I dealt with this auto repair body shop last year during 11/25 when I was rear-ended in a car accident on I-95 North towards Baltimore on 11/3/25. This is Geico's preferred car body shop. The location is great but the customer parking is wicked terrible. I know the majority personnel here which are experienced car mechanic professionals who know their jobs. However, William Sanchez, the GM **must further train his staff** on following through on their BROKEN promises to the customer. Numerous times especially dealing with JC who promised me to follow up but he failed like a slap in the face. I constantly need to follow up with JC even though I gave him one week to research and follow up on my car requests for my Honda HR-V 2025 Red Milano car. I don't know if the value is the cheapest in town cause my car insurance picked up my tab. In summary, I'm sure they can be exceptional customer service but many times I get the feedback "sorry we have been busy" which you don't tell the customer. That's not my problem as it's an internal issue which tells me they need to hire more staff. I would change my rating only if they were more proactive at following through with their customers. I sent JC pictures of him getting free estimates for my car damages twice plus William the first time when I dropped off my car on 11/4/25. Three times and three strikes by the team not following through. I deal with VP's at my work in IT/Cybersecurity industry and if I don't set up calendar reminders or follow up with my clients (As they pay my pay check). They will report me to my supervisor which is terrible for my performance review for pay increase as my job is 100% customer interaction so I must follow up. read more

I had an accident out of town, had car body damages in the passenger side door and front fender.  I was traveling and worrying about how to handle this after almost half a month traveling, went back home to get the car fixed. It took them about 3 months to repair the left rear of my car. Always an excuse. Once it was done, it was obvious they had parked it untouched for a long time since there were scratches all over the trunk and my wipers had rocks trapped which completely ruined my windshield. I recently took my Hyundai Santa Fe to 1st Choice Collision for a paint warranty job. A year ago, they fixed the front damage, but the experience was terrible, and the repair was subpart--they used glue instead of the correct parts. This time, William noticed the peeling paint on the hood and promptly scheduled a repaint, completing it within a day. I arrived as a new customer without an appointment; I completed a form and they got me set up as a customer; an employee promptly went with me to look at my car; he identified what needed to be done (and what did not need to be done); they prepared an estimate; they completed the work in 30 minutes. While this was a relatively minor "fix", I would certainly return to 1st Choice Collision in Rockville for major or minor work on my car. read more

I had swerved unsuccessfully to avoid a sofa in the middle of I -95 on a trip to Philly in the midst of the pandemic and Geico suggested this local neighborhood shop to fix my cracked right front bumper when I finally had the fortitude to venture out-- I am glad that they did-- The entire staff at 1st choice from the receptionist to the manager were attentive, professional, friendly, and competent and put me at ease with their Covid safety procedures-- and when I got my Grand Cherokee back a week later with a new MOPAR front bumper it was not only spotlessly cleaned -- inside and out-- it was actually detailed and as pristine as the day that I drove it off the showroom floor! Amazing!!! Bumper paint from a previous job started peeling off in large sheets in several areas, but they did not want to honor the Warranty, stating (with no evidence) that the paint was peeling off due to the bumper getting dinged more recently. NEVER USE THIS LOCATION FOR REPAIRS. NEVER! I took my car to this location to get the damage assessed after a collision. I needed a new bumper among other small parts. I was allowed to take my car for the week while they ordered all the parts for my repair. I received a call from Norberto (Garage Manager (I would lightly use the term "manager" because he clearly does not know how to manage)) on Friday saying that my parts were in and I could drop off my car on Monday. I asked him over the phone and when I took my car in for repairs if it would be finished by Thursday, as I had plans to leave town. He assured me over the phone and in person it was a 2 DAY REPAIR. I dropped the car off Monday, they disassembled it Tuesday, and I received a call from Geico on Wednesday saying they found more damage and it should be done Friday (so already a day later than promised). Friday comes around, I hear nothing. I called on Friday and they said they were waiting on parts and it would be done Monday or Tuesday next week. I called Monday, no parts. Tuesday I called again, the garage employee had the AUDACITY to LIE TO ME about when parts were to be delivered. He said they would be in Tuesday and Wednesday. I had my Geico adjuster call immediately after I got off the phone and they told him the truth: The garage knew i needed additional parts on TUESDAY, neglected to order until FRIDAY that week, resulting in parts not in until the following THURSDAY. All in all, my TWO DAYS worth of repairs turned into TWO WEEKS because of their laziness, negligence, and inability to do their job. STEER CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS!!! read more

Used them twice because it was conveniently located and accepts my insurance. The first time, years ago, they messed up and had to redo the paint job but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But they did a poor job the 2nd time, too, and had to re-do it too. They installed a broken side mirror cap that wouldn't pass QC but they patched it in hope I won't notice. The insurance agreed they had to redo it and authorized a replacement with a brand new piece. They managed to mess up that one too touching the wet paint, allowing excessive varnish to dry on the rim of the cap forming bumps like water drops. They also chipped the new paint by the blinker during installation. I had to take my car elsewhere to fix their mistakes. Huge loss of time and money (over 2K). The front desk lady refused to give me the invoice for the re-do work. Do NOT use them! read more

