There are not that many shops besides Ikea and Aeon. Dining options are limited as well. Hence the 3 stars. It's right next to a "market" which is noisy and smelly, making this place almost like a haven in the boisterous heat of a summer day. Mark your route with bread crumbs though - it's not a little like a maze depending on which entrance you use, and signage is not always straightforward or available. Once you're in, there are lots of choices for eateries at rock-bottom prices, catering to the student clientele from a school nearby at the lunch hour. One place had a special: full 'steak' dinner with a soup and beverage for less than $6 US. Since it didn't look the cleanest, I didn't quite screw up enough courage to give it a go :-)

The best part is it's at the Tsing Yi MTR station. I wouldn't personally come all the way over here to shop, but if you're in the area or your live nearby, it's a great shopping mall. The eateries here are decent too. The Jade dynasty, Thai elephant and KFC on the third floor are my favorites. The bathrooms are also clean and very kid friendly. The stores varied in price, some being more affordable and some being higher end, though I don't consider it a place to find cheap items. I didn't find this mall to be anything special, but it's air-conditioned, big, clean, and might have what you're looking for. The Uniqlo is on the outside near the MTR entrance and Don Don Donki can be found up the escalator. There are a number of American stores, as well as locally owned boutiques. There was an entrepreneur market for school children on the main floor and I imagine they host events regularly thanks to the open layout.

The layout of the mall is like a big multi-leveled hexagon diamond that's connected via corridors. Along the corridors, there are many store fronts and restaurants you can visit. Many visitors or commuters who drive can park their car here since it's either free, or after spending a specific amount of money shopping, you can get discounted or parking passes free. I would say you can spending almost the half a day at this mall if you browse each and every store. Mall is very close to Nan Lian garden, which would give you some fresh air and a great place to relax after shopping.

In comes the ingenuity of Hong Kong's land developer: it sits next to the biggest regeneration area for the forseeable future; Kai Tak. This new mall isn't a purpose built one, its actually built to cater for the residents living upstairs. You will find this as soon as you walk in: there are no major brand name stores and in fact most of the basement area is taken up by the Yata supermarket. There are of course the normal chain stores though in general the whole feeling with this place could be described as neighborly. If you were looking around for a less tourist filled mall for a leisurely afternoon trek then this place may be for you- I say afternoon because its actually quite small and you should be done with it within about 2 hours. I would say that its good in the sense it caters for most basic stuff and you don't have to fight with other people just to get to the toilet. Though it may not be the first mall that comes to my mind if I was a tourist in Hong Kong. If you find yourself working in the area or living in Kowloon East then I guess this would be a place that I would do my groceries from,
