I have used this service for 3 of my kids, but I won't be using it for my last two teenagers to get…read moretheir drivers license. A Plus Safety was fine when I used them for my oldest two children about 10 years ago, but when I tried to have my third child complete his driver's training with them it was a nightmare. First, I called ahead of time and explained that my son dealt with extreme anxiety and was also very quiet. I asked if there was a driver training teacher that could handle driving with someone who was very anxious. They assured me that they had a "couple" of drivers training teachers that would do well with a student driver who had anxiety. I scheduled the appointment, and the first drivers training went ok, but not great. She did tell me that he was very anxious and barely spoke to her, and I reminded her that I had mentioned that when I called to make the appointment. She said he needed a lot of direction and help as he was driving. Well, duh! It was his first time ever driving a car!! We practiced for a few months driving, and then I called to schedule his 2nd appointment. I reminded them AGAIN that he needs someone sympathetic to his anxiety and quiet demeanor. I brought him to his 2nd driver's training lesson and when I came to pick him up I could tell he was upset. I asked the "trainer" how it went and this grumpy old man told me that my son was "way too quiet", didn't follow directions, and "wasn't ready to be driving". He went into a tirade about all the mistakes he made during the lesson. My son immediately broke down in tears when we left, and told me that the man was yelling at him in the car, didn't give clear directions, and had him driving downtown for most of the lesson but wasn't giving reminders about things like one way streets. Hello! YOU are the teacher here! I felt like this man just sat in the car and expected my son to do all the work with no help or direction. No clear communication was used! I was so pissed, but for some reason felt obliged to still schedule our 3rd (and last) appointment for his driver training. (Looking back on it now, I should have just gone with a different driver training school for the last lesson). Anyhow, when I called to make the appointment, I made sure to request that the man who took him on the 2nd driver's lesson NOT take him on the 3rd. He did have an "ok" experience the 3rd lesson with a different teacher, but again, we were told he wasn't ready for the driver's test. I felt as if these driving "trainers" did absolutely next to nothing. And....I am happy to report that a few weeks later my son DID pass his driver's test on the first try with flying colors! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They did not help my son build any confidence in his driving, and they didn't teach him a damn thing! I am scheduling my fourth child for his driver's training, and I am looking elsewhere.

These guys over here at American truck school deserve all five stars. I had been having problems…read morewith Jiffy's truck rental and ultimately failed my test 3 times in a row. The one time I came over here, they helped me out a bunch. I doubled with another student for a few hours training with Kevin. Super informative and tests you on your knowledge and if you grasp the concept which is exactly what the DMV testers are looking for. That you understand the steps you are doing. I did my backing maneuvers well and drive for 30-45 minutes with Kevin then went to the DMV. Hour and a half later, call them to pick me up after I had passed they were there within a short amount of time. Couldn't thank these guys enough for helping me out and understanding I was ripped off by Jiffy 3 times. They're success rate on passing you is much higher than Jiffy. My buddy and his buddy tested the Saturday before I did and they both passed. Which says it all as opposed to the sketchy and unprofessional place at Jiffy. Thanks again to the staff here, I really appreciate you all and your professionalism. Edit: if you're a veteran they accept the GI Bill for a short 4 week course up to 15 weeks with no money out of your pocket.

The staff went out of their way to help me between my initial scheduling (office Secretary is amazing) to extra studying tips (my teacher Ken!) the study guide is so helpful! The staff is creative is when trying to link all the oh by the ways together when it comes to test time with acronyms. The trucks are great, clean, presentable and functional. The business owner was very professional and helpful through everything. They also offer Crane Certification, which is something I'll be returning for in the future! Overall I completely recommend this Professional Career Training School! Ken- I'm not sure if you will see this, but thank you for believing in my success and never giving up on me. Your patience really helped the entire process. See you later Pal.

New "If I could give zero stars I would" This place is a…read moremoney grab, it's not worth it and you're better off going to the community college, even if it means that it will take a bit longer plus the cost is way lower than this place. I went in for the LVN program for the first two semesters and it was terrible. The first semester they try to cram in biology, anatomy and physiology all one, within 8 weeks. I passed that semester with high grade but it was truly done on my own. The instructors just read off of a PowerPoint presentation for 3 hours, there really isn't much teaching. Also they like to test their students with NCLEX style questions which seems like it would be a nice way to get experience for the real thing, except they don't show you how to take these type of testing or what to expect. I believe at one point the instructor said they expect us to fail these tests the first few times, as if that's some sort of way to teach? I was hoping that after that first semester was over and once we got into the actual LVN courses it would get better but it didn't. Same thing, it's a lot of teaching yourself as you go, and using a lot of outside resources to learn. For the amount of money they charge, you would think that you would receive a better education, but it seems like the instructors are only there to babysit you while you teach yourself. I will say there was one instructor that actually taught some classes, Allan, he was the only one that seemed like he was there to help students. I unfortunately had a family emergency that caused me to miss a day and since I was not able to make the hours up I decided to drop out of the program, which in hindsight was a blessing in disguise. Now I'm going to Shasta Community College to finish my degree and I'm actually leaning more and getting the tools I need to make a great nurse once I'm out in the real world. Another thing to take into account is their attendance policy, you cannot miss any days, making up the hours is impossible if you have a job. They don't care what the reason is, the only thing they'll "excuse" is a family death, which you will have to provide a death certificate to prove it. The place I work at has lots of graduates from this place and they never have anything positive to say about it, which should have been my warning. Overall I would definitely recommend not going here, the lure of having part time evenings classes available sounds great especially for those that have to work full time but I promise you it's not worth it.