My car got side swiped. It was bad, the paint came off and there were a lot of dents. I took it in to caliber collision initially and they gave me a ridiculous quote and didn't take my insurance. I might as well as bought a new car for what they caliber collision quoted me. When I left I noticed 1st choice collision a few steps away so I walked over there. I spoke to William at 1st choice collision and he gave me a quote that was so much more accurate and affordable and he notified me that they used my insurance -Geico. I left my car with William and 20 days later he gave me a call to pick up my car & that it looked "immaculate." I replied, "oh really" and thought to myself I'll be the judge of how my car looks. All I could picture at that point was how damaged it was when I last saw it. The work done was ok, a bit of over spray onto area not needing repair. The ability to find out status of repairs could be better. I never post reviews but for this i couldn't stay silent. I took my car a couple months ago after an accident to fix my front bumper. It took about 2 weeks or so, when i called to ask they said some parts were on back order however called me the next day to tell me the car was ready which was weird when they just said parts were on back order. Anyways, everything looked great when i got it back but not even 24 hours later both sides of the bumper popped off. called back and took the car again for it to get it fixed. They supposedly ordered a new bumper for it and fixed within a day. But then the bumper came off again and when i called back they refused to fix it. Service was not that great and one of the employees smelled like marijuana and was high. Never taking my car to this shop again. Now i have to fix the bumper out of pocket instead of the insurance which they didn't help either way. read more

April 2015 - My car got hit by a hit and run in a garage. The rear bumper was cracked so I called Geico and chose to visit 1st Choice Collision since they have great reviews on Yelp! The shop is convenient because they have somebody from Enterprise rent a car working on site and a Geico representative (Matt) who's also on site. Everything went well at first. I inspected the vehicle with Matt and he explained the process, the rental guy came out and he gave me a rental that i was happy with. I made sure to take a video of my car prior to leaving it just incase any additional damage showed up. (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) A week passes and my car was ready for pickup. I show up and I see that the repair was done half ass. There was some buff work that needed to be done because there was dust under the paint (not a big deal) but also the bondo slightly showed under the bumper and there was damage close to the original damage spot.. and since my car is a 2014 I want a damn near perfect job. The shop manager told me to come back in a week and they would fix is when they were less busy, He also tried to argue that the additional little dent/damage was there prior to the accident (I had proof that it wasn't since I took a video). i argued with the manager and told him that I wasn't taking anything less than perfect and I would keep my rental for as long as it took. He told me that's not the way it works and I can't hold onto my rental. I asked him if he would find it acceptable if the tables were turned and somebody were telling him what he was telling me? He told me my car would be done that same day and I could come back that afternoon to pick it up. Ok, so I came back that afternoon and the car looked great... everything was as expected and I was happy to accept delivery. Fast forward until 2 months ago, i noticed that with the weather the bondo (or whatever they used to repair the bumper) started to show under the paint after some time. I was upset about this and attributed it to half ass work.. but let it slide because what was I going to do now? lesson learned right? Well.. Unfortunately/Fortunately for me I was involved in an accident in October and my car is currently in another shop that isn't Geico affiliated. Because my car is in the shop and was damaged on the completely opposite side of the car, I called Geico to re-open my previous claim and they opened a supplement estimate. A representative from Geico came out and they agreed to have it repaired (Meaning, Geico saw that the job was half ass and required it to be done again 4 months later!!!!!!!) If that doesn't scream STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!!! enough what will. Well, maybe this will: When my new shop took off the bumper he found that the plastic pieces that hold the bumper were cracked. Yes, CRACKED!! 1st Choice Collision LLC did a poor ass job and HID damaged parts underneath the original damage. They hid the damage and did a half ass job on the repair. I'm pissed!!!!! F*C*** THIS SHOP AND EVERYTHING IT STANDS FOR!! Customers be advised! Your car may appear 'fine' but it could very well be that there is damage underneath that is being covered up. Don't go with a Geico shop that is more concerned with volume and getting you in and out, only to do half ass work and see the damage later. Make a wise choice!!! read more

I had high hopes when I was referred to to 1st Choice Collision after filing a claim with Geico to repair body damage from a hit and run and driver. The transaction started out being handled pretty seamlessly. A Geico agent was there and shortly thereafter an Enterprise rep showed up with a rental. The problem is in their actual repair and body work. The repairs did not restore our car back to its pre-accident state. They neglected to replace the bottom panel beneath the door that was completely scraped most of the way along its surface. I think they might have tried to buff it out, as time has passed the prior damage becomes more and more evident. The door panel has black fingerprints embedded on the transparent pieces that are glued on. Our car definitely was not washed or cleaned. It crushes me every time I look at it. read more

