Bait and Switch…read more When PES Solar was trying to sell me a a new system in 2022, I expressed concern that I'd be replacing my roof in a few years and it might make sense to wait. "No problem", I was told, "If you buy from us and later use our roofing company, we will take down and reinstall your panels at no charge!" That assurance made me decide to go through with the $40,000 purchase, but not being a fool, I had the owner, Wendi Miller, sign a contract addendum assuring me they'd honor their word when the time came. A few months ago, needing to replace my roof, I reached out and got a bid from their roofing company. While it was the 2nd highest bid I received, it would've made sense to use them since the panel takedown and reinstall would be about $10,000. However, they refused to honor their contract and only offered a $50 discount per panel which made the price about $8000. Phone calls and emails to Ms. Miller or anyone in management were ignored. No one had the courtesy to even take responsibility for breaching the contract. When I give my word, that's it- you don't even need a contract. This contractor will sign their name on whatever to make a sale and then disregard it to make a buck. Avoid at all costs

He made me feel comfortable and I can honestly say that my anxiousness dissipated as he explained what may have happened. He went up on the roof and was up there for only about 15 minutes. He came back to the door and said he found the problem and patched the area. He said he believed it was a nail popping out and protruding into the shingle and advised me to not fix the ceiling immediately so I could watch for any additional problems in that location. Collis told my HOA they don't cover pressure washing in their warranty! This isn't a warranty issue! They left my house a mess! However, like many companies, it appears HD is now a slave to the good ol' American dollar. Like other roofing companies, I believe HD is running the business model of: hire as many sales reps as possible and when they burn out, keep their commissions! Several commissions have been modified or just flat-out denied for any variety of reasons they can come up with. Be aware that your sales representative may end up working for you for free, so be kind! To all existing customers: it seems negative reviews might get your job completed, even after the office/rep stops answering your calls. When I expressed my concerns about them not being a local company, they drove down (3 hours) to give me some face to face time. I dealt with Shawn and it was a pleasure. He thoroughly explained the process to me and multiple options for payment. No high pressure sales. He was also the team leader that showed up on time to our home to get the job done.. He and his crew were all fantastic. They made what is by nature a very messy job as manageable as possible. They took all necessary precautions and cleaned up after themselves.
