Our only option was to move all her stuff into a storage unit and then move it again the next morning. We had help the first day, but no friends/family to help us the second (Thursday and Friday). I called a couple movers and Meadow's was the only one willing to work with us on this. It was such a relief to have a plan and they even talked me down on what I thought I was going to need - great customer service. The day of the move we were told that the apartment was indeed going to be ready so we no longer needed to go through the mess of moving things around and no longer needed the extra help, so we had to cancel. After several disappointments with both in-person Recycling Centers (1 closed due to COVID, 1 never…read morereturned my call, + 1 that has screwball hours that they don't always work) and Junk Haulers (1 Out of Business, + 1 that didn't return my call in a timely manner), I was ready to give up. Because I had a bunch of oversized boxes, along with the packaging material, it would have taken me quite a while to cut down to be able to fit into the trash container (or, for that matter, the back of my car). So, I decided to try one more place. And, man! I'm glad I did! Though, I was shocked to see a Texas phone number (that would be one hell of an expensive service call! ;-D ) on my Caller ID, I decided to leave a message anyway. And, am so glad that I did! When, Brian called me back, I explained to him what I needed hauled off. I felt the $35.00 price was well worth it. Keep in mind, he came to me, loaded the trailer, and hauled it off. Well worth it, imo. And, to make things even better, he was able to provide sane day service, and arrived about 45 minutes later. 8-) When Brian showed up, He handed me his business card. Not only was Brian professional, and friendly, he nearly came across as an old friend that you hadn't seen in years (we talked about different things, including my 2018 Road Trip, and my reasons for moving to Mville). And 52 hours later, I've gotten only 2 responses (both within 1 hour). Now, not only did Cassandra respond promptly (within 10 minutes), her response had a personal touch (it was enough to move her company to the top of the list; even had her price not been half of what the other company wanted). Even though one of the "Angels" was out on Personal Leave, she showed up several minutes ahead of the 09:00 scheduled appointment. :-) While I don't like to blow my own horn, being an almost 64 y.o. bachelor, and unlike many single men (and, from what I've heard from other house cleaners, many couples, too), I do a decent job on keeping my 2 br / 2 ba, 1,000 sq ft unit (half of a Duplex) pretty clean. But, I do need have a good cleaning done every so often (though, nearly 5 months went by since my last crew ghosted me (I found out, after texting to schedule a cleaning, that 1 of the crew, due to other commitments, could no longer do it.
