New "If I could give zero stars I would" This place is a money grab, it's not worth it and you're better off going to the community college, even if it means that it will take a bit longer plus the cost is way lower than this place. I went in for the LVN program for the first two semesters and it was terrible. The first semester they try to cram in biology, anatomy and physiology all one, within 8 weeks. I passed that semester with high grade but it was truly done on my own. The instructors just read off of a PowerPoint presentation for 3 hours, there really isn't much teaching. Also they like to test their students with NCLEX style questions which seems like it would be a nice way to get experience for the real thing, except they don't show you how to take these type of testing or what to expect. I believe at one point the instructor said they expect us to fail these tests the first few times, as if that's some sort of way to teach? I was hoping that after that first semester was over and once we got into the actual LVN courses it would get better but it didn't. Same thing, it's a lot of teaching yourself as you go, and using a lot of outside resources to learn. For the amount of money they charge, you would think that you would receive a better education, but it seems like the instructors are only there to babysit you while you teach yourself. I will say there was one instructor that actually taught some classes, Allan, he was the only one that seemed like he was there to help students. I unfortunately had a family emergency that caused me to miss a day and since I was not able to make the hours up I decided to drop out of the program, which in hindsight was a blessing in disguise. Now I'm going to Shasta Community College to finish my degree and I'm actually leaning more and getting the tools I need to make a great nurse once I'm out in the real world. Another thing to take into account is their attendance policy, you cannot miss any days, making up the hours is impossible if you have a job. They don't care what the reason is, the only thing they'll "excuse" is a family death, which you will have to provide a death certificate to prove it. The place I work at has lots of graduates from this place and they never have anything positive to say about it, which should have been my warning. Overall I would definitely recommend not going here, the lure of having part time evenings classes available sounds great especially for those that have to work full time but I promise you it's not worth it. read more

Would give it a 0 if I could. Horrible place. Teacher made a comment about Hispanics being "greasy." Super expensive and they don't have the proper equipment. The career services person (amber) was no help at all. Never answered any texts and waited last minute to do anything. Daisha was the only person there who was great, amazing instructor. Super easy to talk to and was always willing to help. Save your money and don't come here. Stepful will be your best bet. read more

I attended the LVN program and just completed. The teachers were great and we had a great time. I learned a lot.

This review is specifically for the LVN program. I hate to make this review but I recently graduated from the LVN program and I'd like people to have fair warning before signing up. Bullying from fellow students and even teachers occur almost daily. When faculty are made aware, they tend to sweep it under the rug. Most of the LVN classes have gotten into fights, the teachers have no control over the classroom and there are no repercussions from higher ups. Clinicals and skills are at times a learning environment, however I can't tell you how many posters we made during "clinicals" and skills instead of running through scenarios and practicing on the manikins. This program is becoming popular and the class sizes are huge, with not enough teachers to have the correct student to teacher ratio. Half the class can't hear the information and can't learn what is being said because it's too loud and impacted. This program offers a high price and an accelerated course, but the classroom and education does not reflect that at all. This is not a safe and conducive learning environment. I would not recommend this LVN program. read more

I was interested in possibly attending this school for the professional medical assistant program, you can't find much about what the program entails or offers online, so you have to give them your contact info and wait for them to contact you. I set up an appointment to come into the school and meet with admissions staff. I went in and basically sat down and all that was said was, "do you have any questions?" No run through of what was offered, expected or much of anything. Just that the program was 10 months long, hybrid schooling in person and on computer, scrubs and books included and it was over 18k to attend. I didn't get a feel of what it would be like to attend classes here or any kind of layout of the program and what we would be learning. I felt rushed and I felt like it would not be worth my money if they can't be bothered to explain the program. Cal regional offers the same program at 1/6th of the price. read more

Be careful they will get all grants they can I went for medical assistant. Then refuse you going to the school you are stuck paying for education you don't get. It's just a certificate they print and nothing is transferable. Teachers do date students to get you through so that might help you. Same education you can read a book or go to you tube and study for same education. Good luck if you choose be careful. read more

I agree with the post Below. I "graduated" January 2012 from the AMA program, you do not get a degree, just a certificate. In the beginning they promise that you get people coming in the school just to look for employees and that if a certain percent of the students do not get a job in the field of study the program will be cancled. I only now of 2 or 3 students out of about 30 that got a job in a doctors office. The offices don't care about a certificate from IOT they care about experience, witch IOT dose not give(no matter how much they tell you they will) I was alos promised that they help you find a job after you are done. The biggest help I got was being emailed week old craigslist adds that I had already applied for. The classes are not designed for you to retain any information for over a month since you start a new mod.(class) every 5 weeks. but you test on a different subject every week and never touch on it again There is really nothing else to say besides this "school" is a complete FRAUD!!! All they do is take your hard earned money. When I went it cost $18,000. and it went up every 5 weeks. I only know this from talking to the new girls that would come in my class. After almost 2 years searching for a job at a medical office I gave up and got a jab at an industrial office no problem. Everybody says the medical field is always hiring, that may be true but only for people with hands on experiences more than a 5 week externship. Whatever you do.. I recently graduated from IOT in Redding California. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly towards all students. The HVAC staff were some of the best if not the best in their field. The staff is always very warm and welcoming every morning as you walk through the door. The School is the most veteran friendly school I have ever found.
