We stopped while visiting the area and enjoyed some lovely wine tastings in their indoor patio. It was a little chilly so it was perfect to enjoy the sun and feel like you were outside while not feeling the chill. The big windows let us still enjoy viewing their lovely property. 180 estate winery was lovely and friendly staff. As soon we entered for the Discovery Pass event 1/25/25 (25 January 2025) we could smell the amazing aroma of red sauce and cheese. The pairing with the late harvest dessert Vidal (peach, honey, honey suckle) was good! Sweet but not too sweet so it went well w the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Soup was very good. I came with hubby for lunch on a Tuesday in early September. We ordered two appetizers and two mains, as well as three libations (details of food are below) We had some trouble w the service though. Before booking, I called and spoke w a pleasant woman, one of the owners. I explained that I wanted to enjoy a long lunch and also bring our dog, as I've been unable to find any other patio in Niagara region that accommodates a dog (our old mini-poodle has separation anxiety; also, on a hot day, can't leave him in car). The woman mentioned that kitchen closes at 4 pm; the restaurant must close at 5 pm I did NOT mention I was going for my birthday, the big 65--and that this would be a special event for me :) but made it clear that we really wanted to drag out the afternoon and chill. Upon arrival at 3 pm, I made it clear to the server that we had rushed around that day (drove from downtown Toronto to Niagara Falls etc) and so, we wanted to hang out til the Bistro closed and to NOT have all food at the same time. I mentioned lol that our GPS had failed when we drove into the Balls Falls area nearby and that it had taken us in a couple of circles...hubby got so irritated; also, we'd hiked to and around Niagara Falls and Balls Falls (both sets of Falls) for probably 1.5 hours in total, on a tight schedule so we would be exactly on time for the bistro: it being a TUESDAY, hardly anything else was open.... Thus my "big ask" of her: PLEASE ask chef to hold off on making our second course until as soon as he could before closing the kitchen, since hot food should be hot, and we planned to chill until 5 pm. She did not look very pleased. I mentioned that before I booked, I'd spoken with the owner in this regard. We ordered two appetizers: the selection of 3 "Italian tapas" called cicchetti and ALSO the charcuterie plate. I ordered a glass of reserve sauvignon blanc while hubby ordered a local beer. The tapas were absolutely delicious! The cold cuts and cheeses were tasty too but to save space in tummies, I set aside the (boring) mild cheddar and fruits for later consumption, and we received a takeout box. Immediately after finishing the appetizers at 3:30 pm, arrived the flatbread pizza and burger. Server advised that it had been sitting there (cooked) and waiting for us! That turned me off.... The pizza was tasty...I would have much preferred real dough, but choice was limited. Hubby's burger was "okay nothing special", he told me. He did taste truffle in the aioli. Probably because he had driven so much...he made a mistake and ordered "chips" as a side--thinking they would be fries. As well, the menu that day https://www.180wines.ca/dine-180 lists the burger elements as including chips. In Britain (where we are NOT, I will admit, lol), chips are french fries. The $6 extra "gourmet" chips were a disappointment, very salty. Like the crummy ones he buys at Food Basics and I tell him not to, because they are too salty. My second glass of wine was a sparkling rose. It had hardly any bubbles because server put it in a regular wine glass. While we were sitting there in the lovely sunshine, enjoying a view of the vineyards and dealing w being rushed, and while Fido slept happily after all the hiking...the charming owner came by. When i told her it was my 65th birthday that day, she came w a lovely champagne flute w some of the same (??) wine it in. It was quite bubbly and very tasty. SAD that the server had put my bubbly into a regular glass...was she rushing?? ...there was little flavour, too.... Had the owner NOT dropped by to visit and--to be frank--to be so nice w the additional little touch, I would REALLY have been cheesed. One turns 65 only once, and our drive back to downtown Toronto took us two hours!!.... Hardly worth driving to Niagara to get caught in that. Our bill for lunch was $152...before tip (!) For that, and to "spoil myself" and chill for a short while on my birthday, I had asked that the food arrival be paced. This was too much to ask...the server and cook had their own agenda. Thus, I have waited two weeks after the event so that this review would be more balanced and not scathing The finale: after I left the bistro, I realized I was thirsty. A NICE SMALL WINERY WITH A BIG HEART We found this place in Google as we planned to have a quick drink after lunch. It turns out to be a pleasant surprise and we end up spending the whole afternoon there! They have a fairly large patio area with tables under the shade/sun, so we get to choose according to our preference. It was a Sunday afternoon, so there was live music which made it a more enjoyable atmosphere. Nice services - our server checked in with us regularly and the owner also came by for "meeting and greeting". We had a bottle of Gamay Rosé and Pinot Grigio (it was a hot day). Both are pleasantly fruity and refreshing. I also bought home a few bottles of Cab Merlot, which certainly has more complexities and it paired well with pasta dinner. We didn't order any food (since we were so full from our lunch). Judging by what we saw from other tables, we'll certainly do that next time. read more

Formerly Di Profio Winery, it was purchased/renamed this Winter! This place is quite hidden in what looks a tucked away corner of a residential area. For a small winery, outdoor seating was plentiful PLUS they had a covered patio. Covered patio is quite large and it can accommodate big groups. From the looks of the structure, it looks as though the place has grown since it was taken over. They do serve light food (charcuterie boards, salads, flat breads, etc.) and coffee. (We ended up here after one of the wineries we were planning to go to had a water issue and couldn't do tastings.) Servers are young, friendly, and welcoming. It was quite sunny out and they only seem to have 1 covered table, but the server offered to put up a patio umbrella which was a nice gesture. Tastings were cheaper and slightly more significant in size here at $15/4 x 2oz pours. (In comparison, the previous winery we were coming it was $20/4 x 1.5oz samples.) You can select from 2 pages of their wines, so there's more flexibility! The 180 Riesling really stood out especially since it was hot and quite humid out! Charcuterie board was well presented and I liked all the elements on it. Would highly recommend this smaller, family-owned winery! read more

We went here on one weekend when they had a live band and a special menu. We ordered a charcuterie board as well as chicken wings and different flights of wine. We met the owner who told us he purchased the place several months ago and explain to us how they make the wine. This is one nice outing for anyone, we had a great time! The wines were outstanding! Our party of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our Easter brunch this past Sunday. The covered patio with the windowed garage doors allowed us to still enjoy the sun and the view while staying warm inside. Lots more seating available when the weather warms up. After starting with Mimosas made with 180's Gamay Rose, we had flatbreads, chicken tenders and a couple of sandwiches - all were really good. Staff accommodated our gluten-free needs without hassle. My husband and I enjoyed the Riesling - very crisp and nicely refreshing on a sunny day. Our guests enjoyed a couple of flights to pick out (and order!) the wine for their upcoming wedding in the summer. We've frequented 180 since the new ownership and each time we come, we see improvements across the property, on the menu and in the wines. The owners seem to really care about their guests' comfort and enjoyment while still making it feel really welcoming and cozy. Will definitely be returning for live music Sundays!! read more

Seems like a lovely place and the story of the owners was so interesting and what drew us to this spot. Unfortunately we sat at our table for 20+ minutes and watched our server wander around, passing right by our table at least 3 times. We eventually just gave up and left. Went to this small winery on a recommendation- and found it surprisingly charming. Our hostess Nicki was very polite and informative. And we had a cheese plate that was very tasty- made by Kevin. We did show up on a cold blustery day in December, and while not big or fanciful, we felt welcomed and enjoyed our tasting!
