It's just a five minute walk from the main train station, and 4 euros will get you a fantastic durum or donor kebab. I personally prefer durum kebabs (the long, wrap style Mediterranean sandwich) but at Semmy's you absolutely have to go for the donor version of everything which is served on a huge but light and airy crusty bun. It's shaped like a kaiser roll but has the texture of a nice French baguette. My personal favorite is the donor kebab with lamb, although the lady loves the donor falafel sandwich. The fries are solid as well, although they clearly have no idea how much ketchup Americans like to use. Overall, very American friendly and the guys there are quite sociable and take pride in their product. Don't expect fast food service times, because these guys take care to slice up fresh tomatoes and cucumbers for each sandwich, and even place the ingredients strategically in the bread to make it easier to eat. Not going to lie, we came here on our second day in Amsterdam and kept coming back for four straight days.

The portion was HUGE and this smoked salmon was the best I had on my trip (and I just so happened to eat a ton of smoked salmon since it's a very popular brekkie/brunch option here). The corn bread, baked in house, was to die for. I shouldn't have eaten that whole sandwich, but I did... and then I moved onto the salad. The dressing on here was super fruity (maybe blueberry? Not sure, but it was delicious). Unexpected flavors but totally genius. A different and much friendlier waitress brought me my check, and then I paid. When I left, the first unfriendly waitress almost chased me out the door for not paying the check (with her) until her colleague also confirmed I had already paid. Guilty until proven innocent at this place, apparently.
