Called this shop (1rst Avenue Collision) to see about some minor body work and the owner, Dennis, was certainly nice / friendly - but that was about it. Dropped the car off and he said that it would be done in a week. At the end of the week, I called and Dennis said that he got busy so call at the end of the following week and it should be done. Once again, I called the following week as he suggested (trusting him that it would be done and I even made arrangements for someone to drop me off). Good thing that I called before we drove 40 minutes to his shop because, yep you guessed it, Dennis hadn't even touched my car. He said - amazingly - just give it yet another week. You get the idea. In short, the car sat in his shop for a month. In fact, the day the car was 'supposed' to be done, I called and one of his shop assistants said, 'oh, Dennis isn't even here - he went to Carlisle for the day.' Really? That's being real responsible. If you don't mind your car just sitting for weeks, months, etc. this shop is for you. I bet this car would sit in his shop for the next year and still nothing would ever get done with it. Unbelievable as we had plans to prep our car before a big event and it needed to be repaired - come on, who has time for these games? I wanted to give them a try because of the glowing reviews that I had read on Facebook. However, one has to wonder if he or his close friends simply wrote those glowing reviews because our experience was virtually insulting. The only reason why I clicked on one star during this rating was because I had to choose at least one. Otherwise, I would put absolutely nothing (or choose something in the negative). Whenever I had stopped up there to check up on my car during this fiasco, either Dennis was out of the shop, he was sitting around and 'shooting the breeze' / bullsh*tting over trivial stupid jokes, or someone would pull up and he would get side-tracked doing a variety of different tasks other than what he promised that he would do. A word of advice to Dennis: if you don't have the time to do what you said that you would do, don't waste another person's time! Try and focus on one task at hand and you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish! Customer service and word of mouth is crucial in any business and I'm sorry, nice guy, but I simply cannot recommend this business to anyone nor would I personally ever attempt to go back for the slightest work to be done. If folks are looking for a great body shop that has FAR BETTER customer service, FASTER turn-a-round time, and QUALITY work, you truly owe it to yourself to contact Jason at the 1777 Whiteford Road York, Pa. Maaco (717-516-0864). I'm not a spokesman for them or anyone, and I've never taken my car to a Maaco before - but, this particular Maaco is absolutely the best body shop that I have ever been to. Trust me as someone who has already been through the stress, save yourself the time, trouble, and aggravation from 1rst Avenue Collision of Red Lion and simply ask for Jason at the 1777 Whiteford Rd. York, Pa. Maaco and they'll treat you right. For example, 1rst Avenue Collision had my car for a month doing nothing except merely collecting dust; this particular Maaco had my car out in a whopping four / five days and they absolutely 'knocked it out of the park' and we had tons of compliments on the body work as God as my witness. Just wanted to share my experiences if it helps others! read more
