn't expecting special treatment, but the attitude and repeated comments were unnecessary. Customer service matters just as much as the quality of the work. A professional explanation of the scheduling impact would have been sufficient. Because of this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

The side window was done at our house. The dash window had to be done at their shop as it had to be recalibrated. We have a Subaru which can be tricky to recalibrate. But they did an excellent work on it. Unfortunately coming back yesterday from Nebraska, our dash window was hit by a rock in Oklahoma. Safelite sent an estimate suggesting I let them change out the wiper blade (for about $38), without ever seeing it. I declined. It turned out that the entire wiper blade motor had to be replaced and they do not do that. They gave me a window of 8-12:00, so I waited all morning. The tech was an hour late. When he arrived, I reminded him that we were ONLY replacing the glass and I would be paying ONLY my deductible of $250. He confirmed that was what he understood too. After about an hour working he said he couldn't do it himself and would have to take my car into the shop. The whole point of using Safelite was so it could be done at my home. When they returned the car, the tech asked for payment and I gave him my credit card. He waved it over his phone and started to leave. I asked if I didn't need to sign it or something, he said no, so I never saw it. I reiterated it was just for $250 correct? He said yes. Shortly after he left I received a text receipt showing they charged my account $287.88. I immediately called them and said they had overcharged me, that I only had to pay my deductible of $250. The girl who answered the phone put me on hold and called someone else. Then came back and said they would check into it and get a refund to me in 7-10 days, if necessary. I said that was not okay. I wanted a credit issued immediately. They said they couldn't, so I placed a dispute with the credit card company until a refund is issued. I do not trust this company. They tried to upsell me and were told multiple times that nothing additional was wanted, and they provided nothing additional but they still charged for it anyway.
