In. Love.!!!!
Firstly, quite impressed with the great decor. This is especially unexpected because North Point is known to be the neighborhood with old asian grannies :P
Everybody seems to know everyone there, the "regulars" seem to have a nice friendly vibe to them, probably because they're all vegetarians and buddhists, but that's besides the point.
Plus for this place is that there is no time limit on the buffet, so you don't feel pressured to stuff your face/ shove the food down your throat - this made it a much more enjoyable experience, to be able to take your time, chat, and enjoy the food.
I was also very impressed with the variety of food. I wouldn't mind turning vegetarian if there were more veggie places like this! I was there for maybe 2 hours, and from the moment I sat down to my second round of food, there has already been changes to the available dishes. It was practically a new buffet by the time I was ready for seconds. This kept the experience fresh and interesting, and I'm sure it's a great way to keep people coming back as you don't know what you'll be getting.
Rice, noodles, soups, broths, congee, cakes, desserts... you name it, they've probably got it. The soup/ broth was just like how my mum makes it!! Also the asian dessert cakes were REALLY good.
They also have a mini store at the front/ counter. You can get a large carton of coconut water for $14.... SCORE!
I will definitely be back. Great value, great food, great vibes. I'd be eating here everyday if it was my own neighborhood!! read more
