If you love oysters, fresh food then you should not miss this place…read more Ocean Three paved the way in Hong Kong in offering fresh seafood and fine meats at a discounted price- I mean discounted in the sense that you could pick up coffin bay oysters at 14 HKD each; not cheap by some countries standards but dirt cheap by how much restaurants and hotels charge you. Its innovative in the sense that you cannot dine in, even the shop itself is rather rudimentary- set in an industrial building you will not find it by just walking around. It is literally a warehouse location with a huge fridge and you just go there to pick up your orders. Apart from oysters, they offer sea urchin (a delicacy in these parts), prawns, scallops, crabs. Meat wise they offer fine angus beef steaks and lamb shanks. They do offer more but their menu is just too long to describe here; what I could say is that their prices are almost unbeatable though there are some new competition popping up around town in trying to share this growing market. The drawbacks of this place? well its not easy to find, if you don't drive then it is a bit of a trek to come pick things up, you have to shuck oysters yourself (NOT an easy task for the uninitiated) and more importantly; you have to order at least 2 days before so you have to plan ahead if you want to buy from them. I would say this though: for the price you pay and the quality they give you- its alright to plan ahead because they never let you down.

Hong Kongers seem to have an obsession for seafood and I for one could stand testament to that-…read morewhenever we have celebratory activities we always associate it with what sort of seafood will be served. At wedding banquets it used to be which sort of shark fin (now frowned upon for obvious reasons), the kind of fish you will be serving. On other days, such as birthdays, we would make an effort to go out there buy some seafood to add to the sumptuous dinners. This market is a product very much a slideshow of local delicacy delight- whereas seafood could be quite limited elsewhere in terms of choice; here you will find every sort of grouper, lobster, oysters, prawns, shellfish of many varieties- I probably don't know enough names to name all of them. Even if you weren't a big fan of seafood this place would be a pretty good location to read up on marine biology. If you are keen on seafood then this must be some sort of heaven for you. You can either buy the seafood and take it to nearby restaurants to be prepared - there are at least 3 places nearby which would do it and the prices do vary as they are very different in setting. You can also bargain your way through the stores; don't be pressurized into buying everything you need at one location. Most people will be taking it home though as that's the cheapest way to do it and probably nicest as you can choose how you want it. Prices wise I would say its fairer than Sai Kung in general as this is a true market as opposed to seafood stores linked to restaurants.

What an experience. I truly wished I had a hotel with a kitchen because the markets in Hong Kong…read morehad so much fresh seafood. The market was filled with trinkets, souvenirs, fruits, vegetables and seafood. It was a one of kind experience and where the locals get all their groceries. They have smaller homes with small kitchens so you buy what you need for the moment not like how I shop at Costco for the month. It a way to cut back on the waste and only buy what you need. Seeing the live seafood squirm around was nothing like the grocery store. It is nice knowing your meal was not frozen but fresh. No matter which booth the service was ready and willing to sell whatever your heart desires. The streets were lined with booths and vendors as well as under the freeways had something for everyone. Knowing the language is the only way to survive these markets especially with local delights you're unfamiliar with. It's always wonderful to emerge into the local customs while traveling. I wish I had farmers markets daily up the street from me what a treat this was!

Come around noon for the best catch of the day as that's the time when most fishermen would be bring their freshly caught seafood to the market. There are a handful of stalls where you can get all kind of seafood. The selection is all a little different so spend some time to look around and decide before purchasing! You can also able to bargain down the price if you are skilled and enjoy doing that. Shrimps, Crabs, Fish, Squid and more. After your purchase, you have the option to bring them upstairs to the food court and have one of the stalls cook them for you. Please verify the cost of cooking/ingredients before committing! There is no standard set price and after you finished eating, it would be too late to complain they overcharged you! The star here is definitely the seafood! As they are so fresh all you need to just steam them and they would taste so delicious. So if you have your own kitchen, I would also suggest buying some and cook them at home.

This is probably one of the better places to get food in the immediate vicinity, and is also a very fun place to walk around. It's very manageable, while having a variety of food vendors, ranging from the ordinary HK fare to the extraordinary (I would describe one of the stalls as selling post-modern kimchi). I got a claypot rice with chicken feet and pork ribs (though there was no clay pot). There was nowhere to sit, so I went not too far outside and found a concrete stoop to sit on. It was good, cheap, and filling.

The Hong Kong tsukiji or fish market is unique and a gem to the city's culinary culture. With a marketplace as its entrance, casual seating in the following section, then more formal sit down dining as the last section which gives view of both water and city. Sourcing select seafood from Japan and some other parts of the world, the live seafood and made to order dishes are superior in quality and fresh. The price is very reasonable and I only wish that I was able to frequent this place during my stay in Hong Kong. The retail market items are more costly than some other Japanese marts but the selection is also on par, offering Japanese products, fruits, drinks, and pre-packaged sushi and sashimi. There are hot food counters serving lobster rolls, foie gras, grilled seafood, meats and veggies. The sit down area is separated into two locations, one for only donburi and the other mainly sushi and sashimi. We were told that we could purchase anything throughout the front areas and bring it inside too. The seafood selection is amazing and the atmosphere is very attractive. We ended up at the very back where the best views were and the seafood proved to be top notch. The lunch specials include a soup, salad, and tea. The a-la-carte menu was also irresistible, so we had shared a few things here and there. Not only did the fish we ordered surprise my palate but also left my stomach satisfied. To end the experience on a sweet note, we decided to order the raindrop cake before leaving the fish market. While it wasn't as jiggly or tasty as I thought it would be, the subtle sweet flavor from the sugary syrup over the raindrop-esque blob was interesting to say the least. It is very similar to agar agar or a more solid jelly. Whatever the case, that's not on my list to try again but definitely Instagram worthy. I'm still dreaming of the fish from the market and will come back again when I get the opportunity.

As u enter , You will see different stalls that looked like a grocery . There are some restaurants offering seafood as well . We went further in the back and ended up getting the best view , we were seated at the very back with the ocean background . The waitress was super helpful to answer all my questions and recommended us the ones that would fit our needs . So we ordered everything we think that's good . Everyone gets their order whatever they're comfortable with . I'm so glad there's something at least my son would eat . So everybody is happy to order they want. Then the food came . Everyone loved what they're tasting. I thought the lobster was pale and so as the shrimp , but when we started to taste everything in the seafood platter, we were blown away . It literally looked so atypical shrimp / lobster made. Usually they cook it with butter and it's shiny and red. But this one looked that it wasn't cooked properly at all. But then I realized I was in a Japanese restaurant, they prepare seafood differently. I mean it's sweet, succulent, tasted fresh, it taste like it was just blanched but prepared perfectly. When we taste one particular dish everyone would say " oh my God, this is sooo good". I cannot express enough how good the food was. This by far is the best lobster and shrimp I ever had in my life. Everything is literally awesome . Now about the restaurant . The place is so clean , the staff are attentive and recommended some . I mean I cannot really make any negative comments in this restaurant . I found out in Hong Kong they don't charge u for tax . Which is even more awesome . For a party of 9 , we paid only $219 in USD and with all those yummy food I could've paid even more if it's here in US . I definitely recommend this restaurant . I think it's busy on dinner time . But u may come in anything . More power to u . I will definitely come back when I visit Hong Kong.
