I was extremely worried about passing my driver's test when I walked in for my first class a few months ago, but three classes later and I was very confident about my chances! I went here for my behind the wheel lessons and the people there were very nice. Most places will only teach you how to pass the test but, here they teach you how to be a good driver even after the test. I was very happy with my experience. read more

I've only previously used Yelp to give 5 stars to show enthusiasm for great local businesses. But I'm placing this review in an effort to protect others from having a horrible experience with this driving school. Over the years, our other four kids greatly benefitted from the solid driving instruction offered by the teachers of this driving school. Unfortunately the school has since changed ownership. Yesterday, our fifth kid had a contrasting experience with the current driving teacher. From the start, the teacher was impatient, disrespectful, and demeaning to our son, who has a reputation for his generous kind heart and intelligent respectful behavior. After hearing the specific examples of her damaging teaching style, I was happy to know that half way through his two hour training, my son had the wisdom to pull over, stop the car and get out. He called us to pick him up and we will not be going back for his other two lessons even though we have paid in full. read more

So my daughter finished her last lesson today. Her first two lessons were amazing with an older gentleman who was a retired hiway patrol !! Amazing man . He said my daughter was an amazing driver . The last instructor today was a total jack ass with control issues I suggest he gets a new job. He slammed the breaks on for no apparent reason once when she was going to go through a yellow light. And another time when she was switching lanes. He also had his hand in the wheel most of the instructions. This made my daughter very uncomfortable. My daughter is an amazing driver and has been driving the ranch since she was 8 and can drive a stick shift with no problems. I'm pretty sure this ass hole could take a few lessons from her!! So to who ever runs the driving school please get rid of this guy. He needs a job that has no authority over people because that is what he wants is to be in control of someone. read more

I had recommended my daughter to go here to complete the required pre-license requirements knowing the owner but apparently this changed. We had paid half for the process. She did her first drive and all was well. She was scheduled to do her final drive before she could attain her drivers license is when they handcuffed us! My daughter was unable to keep the scheduled appointment due to school mandate and called the business as a responsible 15 year old that she is, no one answered. She left a voice message on the service of the situation and that was it. When she rescheduled, she was told she had to pay for failing to cancel her appointment. When I attempted to discuss the situation with the new owner face to face. He said she never called and I stated she had. He turned to the lady behind the desk who agreed with him. I refused to pay but then he said that was fine but she will not get her Certificate of Completion! I was forced to pay the large and excessive fee. I later reviewed my cell phone billing confirming my daughters claim revealing that my daughter did indeed place the call taking a few minutes on that call. I was furious. WHAT A CON! The Instructors were great! Too bad for the new owners! read more

I went here in the mid-90s. I remember the instructors were very kind and patient, and didn't chastise me when I almost crashed their car.

There is no better place to go through the process of learning to drive than this school. The employees are patient and encourage the students when they are doing well. I had Dave for all 3 of my lessons and he was an amazing instructor. He makes the experience worth your while with jokes and good conversation while teaching u a necessity of living. As a 16 year old who had just completed their six hours of required behind the wheel lessons, I can say that it was a pretty nice experience. Over my three, two-hour lessons, I had the pleasure of having Dave teach me twice and the not-such-a-pleasure of having a blond, older lady teach me. Complements first of course. Dave was a dynamite driving instructor, being my teacher the first and third lesson. He had constant reminders about rules and such that stuck without getting to the point of being annoying. He was super laid back and easy to drive with. Personally, I do not respond well to criticism even if it is constructive, which he didn't do at all. He didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. Overall, 10/10 instructor. On my second lesson, however, I had a very unpleasant experience. When told my instructor was going to pick me up about 15 minutes after my school day had ended at the school, I was called in the middle on the day (in class which ultimately got me in trouble) and had to push my pick-up time by 30 minutes. "Well, what am I going to do for 45 minutes?" i thought. Just sat around. Once it was about time I walked to the agreed-upon pick-up area and waited there. about 10 minutes go by and now they're about five or six minutes late. I waited for about 7 more minutes and finally decided, "screw it." I walked back all the way to my school and I happen to notice a car that had the Redding driving school logo in a different street kind of around a corner. I walked up and asked if they were expecting *enter my name* and she said yep. She moved over and murdered "Your a bit late huh." Your joking right? The two hours i had to spend in that car was a living hell. I already said I didn't respond well to criticism, which was her way of teaching I guess, and when I'm already POed it's a bit hard to focus. The lesson finally concluded and she didn't offer to drive me or let me drive myself home so i had to call and get a ride. I gave 4 stars because I'll chock most of my bad experience to me not having clear head space, and hopefully from an unbiased opinion, it wasn't that bad. read more
