David's Plumbing Services - Current state of my bathroom as I am working on it myself.

I had David come out to repair a tub faucet. He arrived without the proper tools to address it (as…read moreexplained shortly), poorly rebuilt the hot water valve stem by not tightening the valve properly, and it was a new OEM valve stem I supplied, claimed the cold-water valve stem was "stripped" (Which I have since removed with the same tool as the hot water valve stem without issue; thus, he didn't even work on this side). His rebuild of the hot stem, which maintained the leak he was called for, was completely undone after my wife used the tub only four times, causing water to spray down into my office and spraying onto the electronics within my office. This shows he did not test the rebuild of the valve, especially after not even getting rid of the leak he was hired to repair. His service of less than two hours cost $200 in service time (no parts supplied by him, as I purchased it all myself, an additional $30) and only a little over a week later, hundreds more electronics equipment, and some equipment still unverified as working or not. A little later than that, an additional $600 in materials to fix this myself has been accrued in addition to time I generally don't have (the reason he was hired in the first place). I was informed he did not have insurance when I had discussed with him a claim that was going to be filed, then when I offered a reception of a refund of my money, in lieu of dealing with insurance on the insured equipment so neither of us would need to deal with that, he since stopped responding to messages, just after giving me a spiel about how he's a "small-timer," which, in my assessment, should mean he would definitely want to have insurance, as it serves to protect himself & his customer from potential mistakes or mishaps. I have since been accused of "scamming him" because I don't think someone should keep money for incomplete, ineffectual service, not even, in fact, finishing the job the person was hired for. However, my saying that I would have to submit a poor review of his service and communications since service, I was met with, "I haven't done anything for that [Yelp page] myself, so I don't care." That's fine. Stand by your work product. You did not even finish the job of what you were even asked to come in for (the initial leak), David. You should be ashamed of yourself. I wasn't going to add additional pictures to this, as I thought the verbiage was clear enough, but after your feeble accusation, I thought I'd provide the receipts. Vote with your wallets, folks. Bad service and anti-customer practices should not be met with return customers or continued requests for service.

We've used Lance for our plumbing needs for approximately 8-10 years. Late in July 2024 our hot…read morewater tank started leaking and it apparently wasn't repairable. Lance came by and took some measurements and sent a relative (I believe his nephew and the nephew's son) to our house to replace the tank. I have no problem with the work that was done. The tank has been performing as it should. We were charged $1540.00 for the job. I thought this was a little steep. Lance had been here no more than 15 minutes and the installers were here no more than 2 1/2 hours. Lance's prices have been a little high before, so I don't know if the labor charge of $500.00 was reasonable or not. I do know I was overcharged for the tank and drip pan. I was told these were purchased at Lowe's. I checked with Lowe's and the tank cost $569.00. Lance charged $840.00 for it. The most expensive drip pan Lowe's had was $39.00. I was charged $200.00 for this. I phoned Lance about this and he told me he hadn't seen the invoice. I offered to send him a copy and he said he'd look it over and call me back. I still haven't heard from Lance and I don't expect to hear from him. Excluding the steep labor charge, I know I was overcharged at least $432.00. I had asked Lance to consider refunding at least part if not all of this amount. I'll leave this to the readers of this review to decide whether or not to hire Lance. I was overcharged at least $432.00. I think you know what I'll do the next time I need a plumber !
