When I called to get an estimate on removal I specified exactly what I had. This included large pieces of glass and cans of paint. The rep on the phone tells me a small truck load would be minimum of $148. I had 2 small shelves, small glider,small desk and a few others small items. They could hve been loaded into my Chevy silverado just fine. When the guys get here the price goes up to over $1100. The guys start talking about a $20.00 recycling fee for EACH can of paint and recycling fee for the glass. Not once did the rep mention recycling fees over the phone. Very deceptive company. After I complained to the guys that came out they decided to wave the recycling fee and got the price down to $798. Still too much for what I had to pick up. I'm the first to admit it. We were lucky. In preparing to relocate, I donated a bunch of stuff to Goodwill. As we got closer, we called Salvation Army to pick up the remaining furniture, all of which was in good shape and happily accepted. Since nobody takes beds, we ended up with 1-800-GOT-JUNK. There's no denying that it's expensive. (I did find a coupon on line which they honored.) What I like is their reliability, the ease of setting up -- and in our case changing -- the appointment, and the men who work for them. Service with a smile. We were quoted a price by phone which was honored, not counting the discount, which I discovered the day of. I received a call at 6pm saying they were 20 minutes away, needless to say they never showed up, called to let me know they couldn't make it, or called me back when I called them at 8pm. I booked them online but decided to just rent a van and do it myself. I got a text inquiring reason for cancelation. I explained my situation. Last time I paid $380.00 for an almost filled truck. This time, for not even half filled.....they come at me for over $800.00! ‍ Inflation? Price gouging? Ridiculous yes! I said, NOWAY! I have 2 items that I was requesting quotes for hauling away. I looked at several options in the area and reached out to this service. Their business model is very shady. You have no clue how much their service costs - not even an estimate - before someone shows up on your doorstep. As I was clicking through the web "quote" system, it doesn't actually give a quote. It only sets up an appointment. I wasn't happy with this approach and called the hotline. The agent told me she'd be happy to quick me a "ball park" estimate and asked me what I wanted hauled off. When I told her, she proceeded to tell me what the minimum charges are and the various truckload prices are.... That isn't even close to a ballpark. When I requested the ballpark she offered, she told me that was all she could provide. I said no thanks and asked that the appointment be canceled. She then went back to the same script 3 times over before she would let me cancel the appointment. The next morning, someone sent me a text message offering a $50-100 discount to "win my business". I responded with a "no thanks". At this point, I'm not going to encourage this horrible business approach. I will be supporting another business that has upfront communication and no pressure tactics. read more

They showed up 2 hours after our scheduled two hour window, we put all of our items outside and it was going to start storming so we kept calling and they kept pushing the arrival. They also wouldn't provide a ballpark estimate over the phone and by the time they arrived and our stuff was soaking wet, they tried to charge upwards of $800. It was not a crazy amount of stuff, we were only cleaning out our garage. I would not recommend this company based on price, punctuality, and communication. We used this service to haul our old sofas, 2 oversized chairs, coffee table, 3 tires, 4 rims & a few random items... Guys that came & service were great, no doubt! They reviewed items to go & quoted my husband. We had furniture coming the next morning so didn't really have a big window to find another company, so he agreed to allow them to haul. Cost for 30 mins was NOT expected!! 30 mins $877!!!! $75 per person labor charge, on top of the truck load cost volume, sur charges for tires.... $877!!!!! Outch!! And, pretty sure they will donate, sell, write off a bunch of items for another few bucks & I do understand they pay junk yard fees, but $877!! Never again!!!! I should have written this review almost a year ago. This junk service is very expensive. I needed to have some items removed from my garage to make space. On August 30, 2023 I was charged $633.30 to haul away a piano, bricks, several sheets of new drywall, two metal entry doors, and a mattress. All of which were in excellent to very good condition. The good thing is once they did arrive the loaded up the truck quickly. Call 1-800 got junk for the first time received an estimate ranging $125 up to $625 depending on how much you fill the truck. Received a quote of $600,which I thought that was too expensive for what we were disposing. One of the crew members asked if we had a budget. I was expecting no more than $250. He called his manager and came back with a quote $400, which I felt was still too expensive. I was told this would be considered a full load (Not true). My husband and I loaded our 5x7 trailer and and put a few bags in the SUV and took the items to goodwill. We did this in less than two hours. Noah and Jephte came to our home the next day and within the hour our garage was cleared. They were both polite, knowledgeable, and very courteous. They wore their masks and maintained social distance to protect both my family and their selves. Called again at 5 and said they were running late and told us to wait till 6pm. Come 6pm, still no one arrived. We called them and only then did they inform us that they had no space left in their truck. This was terrible for us because we needed the house completely empty as we were moving across the country the next day. They also waited last minute to tell us so it was nearly impossible to find another trash collection service at that time. Luckily, we were able to find a small business that agreed to do after hours pickup for $450 for a truckload. We were told that 1-800-GOT-JUNK would have charged us $600+ for the same load. I have used this company several times. Used to be reasonable. Had branches that were cut to 6-7ft and under in several piles. I figured if 113 was the minimum it might cost 200 dollars. 3 people showed (always had 2 before so that has to cost more, right?) we were told (my neighbor and me) that it was going to cost 465 dollars. What? She can't afford it so I showed them my 3 piles which amounted to a foot, foot and a half tall once it was loaded. Initially quoted me over 200. Told him nope. They came down to 197. Told them to do it. I also asked so how many branches would it take for the minimum of 113? He wasn't sure because usually branches ampit to more than that. I had them lick up a whole truck Load of 2x4s that were in a pallet configuration. 165. I'll never use them again.
