Had a fun meal at 14 North last night. Started with a great appetizer, queenies (Manx scallops) with bacon. Yes, everything with bacon is great but these were prepared perfectly, had nice complexity of flavors, and was a very ample portion. For the main, I had hake, which was a special of the day. Although I felt a preparation I had at Filbey's was the best hake ever, this was very well prepared and again perfectly. The highlight for me was the cheese platter. They offered a very interesting combination of local and European cheeses and the three I had were perfect. It was a great way to finish a fine meal. read more

We neglected to make reservations on a Saturday night but they kindly squeezed us in. Thank you. We started the meal with sweet and spicy mixed nuts then some "queenies" scallops. I had a vegetarian risotto while my daughter had monkfish. Both were very good. I woud have to rate this one of the best meals of our whole trip. The only disappointment came thru a language barrier. My daughter asked if they had choc. chip cookies and they said most certainly. She was given chocolate cookies with chips in them...not the same...sorry. read more

A hidden treasure amongst the dross on the seafront of Douglas - take some time to walk into the cute harbour and you will find a myriad of dining options that offer a little more. 14 North is a cute cafe/restaurant with a very modern vibe. We had some seriously tasty fresh tomato and basil soup, with a cheese and tomato flatbread - to which the Silent Reviewer proclaimed it was the best pizza that he had eaten in IoM (he is somewhat renowned for his pizza obsession)... and it wasn't even a pizza - with a delicious tomato sauce, I couldn't really disagree. The lady serving us was charming and efficient, and made every effort to see to our needs. A lovely little place for lunch/dinner. read more

Fab! I was sat on the table next to the window on a nice night and the views were amazing. I had steak which was so succulent. The service was adequate but they were quite busy so I can't really be to harsh to them. The atmosphere really is wonderful and lit perfectly, not to bright not to dark, it's great. The workers were quite happy to be there and to answer any queries we had, which is wonderful. I recommend it. read more

Went over TT week and as usual the service was wonderful, the menu tantalizing and the food mouth watering.

We ate here June 21 and everything exceeded expectations. The server was attentive and very helpful answering any questions we had. I had the tomato, pepper, smoked paprika soup. One of the best soups I have had. Then I had the salmon Wellington which was also excellent. My wife had he Beet and Goat cheese salad and the lamb both of which she enjoyed. The meal as one of the most memorable meals on our trip. We highly recommend 14 North. read more
