We ate outside in the courtyard, given the nice weather. The service was outstanding, and the food was good. We started with the asparagus soup, which was great. I think given the color, it must have been white asparagus. I had the Premium Chicken, which was cooked sous vide, served with amazing portobello mushrooms and a delicious gravy. My husband had the wild boar schnitzel. I liked the flavor, but was a bit chewy in consistency. The white chocolate dessert was to die for. Don't be deceived by the dark chocolate coating. Once you dig in, you find a beautiful, mousse-like white center. We enjoyed the Czech red wine, which was a bit like a light-bodied Chianti. Make sure to get to the restaurant by about 7 or so, otherwise they seem to run out of a lot of the dishes.

In the euphoria that immediately followed a Czech beer spa experience, we strolled to Nostalgie, at…read morethe recommendation of the spa, for a later afternoon lunch. Despite our rather odd choice of mealtime (3pm-ish) the restaurant was not empty. That's a good sign already. Nostalgie appears to specifically pay tribute to early female film stars, with framed head shots of actors of the golden era dotting the walls. Listen closely, and you'll notice the music playing in the background is a series of mashups combining old jazz numbers with beats, and extremely tastefully done. It made for a really nice environment for our meal. For a starter, we shared roasted goat cheese on a bed of spinach and beets. It was divine. For our mains, my wife settled on the ribs, and I went with traditional goulash. The goulash was tasty but not my favorite of the trip. The sauce tasted of a tomato base, rather than a broth base experienced elsewhere. It was fine for what it was, but I prefer the other method. Not having a deep background in traditional Czech cooking, I can't say whether it was entirely incorrect or just a different school of thought. My wife's pork ribs were marvelous. Tender and juicy, just how ribs should be. Highly recommended. Overall, this was one of the best meals of our trip, and very reasonably priced. Friendly service and clean bathrooms add even more to an already nice experience. We would definitely come back.

I was encouraged to order quickly as they close at midnight. The restaurant has a modern/hipster feel. I sat in the front area that had a mix of regular and high tables. The smell of grilled meat was in the air. Started with the Staropramen Eleven-what else?! Just wanted to get a sampling of Czech fare so ordered the grilled spicy sausage and assorted Czech cheese. There were 3 types of cheese and all were tasty. Tartare of Olomouc, whipped Blue Cheese & marinated Camembert. I Iiked the Camembert the most. They grind and make their own sausage & you can tell as they were seasoned perfectly and grilled just right. Service was good. That said, they were ready to finish up so if you come after 11 & want food have your order ready. This was the meal I needed after a few hours of travel!
