I don't know if it's because they cater to tourist that makes this place so special but I left here feeling very full and very happy from the cultural performances. What was also fun was after the performances they invite the visitors from different regions of the world up to the stage and taking a picture with the dance performers. It provided a great keepsake to take back home. They also perform different songs from around the Philippines and the different dialects they speak and where they are from providing an educational opportunity. One of the songs was from the region, where my mother's father is from which is why I took a trip to the Philippines to learn more about my grandfather's culture and homeland. This touched my soul deeply and will never forget my time at Barbara's. The food was outstanding and very tourist friendly. I went up two times to partake in the delicious offerings from the buffet. I think the best thing about this place too is to have experienced all of this in an air-conditioned building. It was a nice reprieve from the 90+ degrees Fahrenheit with humidity weather that I endured in Manila. I also attended another restaurant with the cultural performance, and it was outside, and the experience was not as special due to the weather. There are girls working most nights. Friendly expatriates. And a cop working the door to maintain order. Most folks spoke English. Ended up paying 300p for a couple of drinks. Would visit again. There are poor kids begging outside. I just look away and say Hindi Hindi Hindi (no no no) and keep walking. Inside there were girls singing American songs all with choreography and smiles. Other folks were on the dancefloor getting down. Smoking is allowed indoors. But if you prefer not smelling it the non smoking section is behind the bar.

He studied in La Salle and this has been his favorite haunt for years, what with steak being his comfort food and him swearing that this place serves the best steaks in the city. I thought he was just being dramatic but hot damn, when that T-bone steak was lifted off the grill and dumped on my plate, I saw the heavens open up while angels sang hallellujah. I only ordered a regular T-bone, but it was so big there was barely room on the plate for the rice. How big are their large steaks then? They also served their steaks with a pitcher of buttery gravy, all for me. I promptly drowned my steak in the gravy and dove in. They also had display stands for cakes. I wasn't able to try one while I was there, but they looked really delicious. I'll definitely check them out next time, because you just know there's going to be a next time.

With that, I got the impression that the steaks their serving will really be big. True enough, I got mine almost the size of a big plate. For P150 that time, I got a medium rare steak. As soon as you enter The Barn, you'll see entire table filled with people and pitchers of alcoholic drink, while loud party music is being played in the background. You can barely even move because of the amount of people inside this place. Unexpectedly, I enjoyed the whole experience. You can do all types of crazy shit there and no one would even judge you for it. If you're the type of person who enjoys this kind of nightlife, The Barn Manila is the place for you.
