Ripped the bag to get to it
    Carmen W.

Came across this dainty Chocolate store as I was searching for some desserts ! Atmosphere- looked pretty old and dated . Perhaps it was the lighting but the store definitely didn't have the wow factor. Very small and tight. Food - Dark chocolate , Raspberry slice of cake . It was alright . For a specialized chocolate store , I expected more . The raspberry filler part tasted odd almost like my smoothie but thicker lol. The dark chocolate was good but not mind blowing . I'd rate it a 3 Packaging - this was the part that annoyed me . They packaged my slice of cake in a paper bag -__-. It was hard to travel with it and despite being super careful, the slice got mildly squished. I found this concept VERY ODD, I wonder how they expected us to get to the slice of cake without getting our fingers dirty or ruining the beautiful cake slice . Ended up tearing the bag open to transfer it to a plate .... Services - it was disorganized . No queuing system , there were lines forming left / right/ middle . Price - around $5 and a bit with tax. Cake was pretty small but still reasonably price. Although .. I would had at least expected it to be packaged properly . Even Metro gives a plastic container and their slices are like $2.99 .. Overall I'd say give this place a try once if you are desperate but don't expect too much !

A chocolate gem! Delicious and authentic chocolatier. Then even have a Museum of Chocolate! We had: Erico & Italian hot chocolate, brownie and bought lots of holiday chocolates for gifts.

The brownie is delicious, high quality dark chocolate and a good texture, denser and richer than a cake but not totally a piece of fudge. The frozen chocolate drink was okay, but seemed like only dark chocolate and blended ice, I think milk could've made it creamier. Their chocolate cake is amazing! We ordered a 9 inch for our baby's 3-month "birthday." It produced 16 good slices, and everyone complimented it unbidden. The cake was moist and chocolatey, which you actually can't take for granted with a chocolate cake.

The infamous pistachio ice cream covered in Fleur du sel dark chocolate - taste it and go to heaven!

4.5 stars. Our waiter from La Buvette Scott recommended this place for the pistachio ice cream dipped in dark chocolate (I got the Fleur di del version) and it didn't disappoint. Intense pistachio flavor that's matched with equally intense dark chocolate. Heavenly. Consider getting a chocolate embellished sugar cone with it. We also ordered Erico (dark chocolate ice cream with 100% cocoa - decadent, reminded me of a chocolate ganache in ice cream form) and Bombay chai. Excellent. Given that it's a chocolate place, we took home some boxes of chocolate but I think that the gelato here with chocolate is actually a more superior choice.

    Carrot mango passion fruit sorbet

Super nice and helpful staff and so many sorbet flavours! Ice cream was great! We got the chocolate sorbet and the mango carrot passion fruit sorbet and everyone was happy.

Please don't go to this cafe thinking it's a museum hahaha it's partly named museum of chocolate because half of their shop has pictures and artifacts laid out. Honestly, it's more like little explanations you can read through in like 3 minutes lol I would give three stars but one more since their workers were so sweet. It's literally a tiny chocolatier that just had their 30th anniversary. They have chocolate, pastries, cakes, gelato, and many types of hot chocolate you can buy. Their small is a super tiny cup. Like one sip. Make sure to know what you are ordering. We tried their hot chocolate, and it was amazing like any other cafes we tried hot chocolate at.

Great place for anything chocolate: bars, small chocolate candies, ice cream, hot chocolate, chocolate chips by the pound. There is a little museum to walk through and read about the chocolate making process. It's in France and English. I had a slice of the classic chocolate cake. It was rich chocolate and fresh. It was a great deal for $3.50. We sat on the patio to eat it. They provided us with water also. They have chocolates from foreign vendors. You will be amazed how many flavors you can have of chocolate. They also serve hot chocolate.

I'm giving three stars because the girl behind the counter was very sweet and helpful, otherwise I'd give two stars, maybe even one. This chocolate shop seemed pretty hyped up in the brochure, but once we got there, it was kind of old and worn out looking. We originally came there to watch them make chocolate, but no one was back there making chocolate. There were some cute educational "games" that were explained the background of chocolate. Since I was there, I figured might as well try some chocolate, so I got enough chocolate to meet the credit card minimum, which was three pieces. I did have a mental meltdown when I saw that she handled the candy with bare hands, no tongs or gloves. The chocolate itself wasn't really worth bragging about, they did have unique flavors though. They sold all sorts of other things, like gelato in a cone, etc, but I wasn't feeling adventurous as it didn't look fresh.

Cute and charming little shop. There is a small chocolate museum kind of thing on the left half of the place. Got their ice cream and a few truffles. The triple (or was it 4?) chocolate scoop was excellent.

