The food prepared for morning and afternoon tea ranged from amazing to a bit meh. The buffet lunch was the same. As it was granted free of charge as part of the work training I wasn't going to complain but for the $20 it is normally, I wouldn't pay (same for breakfast). It had a few standout dishes (Caesar salad, butter chicken) but some were pretty average and given the variety on the street I would probably go for a walk. The one main downside was the coke always tasted flat which could have been a result of the juicer it's served in. Definitely not a bad place to stay. Didn't really get the chance to check out the facilities as it was cold and work took up most of my time.

It looks quite small but it is so large. The rooms are delightful and very comfortable. My daughter was coming down from the central Coast when she lost control of her car in the rain. She had to stay in Sydney as she had no way of getting back that night. I phoned and made a booking, they were so helpful and even though they were busy, they found a room from my daughter and her partner at 9pm at night. We celebrated my sister-in-law's 60th birthday at the hotel. The food was great, every course a winner. We had wonderful service, the staff were terrific. Now I go to the Spa at the hotel. It's in a separate building, right next to the swimming pool and it is really rather luxurious. They offer all sorts of things like body wraps and stone massages . The only problem is getting through to them. They don't have a separate receptionist so you have to leave a message. However, if you want to spoil yourself or a friend, there's nothing better.

Anyway, ignoring it's attempts of fame the Woolpack is, well, a rather bland hotel, despite it's age (even if it isn't the oldest). It's your typical suburban pub - pokies, sports bar, dining room, beer garden and the like. I didn't mind it, but that probably had more to do with its age than anything else. I doubt I'd visit this place again anyway.

It never occurred to be to rent an apartment as opposed to a hotel…read more I told the family why not, we are staying for a week and what better way to save on cash by preparing our own meal (breakfast or breaky). The place is great, we got the one bedroom apartment and as an added bonus we also had the washer/dryer combo in the room so one doesn't need to bring too much clothes as you can do your own wash. One of the downside of a combo washer/dryer, you actually have to hang your clothes to fully dry. The room was work great for us as the kitchen/living room turned into another room at night utilizing the sofa bed. The wait staff was friendly. There was a restaurant but we didn't eat there as there were many places to grab some grub. One of my complain will be the parking garage, I must not be a good driver since I can't navigate the tight turns. I had to back out a few turns since I can't make the rental car fit the opening. I am glad I wasn't driving a SUV because I would have damaged it for sure. The establishment was near Sydney and there was a shopping center within a ten minute drive. I would definitely stay here again but with a smaller car.
