I am a beginning oil painter and have learned so much in his classes. No need to be self-conscious about whatever level you may be in your painting. There have been beginners like me and people who have attended art school. His teaching style is relaxed, friendly and very supportive. He gives excellent examples, he demonstrates by painting and explaining clearly why he is applying paint in the way that he does. He really meets each student at whatever level they might be. The plein air class was fantastic. On Saturday we painted in Laurelhurst Park and on Sunday we painted at Mt Tabor. I highly recommend taking classes at High Low Art Space!

The nude figure drawing in the mornings and the clothes/costumed figure drawings in the afternoons. They also offer several different, affordable drawing/painting classes depending on their schedule, which is so easy to find online. On the weekends that I've attended, the models are great and professional, they have both male and female models and if you check out their instagram, they usually post who the model is going to be on the clothed/costumed figure drawing, plus they list the name of the models for the nude figure drawings on their website. The place is big, as well as the stage and the lighting is very nice. Lots of seating (old movie seating on one side, a big sharing table, and 2 or 3 smaller tables with folding chairs and "horses") and lots of easels, you can also borrow a drawing board and or clips, if you forget yours. Otherwise, come prepared. It's $15 for the weekend sessions, but don't forget to tip the model. They are so, so good at posing for artists ( foreshortened poses, posing with props, etc) and holding whatever pose they are at. They have a couple minutes of gesture poses in the beginning and then they will hold a pose for 30 minutes at a time. Never the same pose, but very impressive. Especially for someone like me with adhd, who can't even sit still long enough to finish this review in one go. Minus one star for letting people in 30 minutes after the session has started, because of all the easel and supplies of that person setting up can be very disruptive. Also I wish they would put photos (even just a passport photo will do) OR just add make or female, of their models online, so I have an idea of who's going to model that day. There are days that I just do not want to have to even look at a penis, and I'd want to know if that is what I'll be seeing that day, you know? No hate on penises, just, sometimes it can be a bit much. Having the names listed doesn't necessarily help all the time, especially with gender neutral names. Other than that, I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to do some live drawings. Also check out their other art classes.

The tags, my task, were just good fun. Lots of room to be creative and simple to complete without assistance. The passport covers were another story. The other 2 needed assistance a lot, especially during the stitching, which took quite a bit of time and was a tad hard on their hands. The employees were more than willing to provide the assistance they needed though. There were definitely a couple other crafts I would've enjoyed trying. Fabulous concept, pleasant employees, and a cool way to spend a few hours...especially for those of us very much out of our comfort zone.

Bullseye Glass Is a familiar name in the Dallas, Texas área among glass artists, so coming to the…read moreBullseye Factory and Resource Center Is a huge bucketlist item. My trip did not disappoint! I was able to see glass sheets being made and take a tour of the factory and Resource Center. The staff was friendly and helpful and I had a whole new appreciation for the amount of work and quality controls that go into each sheet of glass. I really appreciate that the company works hard to retain their employees and create an atmosphere of collaboration. Seeing the thought that goes into creating the glass not to mention the choreography of the adding and mixing (and yes, I DO mean choreography!) to make the combination of colors. I can't wait to visit again and see and do more. Thank you for a wonderful and unforgettable first visit!

Joanne is a hilarious lady with good taste in music, and the studio felt like home with its large airy windows and charming array of strange knick knacks... not to mention the gorgeous paintings of everything from traditional nudes to lesbian tango cherries. This class is for an explorative soul who likes learning new things and working in a peaceful atmosphere among friends.
