Great sushi for an affordable price. And the coffee was good, too! What more could you want.

I came here based on a recommendation of a colleague, the service was extremely friendly and swift so no complaints on that part. We started with a bottle of sake and had several dishes, the sashimi was fresh and cheap (to Swiss standards): the tuna on it wasn't very special but I have not seen many sashimi platters which had fresh raw shrimp in Switzerland so kudos to that. Overall the food was of good quality and we were statisfied eating the recommended 3 dishes per person. However, my friend wanted a dessert so I choose a the tofu donut. Initially we were considering splitting since I don't really have a sweet tooth but decided against it since my friend wanted one for herself. Best decision ever. This was the best dessert I've eaten in a very very long time. I know that tofu doesn't sound appealing to most people but this is the most delicious creamy ice cream combined with a scrumptious fritter. My mouth waters just thinking about it. They should rename this place to AMAZING JAPANESE DONUTS and I am sure it would have a line in front of the door. I will be back just for the donut. Recommended!

Tantanmen had sesame oil flavors and the shoyu broth was very light but a bit bland for me so I added the extra sauces they had on the table. The noodles are made fresh in restaurant and they have a clear glass so you can see it being made if you're lucky. It was pretty cool watching one of the workers make it. The noodles definitely tasted great and was authentic. This ramen place is a bit on the pricier side and my friend said the prices were noticable raised but she loves this place so much, it didn't bother her. There are public bathrooms downstairs that they keep taken care of. As soon as you sit, they have clear separating glasses between tables which feels very sanitary, I love it. The ramen served is very aesthetic. I love the way they write their slogan on the nori. My favorite part is that they give you a bib to wear which was easy to put on. Both my friend and I definitely needed it because we both had soup spills on our bibs haha service was nice and they have wifi as well. This place seems to get packed very easily!

I ordered the tuna tataki and the surf and turf, and everything came out great. They have a small conveyor belt sushi on one end of the restaurant and a teppanyaki table on the other. The setup is really nice - sit at the teppanyaki if there are seats available and watch your food being cooked. The portions are generous. The tuna was seared nicely and the sauce was delicious. The surf and turf came with shrimp which had an amazing butter sauce. And the filet was perfectly cooked to medium raw - so tender. Presentation of the food was also nicely done.

We were lucky to find HATTORI SUSHI AND STEAKHOUSE right next to our hotel(Radisson BLU Hotel). We were greeted by the owner Nick who made us feel very welcome. The decor of the restaurant had an Asian flair and an ambience that was very comfortable. The restaurant had a moving sushi bar with an array of choices and Teppanyaki U shape counter. Hattori opened 5 Months ago. To start we had the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura and Ahi Tuna Tataki with a Kirin Premium beer. The Tempura was light and crispy with a flavorful dipping sauce. The Tuna Tataki was seared to perfection with the right amount of seasoning and topped with daikon/sauce. The Steak was done medium rare with a variety of sautéed mushrooms including shiitake. It was plated with a nice delicate sauce with cubed gelatin flavored with shiitake mushroom dashi, mirin, shoyu and sake. Chef Alek served us his soft and tasty Homemade bread with a marinated broccoli spread. Executive Chef Alek's creations are so tasty. We ended the dinner with shot of Yamasaki Whiskey which won a world title as best in class and Sweet Umeshu. It was an excellent meal and we felt at home with the friendly staff and owner. We highly recommend Hattori Sushi/Steakhouse and hope you all will check it out. Your taste buds will be treated to an awesome epicurean experience!

Ideal for a relaxed lunch or dinner, though best with a reservation due to its size. Pros: * Fresh, generously portioned sushi -- reviewers rave about "huge fish portions" and delicious, high-quality taste . * Top-notch ramen-- Tonkotsu and Tantanmen are consistently praised, with one reviewer noting the "delicious Tonkotsu & Tantamen Ramen, authentic flavors, carefully prepared fish, and friendly staff" . * Homemade gyoza and sauces--a highlight for many, "Hand made Gyoza. Even the sauce they serve is hand made" . * Warm, attentive service in a small, inviting space . * Great value for the quality, mid-range pricing around CHF30-40 per person . Cons: * Limited seating, as it's a cozy, compact restaurant--better reserve ahead. * Slightly on the pricier side for ramen or gyoza (~CHF10 for 4 pieces), though fans say it's worth it .

We ordered the sashimi mix, the hamachi carpaccio with ponzu, some marinated tofu and sake. We were told that they were out of hamachi so we choose the salmon carpaccio instead. The food was simply disappointing: the salmon carpaccio with shichimi sauce was not sliced thin at all. It looked like salmon sashimi with what looked like a bland black bean sauce. The sauce has not at all the spicy shichimi sauce I was expecting. The sashimi mix was even worse, it was simply sad. It consisted out of 6 slices of tuna and salmon sashimi of very low quality. I swear, I've had better sashimi at the supermarket. In addition, the waitress was rude, she was constantly chatting about on her phone in Mandarin and when we asked for a suggestion of another dish she just shrugged. I asked if they had Yakatori but she seemed to have no clue so we decided to go somewhere else to continue eating. Yes, we went to a second restaurant that evening, unfortunately that was after feeling hugely disappointed by Maki Haus and dropping 90 CHF. Not going again.

The soy sauce dishes have flecks of gold. There is even a tatami room with the sunken floor. Star #4: Great view of the Swiss countryside. We saw lots of cute cows, sheep, and horses while driving up. Star #5: Really yummy and fresh sushi and sashimi. Unbelievable to find such authentic Japanese food in the middle of Switzerland. Bonus star: Really soothing music in the background, with all my instrumental favorites--Sound of Music tunes, Scarborough Fair, etc. (Yes, I know it's cheesy, but it was the perfect complement to soothe my full belly...) I can confirm that this place definitely deserves its Michelin star. I'm glad that I found a Groupon to enjoy this exquisite meal at 50% off. Only CHF 60 for dinner for 2. :)

The Buffet for 39.80 CHF- Don't even think about it. In my opinion and the way I perceived it, it was pretty much a couple random dishes that looked like it was left overs from a party. Looked random and not appetizing looking at all. All on plates wrapper with saran wrap. Refer to my pic. 2. The Lunch Menu "Nodate" 45 CHF- This is a bento lunch which was okay. Just okay. The tuna roll was a shock and disappointing as it was cooked tuna. In my opinion, the tuna looked and tasted like it was from canned, refer to my picture. This might not be a fact, but doesn't change that it was indeed Disappointing. The tempura was not crispy fresh...it was a bit soft like it was sitting out for a 1/2 hour...which means it wasn't warm either. The beef was so so, but covered with a super thick teriyaki sauce- if this sauce was home made, in my opinion a lot of sugar might have went in the ingredients because it was super thick- that or corn starch? The sashimi was good, even though it was tiny little pieces. The waitress didn't communicate well. We were looking for some clarity on what the Nodate included and she pointed to the detailed menu and said "All of this below". It wasn't all of the below so our expectations were disappointed when we asked if the dessert was coming. She wasn't clear and she just pointed to the menu waiving her finger around. The presentation was really cute and I enjoyed that. The dishes came out of a Japanese Lunch Carrier thing. But that's about it. If you come here, avoid this restaurant and go to the other restaurant they have, but it's super pricey.
