This is a properly awesome little takeaway, the chips are made from top quality local tatties and fried to perfection to make proper crisp outside moist in the middle chips, combine this with the finest fish; freshly caught locally, then lovingly fried in a thin and delicate batter and you are nearing fish and chip perfection. This is a proper takeaway meaning that there are no plates or cutlery, but the lovely staff will point you in the direction of a couple of tables and you can dig into your grub as nature intended (using your fingers and straight out of the wrappers)!
What really makes the place though is the staff, when having to abandon our evening plans of eating our fish supper, watching the sun set over nearby Land's End whilst knocking back a few cheeky beers due to one of Cornwall's not infrequent sudden gale force storms the lady suggested that we eat in the shop and had no problem with us drinking our shop bought beers inside; even when we'd finished our food and noticed the time had crept on to 10.30 (half an hour after the place was meant to shut)!
The portions are pretty large, so if your not that hungry I'd suggest a child's portion. read more
