Living Pantry - Personal care "filling station" and fun household items

    Living Pantry

Living Pantry has CHANGED OUR LIFESTYLE and we love it!…read more My husband and I had never heard of a "refillery" before and we had lots of questions. Thankfully the owners were kind and informative as they took the time to answer all of our curious questions. We've been coming back ever since! This is a place where you can bring in your own containers of any size and refill with whatever product you need. Forgot to bring a container from home? No problem! They have a variety of containers of all different size and function you can purchase in the store to fill, take home, and use again and again. They have just about anything you could think of when it comes to homecare, personal care, and daily life. We especially appreciate the range of spices they carry. The garlic powder and applewood smoked salt are our top favorites. They also have olive oil, avacado oil, vanilla extract, raw honey, maple syrup, vinegar, rice, and beans just to name a few house holders food staples. A couple years back I switched from regular laundry detergent to theirs and I stopped getting little itchy patches all over my skin. I haven't looked back since! We love all of their skincare and shower essentials, the soaps are especially gentle on the skin and smell and feel amazing! I was on the hunt for a non toxic deodorant that would get the job done without disrupting my hormones. I gave the brand they carry, routine, a try and let me tell you it works wonderfully! It's easy and mess free to apply and it does the job even when I'm at the gym. This store also makes for a great place to buy presents and as a local gift shop. They have an array of PNW themed items as well as beautiful handmade pieces from local artists. My husband and I fell in love with the Lucky Animal Cups for sale here. One day we might just collect them all! Boy are we glad we stumbled upon this little shop. We love everything about it from the products for sale to the owners even to the smell of the store inside (when you go you'll know what I'm talking about). We love the no-waste mission and heathy, toxic-free products they carry that make it a safe place for us to put our health first and not have to compromise when picking out the products we use on our bodies. Visiting Living Pantry is something we look forward to every month as we restock on our essential home items and food staples. It's truly one of our happy places. They have something for everyone, so you gotta stop in and see it for yourself. I guarantee you won't be disappointed and I'd bet you don't leave empty handed either.

This is my favorite of their three locations. I can stock up on my favorite herbs and spices and…read moreteas by buying from their bulk section. Prices are less than half of other retailers. They even stock rare items like beet powder, raw stevia, psyllium seed at a fraction of the prices advertised elsewhere. I love their eco friendly natural care products and you can just buy what you need by bringing your own container or buying one of theirs in multiple sizes. I love their extensive selection of shampoos, conditioners, and facial care products and pay only for what you need. A fun shop to browse for eco-friendly products for your entire home!

Noticed this contractor had great reviews and some beautiful work on Yelp. My partner and I…read morerequested a quote on retiling two small baths and a kitchen floor. Bathman replied to our email in a day stating he was booking jobs out four months approx. This timeline worked for us so Bathman suggested coming at noon a few days later to quote. He showed up on the agreed on date but was approximately an hour late. No worries for us, but apparently our parking was problematic for the Shower Tile Crusader. When my partner greeted him as he exited his truck he ignored any polite greeting to complain that the short term parking was not acceptable if he took the job/how did we expect him to park for the job, etc. Note: we have a parkade he could use for when/if he took the job. My partner was so taken back by his attitude she wished him a good day. Bathman left in his Bathmobile without any further questions a hello or a goodbye. Never even got inside to quote as his attitude was an impediment.

There aren't many reviews for home reno companies on yelp, especially ones that focus on bathrooms,…read moreso I thought I'd drop some information on my experience with Sharam at Bathman. I had a small bathroom project that needed to be done before I moved into my new house. My realtor's bathroom guy flaked on the project, as did the first contractor I hired. Sharam managed to be the only contractor I dealt with who did the following things: 1) Provided me a quote that included a timeline (necessary for the strata) 2) Gave me suggestions for fixtures/etc. so that I didn't have to run around the city to preferred suppliers 3) Gave me good design suggestions One of the hesitations I had with Sharam was that his website has a lot of bathroom designs that were far outside of the modern aesthetic that I was interested in for my project. Additionally his online presence on review sites isn't great compared to other companies, which could mean anything. I'm happy to say that neither concern was valid, as the work looked modern and great, and he was easy to deal with, with the work coming in around budget ( I changed scope a few times ) and on time (despite the change in scope). I'd recommend him for this kind of bathroom project to anyone, he clearly knows what he's doing and he's reliable, which seems to be a rarity in anything related to house renovation. I have a few minor gripes - he was late when I scheduled him to quote the project ( he was never late again ) and my strata was wanting specific times for when loud work was happening, which he didn't provide -- in the end he kept the noise levels under control despite doing tile cutting and other potentially loud work so it wasn't a big deal
