Ask for Isak -- you won't be disappointed! I randomly found First Choice Barber while looking for someone who could do a creative design with my haircut, and I'm SO glad I called. I was connected with Isak, and from the very beginning he was confident that he could do exactly what I was looking for. I came in with a design in mind, and Isak absolutely delivered. He was incredibly skilled, took his time, and paid attention to the details. The design came out even better than I hoped, and he kept enough length on top to give me a really fun, textured style. I walked out feeling AMAZING. But honestly, what made the experience even better was Isak himself. He was warm, personable, confident, and just an all-around wonderful person. I immediately felt comfortable with him. He reminded me so much of my little brother, which made the experience unexpectedly meaningful for me. Isak, thank you for making my haircut such a great experience. I'll absolutely be back! First Choice Barber is lucky to have you. read more

Nissan should not be cutting hair I'm afraid, showed the picture I wanted twice and it was still wrong. Cut differently on the left and right sides too. Also didn't have any product to style the hair afterward, so I couldn't even judge it until i got home. read more

I recently starting growing my beard out and wasnt sure how to groom it. She took it upon herself to work her magic. I feel like a new man. Dasha deserves an easily 5 star review. read more

Josey, my barber at first choice is fast friendly, and great haircut every time. I have been going to him for 3 years, he is aces. I travel a lot, and looking good before I go, is paramount. Cannot risk anything less than the best. When I need an unexpected hair clean up, the other barbers step in, and do great. The shop is clean and friendly. I highly recommend it! read more

Ella is the best! She is always on point with the fades! She's busy so book in advance.

Isak is the man! I've got a widow's peak and hate getting my hair cut because of it. I asked him to help me with a style that hides my hairline, and he went to work. I can't remember the last time that I was happy with a haircut, but damn I'm happy right now! Isak did a fantastic job! If you need a nice cut, go see Isak for sure. 10/10 read more

Russell from 1st Choice Barbershop has cut my hair four times now, and he is officially my new barber. I was with my previous barber for 10 years, but I recently moved and needed to find a new one. I read reviews on the barbershop and specifically about Russell, and I decided to give him a try. He is very professional, listens to your requests, and gives a great haircut. The hot towel service and light massage are an added bonus. Russell is the owner, and he takes great pride in his work as well as the entire shop. You are greeted by one or more of the barbers immediately upon entering the shop, and everything is very professional. If you are looking for a new barber or just one who is better than what you currently have, Russell at 1st Choice Barbershop is your guy. read more

Great cut. Josey is a great barber. Really cool to talk to and he will give you honest thoughts on what you want for your cut. Good vibes.

This is an excellent team. I've been going here for probably 7 or 8 years now and have never once had a bad experience. In fact, following my move I have continued and will continue to make the drive from the central city to 1st Choice. Josey Wells is the man and is highly recommended. Josey has been a friend of mine since day 1, very skillful and a family man with traditional values. Russell (owner) has been doing excellent work to maintain a solid vibe, quality workmanship and reliability throughout my entire experience. Outstanding work gents. read more

If you need a fresh fade, Isak is your guy! I've been going to Isak for quite a while now and I've never gotten a bad haircut from him. He always takes my suggestions and modifies it with his imagination and turns it into the perfect haircut. read more

Russ is the MAN!!! I have been coming here for a year and some change and when I find someone that can actually give me the cut I want I never leave. It's very hard to find someone that does it proper every single time and have been to quite a few in the area. It's true hair grows back, but after a bad cut, not fast enough. With this place you never have to worry about that. Don't waste your time anywhere else! read more

Awesome barbershop russell and his employees are super helpful and friendly will be recommending them to my family and friends

I walked in with myself and my 3 boys and they took us right in and didn't grumble about it. When I've don't this to other barbers in the past it usually turns into not the greatest gist, but Nissan took us in and had someone come from the back and start our haircuts right away. We got great cuts and overall it was slightly more affordable than other barbers I've tried in the area. I'll be going back. read more

Russell was fantastic. Super clean haircut and knowledgeable. The environment is real relaxed for all backgrounds as well

Josey gave me the best cut I've had - certainly not the most expensive I've paid. Great service.

I've been a couple of times and haircuts were decent enough until the trauma of yesterday. I had someone that after cutting everything uneven on the sides and back, after making a mess of my hair on top, I asked him to see if there was something we could do to fix the strange waves he created. He then grabbed a giant handful of hair at the very front of my hairline and took scissors to the base of my scalp with supposedly fade scissors, took one snip and came away with a giant hairball which previously was my mane. Now I look as if I'm balding terrible in one spot. Russell was on the other side of the shop and said he could fix it but don't think he realizes I started the day with a full head of hair and this unqualified individual now has me embarrassed to be seen in public. I read all these great reviews about Russell but I have to question whether the individual I had even had a license as in my half century on this earth, never had such a bad experience and unorthodox style. I'm not particular. I don't mind people thinking I had a bad haircut. Thinking I'm balding is a completely other thing however and I'm afraid to be seen in public. He also during the experience was telling me stories that were inappropriate for professional environments, or pretty much anywhere. read more

Whenever I'm in need of a haircut in Arizona, I make sure to come to 1st Choice Barbershop. Family-owned and operated, been here for years, and always providing the best service and comfort. The hot towels and massages are always a plus. If you have children, or in need of a barbershop that also specializes in cutting children's hair, this is your spot. Just look at the photos others have posted! The salon is pretty small in size, with only five chairs, but it's extremely clean and very well organized. Like any other proper barbershop, each chair is located in it's own station with a large mirror as well as a TV you can watch while getting your cut. Always welcoming, attentive, and kind. As I was waiting in queue, one of the barbers came up next to me and started to play chess with a 12-year-old kid (there are two chess tables for those waiting in queue). At 1st Choice Barbershop, they will always treat you like family. read more

I truly enjoy visiting 1st Choice Barbershop for a first class haircut and shave. Russell (owner/operator) always treats me like a VIP, and everyone there is always so welcoming. Booking an appointment during the week is always a pleasure, but I know I can walk-in during the weekends. There are always drinks, snacks, and good music/movies/sports playing. All around good vibes from a local family-owned and operated business. Highly recommend! read more

I been to 1st Choice Barbershop twice now and getting a cut from Izak been great. Really recommend this place, everyone was really friendly read more

I've had one or two good experiences there, but just as many horrible ones. They take "artistic freedom" to the Max and ignore what you ask for. I quite literally had to remind my barber 3 times what I wanted--and he still did it his way. During the cut, the barber mumbled half intelligible questions and get upset when you could not hear him. He also rudely adjusted my head during the session, jerking my neck around. My skin was buzzed twice, and he pinched my hair with clippers. Below you will find what I asked for and what I received. He was the only barber not wearing a mask DURING COVID. Will NOT be returning. Quick edit--when I went back into the store to get a refund, the manager did offer me a free cut. He had great customer service and I'll give him a chance to change this review. read more
