I was told the consultation was free. During their inspection they hit a reset button and the water heater began working.
They came into the living where I was and the one plumber was starting to say something like, "We can get this fixed" when the younger plumber interrupted him and said, "The water heater is working now. It was just a sensor that got tripped and all we did was hit the reset button".
I was pleased to hear this, but I also wasn't sure when the water heater had been flushed before, so I wanted to go ahead and hire them to flush the water heater.
I agreed to pay $448.90 for the flush, which is already very expensive. They showed me the price of $448.90 on their iPad. Then later after they started working they came for me to sign off on the work. I was presented the iPad showing only a place to sign. After they left, I got an email with a bill showing an additional $356.50 diagnostic fee that was never disclosed.
I immediately called saying the bill was almost twice as expensive as I expected. The customer service rep on the phone said she would call the owner and then call me back. She called me back a few minutes later saying they owner is going to refund the diagnostics fee.
I called again on June 10th, 11th, 22nd, 29th, 30th, and then on July 1st to check on the status of the refund since by bank statement was still showing the original charge- Each time she told me the owner was going to refund the diagnostics fee, but they never did. It's now been three weeks, and they have made no progress on refunding the diagnostics fee. I am now having to go through my bank to dispute the charges.
Do not do business with these people. Their practices are shady. I did notice in the moment it was weird the way the plumber was presenting the iPad. I believe he was being intentionally deceitful in that moment, but now the owner has proved to be dishonest as well. read more
