Crittenton has a strong reputation in our community and amongst our partners in law enforcement, child welfare, and mental health, for doing whatever it takes to support and build resilience in some of our most at-risk and vulnerable youth. It is for this reason that we are the go-to provider for youth and families that demonstrate the most need. Nationally, Crittenton has an 130+ year legacy of serving and advocating for children who have been marginalized, abused, exploited and neglected. Here in Southern California, we recently celebrated our 50th anniversary, a milestone unfortunately not experienced by most social service agencies in our field of practice. Upon bib pickup I learned that the rescue mission accepts donations, offers housing assistance, basic needs assistance and health services to at risk and homeless individuals and their families in Orange County. They also have onsite facilities for housing support, counseling, and educational opportunities. A great organization supporting so many in our community.

They fill a shopping basket overflowing with fresh fruit and vegetables, canned goods, dairy products, boxed and packaged items such as pastas, beverages, breads, desserts, and even eggs. You never know what you will get, but it is worth hundreds of dollars in value! They have it down to a smooth running system, with the cars coming in, getting loaded up and then exit out. The traffic gets a little backed up on the street, but that's expected. Everyone working is volunteering their time, so people waiting in their cars need to be patient and kind. In fact, why not come volunteer yourself!

But this school really helps kids from infants to their adulthood with learning disabilities. The preschool, in particular, is for everyone. What is really helpful, they use the same helpful techniques for children with learning disabilities in their curriculum. It is like equipping the teachers with super learning powers. It is really to accelerate the learning process. I love how diverse the students who attend this school and teacher ratio is amazing. You have the option of sending your child in for 2xs or 3xs or 4xs or the full the week. The cost to send your child there is extremely reasonable. I was so surprised! Their school schedule is like Centralia's school schedule and has summer school as an option. The only reason why my son has not enrolled yet is my son is receiving certain services from our insurance that is practically the whole day. Once those services go away, we certainly enroll him. I would just schedule a tour and once you go on it, you will be thrilled and ensured that you want your child to attend their preschool program. Oh yeah, their OT class gym is amazing. You should ask for it when you go on the tour to check it out.

Many items are used yet still valuable to those that don't have. Everything from refrigerators to chairs dishes and pantry items. For your furry friends they have leashes, collars, cat and dog food and more. Although they serve all vets in So Cal, they can only pick up donations in Orange County. If you are able and willing they need volunteers whenever possible. If you are a veteran in need just bring your veteran ID or DD214 and valid ID to receive goods.