    Italian hot chocolate

"When is that redhead going to pack up her book, finish that damn Italian hot chocolate and call it a day?" I imagine that's what they were wondering. I nursed that chocolate al densa (sipping chocolate) like it was nobody's businesses while I flipped through pages of Anne Boyelyn. How romantic of me, right? I have to admit, it was a pretty dreamy experience. I had not a care in the world, the most delicious "drink" at my fingertips and the smell of chocolate swirling in the air around me. Many thanks to the Erico crew for their hospitality. They offer a wide variety of chocolate bars, pieces, desserts and hot chocolates. If you're looking to mix it up, I recommend ordering the Italian hot chocolate which is also known as chocolate al densa, it's literally so thick you'll want a spoon to eat it (think gourmet chocolate pudding). Craving an educational opportunity? Visit the attached chocolate museum for 25 cents. Yes, 25 cents. Even if not to make a purchase, crawl in here for the mouthwatering smells.

    Cookies, chocolates, & hot cocoa!

This super cute chocolate shop is a must-do if you're strolling down Rue St Jean. It's definitely walking distance if you're in town playing tourist and it's more than just another typical candy shop! If you go left when you first enter, there's a chocolate museum. While there's a bunch of fun facts about cocoa, I headed straight to the back where there's a window to see into the kitchen where the treats are made. I breezed through the museum since I was cold and hungry. On the shop side, I ordered a handful of chocolates, a cookie, and a small cup of hot-chocolate to warm up. The Guinness chocolate was delicious, and the white-chocolate matcha was surprisingly tasty! While I probably wouldn't get a cookie again, the chocolates were amazing. The hot chocolate was TINY but great as well.

Nice to know that you can also get chocolate dipped ice cream right in Quebec and that you don't have to go to Lévis for it. Ice cream was delicious and there is a small museum about chocolate.

Picture this: soft snow falling on the cobblestone streets of Petit-Champlain, fairy lights glowing, and the warm light spilling out of this beautiful little café. I ducked in both mornings of my short trip and could have happily stayed all day. The interior is perfect Québécois charm: exposed stone walls, wooden beams, cozy lighting, and that unbeatable smell of fresh baking. First morning I ordered the pistachio latte and the quiche Florentine. I would legitimately sell my firstborn for that pistachio latte: silky, perfectly balanced, with a rich, natural pistachio flavor that no syrup could ever match. One sip and I was ruined for life. The quiche was flawless: buttery, flaky crust, creamy spinach-and-cheese filling, baked to golden perfection. Absolute breakfast heaven. I braved a full-on snowglobe blizzard the next morning just to come back. This time I paired the same life-changing pistachio latte with the almond croissant. I'd hand over my other kid for daily access to these croissants (kidding... mostly). Impossibly crisp and flaky outside, cloud-soft inside, generously stuffed with fragrant almond paste, topped with toasted almonds and powdered sugar. I ate it slowly by the window while the snow piled up on Rue Notre-Dame and honestly felt like the luckiest person alive. The baristas were friendly, the vibe warm and unhurried, and everything was flawless. If you're in Quebec City, make La Maison Smith non-negotiable (and budget time to visit at least twice). Five stars isn't enough. This place is winter-morning perfection.

Location: 4/5 This location is located in the heart of Old Lévi, which is just a ferry away from Quebec City. We spent half a day here enjoying the city view across the river and having fun at the splash pad. It was a hot and sunny day, so we decided to cool ourselves off with a good old ice cream! Decor/Ambience: 4.5/5 Pretty spacious with amble amount of seating both outside and inside. It was super cute and yet not over the top! Such a family-friendly place and you can bring groups of friends with you, too! The lighting by the window was just perfect for a selfie! Food quality: 4.5/5 I love their Fall special five cream flavour, pumpkin, which I had along with 12 possible white or dark chocolate glazes. My beau chose a s'mores glaze and I chose a crunchy almond dark chocolate one. You can even add sprinkles and other toppings too, but we opted for a simpler taste. They even have poutine and fondues all dipped with chocolate if you like! Would definitely bring my future children here! I am sure they will love it. Service: 4.5/5 Service was really good. They explained their options of ice cream flavours as well as their glazes to us in both English and French. I appreciate the bilingualism! That way I can practice my French, while my beau still understands and can enjoy himself fully. Value: 5/5 Chocolats Favoris is a big chain here in Quebec! They even have an app where you can earn towards redeeming for free sweets!! Great treat for the whole family, kids, teens, adults and even seniors! With sizes ranging from baby, mini, regular to monster, you can choose how little or much you want to eat! Seriously, if only Toronto or Scarborough had this chain then I would be coming here every so often. Oh well, I will definitely come to here every chance I get when visiting Quebec City again. They have locations all across the city and province anyway. When I have children of my own, I will definitely bring them to one of their touristy locations, so that they too can enjoy the creaminess of the soft serve ice cream and the hardened white or dark chocolate glaze.
