They are not cheap but if you are looking for a piece of art to add to your collection, they have several artists that I would not mind adding to my house. The hostess is really friendly and she welcomes you to walk around and look at all the rooms. The one that I liked a lot was the top floor. It feels so cozy that I would not mind staying here to have a drink while I look around. Worth the visit if you are in town.

The opening was the most positive experiences I've had at an art gallery. It's a beautiful old house which alone is worth the visit. Well maintained and decorated, while being very fancy it still is comfortable. The staff were great. We were welcomed in and felt at home right away. More than once the staff engaged with us and were excited about the show and even made a big deal to talk about my work. The art work was very well displayed and usually well lit. The fact that it is a home I think shows the work off in a more realistic setting. Collectors can see how it will look in a room. There seemed to be a fair number of sales- though I would have been happier if I had sold. The hors d'oeuvres from a local caterer were the best I've had at an opening. It was had to not get carried away and hover over the food. They had very good live music which entertained large crowd but was not so loud you could talk or discuss the show. They really know how to host a show and put on an opening. Now if they could sell my painting for me!

I live in Chicago, however I refuse to have any framing done in Chicago. I hold out for Charley at…read moreNorthside. Charley is a *cool* guy, very patient, easy to work with and he does amazing work. Before making suggestions for framing, he will ask questions to help understand your style and personality. Charley will offer ideas for your framing that are unique and atypical - he has come up with things I would have never thought of! I took photos/artwork purchased on Etsy.com and/or art fairs to Charley that are worth no more than $10-25. After Charley's touch, the artwork looks *expensive.* I've even got him framing a few greeting cards that I've had laying around for years and years - these cards hold special meaning to me. If you need framing, do not go to Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics or any corporate retail outlet for that matter, VISIT Charley. I can't imagine what my pieces would look like if framed by some over-aged woman working part-time at Michael's in her retired life.....

Had such a lovely experience getting things framed, sadly due to covid it might be a bit before I…read moreget my art back - thanks metal imports haha. But regardless, 10/10 will be back to get everything framed. Not only were the prices amazing (probably not the cheapest but you pay for quality) but the conversation was great and the vibe was phenomenal. If you actually like your art... please get a good frame and get it from Northside Galleries.

The art gallery is broken down into a few spaces, all winding into each other through doorways. The space is also used for events, weddings, receptions, yoga classes, you name it. I was lucky enough to check it out last Friday during the opening ceremony of "Crop It" - an exhibit being put on by the Visual Arts program at IPFW. The displays looked beautiful in the space and the talent was immense! They had a bar set up serving beer and wine (I don't think they can serve spirits?). The beers were local which was a plus! Parking can be an issue so be prepared to park on the street / potentially several blocks away. Can be a bit sketchy at night. Overall the space was lovely and I can't wait to attend another event or check out a new show sometime soon!

Now I'm going to watch for future events here just to see and learn about the talented artists in our community. What a nice venue with creative people who seem to care very much about bringing together community and connecting people. Clearly they are passionate about what they do and the artists they support. Look for parking behind the building and the main entrance is there also (even though the street address is Fairfield Ave, parking is behind). A daylight visit is also in order to see the murals painted by local on the buildings exterior. I'm not sure how often artists works are rotated, but I asked how to learn about things happening there and was told the best way is to follow the Wunderkammer Company on Facebook. If you have an interest in local artists, check them out.