I have to say this was the BEST experience I've ever had not only in regards to repairs on an auto accident claim but with anything having to so with customer service. The whole process went so smoothly, it was surreal. Robert Reid, the Auto Damage Adjuster, welcomed us and explained every part of the process from the repair, the rental car and the pickup. Since the car was rear ended. He explained to me that they would take off the bumper and examine all the tabs and stuff behind the bumper to make sure there was no additional damage. He gave me all the paperwork reiterating the process along with contact information in the form of business cards in a pamphlet with numbers to each person involved from Geico, 1st Choice Collision and Enterprise, so that everything I would ever need was perfectly accessible in the packet. He emphasized the committment to making sure the repairs were done perfectly and guaranteed for the life of the ownership of the car. I found great comfort in that. Everyone at 1st Choice was amazingly friendly and accomodating. They called me every day to let me know the status of the repair. When it was completed 2 days later, we dropped off the rental and picked up the car which was meticulously cleaned inside and the work was perfect. Since it was a half day for my 10 year old, my concerns about being able to pick her up on time at the bus stop were put to rest as we were in and out of there in less than 5 minutes!!! WOW. Talk about efficient. While the car accident was unfortunate, the care, compassion and mind bogglingly efficient service was frankly off the charts. I wish Comcast, Pepco and Verizon would take note of what perfect customer service is from these guys. I've rarely come across service SO PERFECT that I was compelled to write a review... but this one was meant to be written. My car was repaired in a short amount of time and was returned to me with the interior and exterior cleaned. From start to finish, everything was seamless at 1st Choice Collision. My experience with 1st Choice Collision was great. I reviewed the list of affiliated shops on Geico's list for one stop handling, and this one had the best reputation. When I brought in my car, I was promptly greeted by someone from 1st Choice and the process was explained. The paperwork for my Enterprise car rental was completed while the Geico representative was finishing up with someone else. When I picked up my car, I had the same great service. I turned in the rental car and they reviewed everything they had done to my car. All in all, it was the smoothest process I've experienced with handling auto repair with an insurance company. My experience with 1st choice was top notch and I will be recommending them to everyone looking to get repair work done post collision. I was rear ended and GEICO was handling my claim so they told me I had to go to a certified GEICO repair shop, so I chose this place because it was closest to my work. I was not looking forward to the annoying process of getting my car fixed for something that wasn't even my fault. Matthew was my adjuster and he was very good at setting up my account and explaining everything before they began doing work on my car. He was super professional and friendly! Next, Tyler set me up with a enterprise rent-a-car quickly upon arrival at 1st choice. A day later my car was ready for pick up. I was only having them do minimal work to get rid of the scratches and make sure my car didn't rust. WOW was I surprised when I picked it up!! The accident looks like it never happened except for the dent that I opted to leave on there in lieu of a nice check. They VACUUMED & POLISHED my car too. The repairs have a lifetime guarantee also which is nice. Every single person that helped me, from the receptionist, to the claims handler, to the guy who did the actual work on my car, wanted to go above and beyond to make sure I had the best experience. One word TERRIBLE. Taking my vehicle that was hit by a drunk driver to First Collison I always see around my way was the worse mistake I've made in recent yrs. I towed my vehicle there after getting hit badly by a drunk driver (Close to totaling it). I started noticing zero communication from their part. I had to call and call to find out the status of appraisal, damages cost, totaled or not and whether All State (Drunk Drivers Insurance) will cover 100% due to the circumstance behind the accident. (Drunk driver was driving his dad's vehicle). Then the "fixing" began. Zero communication 2 weeks AFTER they said my car would be ready. Insurance cancelled rental a couple of times due to this. I visited the shop several times asking the status and all I keep getting is my car is almost ready. Very hard to SNAP because the owner seems like a very nice guy. So to cut the story short and not bore you. The shop and All State had an agreement behind my back that if the vehicle is not fixed by a certain date (Almost two months since my vehicle has been in their shop), the shop will be responsible for my rental. I knew nothing about this until another month later (making this 3months) when I called and COINCIDENTALLY my vehicle was done that day and ready for pick up. Upon returning the rental insurance was already cancelled and Enterprise charged my CC for $2500. Insurance won't pay and the shop won't pay claiming no such agreement was made. ON TOP of all this they replaced my bumper which had parking sensors with a regular one. My spare tire and tow package GONE. There are still dents on the side of the truck cause by the extreme impact. I eventually got an attorney only to get JUST the $2500 from the shop. Nothing else. Still driving the NOW lifeless vehicle and will be forced to purchase another one. I lost almost $1000 in attorney's fees and still ended up with a terrible job from the shop. One word, TERRIBLE. read more

This review is relative to my experiences at other body repair shops in the Rockville, MD area. I sent my car there to repair some minor scratches on my fender when another car pulled too close to me. THE GOOD: 1. The Geico rep/adjuster,Daniel, was very friendly and professional and explained whatever needed to be done and expected duration (3-days), 2. Car was fixed and cleaned/wax nicely (much to my pleasant surprise). THE BAD: 1. Nobody went over the repairs with me when I picked the car up. They just gave me the paper work and was told the car would be pulled outside for pick up. It took 4 days to get the scratch fixed and painted. 2. The place is small and the yard is messy/unkept and full of nails. I picked my car and had a low pressure on one back tire warning less than half a mile into Rockville Pike. I checked and saw at least 2 nails and 3 staple pins in 2 of my tires. My tires (apart from the one showing low pressure) had been inflated to 40psi (I keep it at 35/36psi). Several calls to 1st Choice received no responses. read more
