There is a row of local street-skillsmen-turned-shops behind Pedder Building. Mostly key makers / locksmiths and shoe repairers/ cobbers. The alley, which doesn't even have a name, is easily accessible, being the entrance for MTR exit D2. Prices here are likely cheaper than any other established service of a similar nature.
For 陳富記, (plastic) cobbling for a pair of shoes sets you back HK$90 with a next-day pick up. I had my shoes shined as well for HK$45 a pair. Naturally, they also have on-the-spot shoe shine service where you sit down for around 5-10 minutes while he glosses up your shoes; the price is different I believe, but I have yet to confirm. If you have patina or other more exotic shoes, I would recommend you go somewhere else for your shoe care. read more
