This is one of my favorite places to go to for an afternoon tea. While most cafes do tea sets only…read moreon weekdays, UCC does them on weekends as well which is great because their sets are actually pretty good value for money. They come with food and a drink, and most people get hot coffee because their coffee is AMAZING. It's UCC Japanese-style roasted coffee, so it's not the typical coffee you're used to drinking. It's much smoother and richer and I actually prefer UCC coffee to western-style coffee. The iced coffee is very refreshing, though when served this way the ice dilutes the flavor of the coffee so I prefer opting for the hot coffee. The tea set menu doesn't change often, and the first few options are always waffles - both sweet and savory, like waffles with blueberries and ice cream, matcha and red bean waffles, tuna salad with waffles etc. They gave other items too like French toast and a slice of cake, but the waffles are amazing and I choose that almost every time I'm there for tea. The waffles don't have the overly 'eggy' taste that I find in a lot of waffles at other places, and they're just the right about of sweet. The set comes with two waffles which to me is just about right for an afternoon tea set - doesn't leave me feeling bloated, but I don't feel like I've barely eaten either.

The restaurant is small and is easy to miss as the door does not indicate any English name . Be sure to look for a black door and you will not miss it for sure. The house sits approx 22-25 people ( inclusive of 4 bench seating ). It is a rare to find cafe in the Tai Wai area so be sure to arrive early if you do not want to wait . The menu has extensive selection of deserts which unfortunately I did not manage to try after my onigiri set . They serve a few variety of set lunches such as Kobe beef rice set ( was a special menu) , hamburger need rice set ( chefs recommendation), karaage rice set ... Etc I tried the onigiri set and also the hamburger beef set . It was not bad but portions are small for guys ! My salmon onigiri set came with 2 onigiri ( one salmon and the other with corn and bonito flakes. The salmon onigiri had minimal salmon which was disappointing and I wished they toasted my onigiri !! One of my high school friend took me here for lunch and we were told that the wait was going to be…read morean hour. Of course, it would be that long in a crowded mall like this during lunch hours. Luckily, he saw one of his friend's family eating there and they had an extra ticket to offer us. I was happy that we don't have to wait such a long time anymore. We waited for about 10 minutes and then we were seated. The server came quickly to offer us their menu and some drinks. When he came back, he took our order promptly and our food was out within another 5. The service here is not bad as it was a full house but they still managed to give us our food pretty quickly. The pasta was prepared al dente and the portion was well worth the price. The pasta carbonara had great flavor and just enough sauce for every noodle to be covered in. I loved how the egg on top was soft boiled and I used the egg yolk to make sure the entire dish was eggy! My friend also enjoyed her pasta and said the roe flavor really came through. One thing to note though is that each cake is quite small (especially for its price). The latte here is very good as well - very smooth and served piping hot, and isn't overly milky.
