Although it took us asking some questions of the nice staff person, we figured out the OVO brand in Hong Kong. So under the OVO umbrella, there is 1) OVO Home (modern, high end, custom made, oriental based furniture - located at 16 Queen's Road) 2) OVO Garden (floral design - located at 1 Wanchai Road) 3) OVO Cafe (vegetarian cuisine and coffee cafe - located at 1 Wanchai Road and also at 173 Des Voeux Road Central) 4) OVO W Hotels (OVO has a partnership with and operates the gift shop at the W Hotel in Hong Kong) 5) OVO Studio (some furniture, lighting, art, jewelry, pillows, gift ideas, etc. - located at 1 Wanchai Road OVO Studio carries a variety of simple chic and cutting edge contemporary collections designed for home or gifts. We thought this store was amazing, current, up to date and was up our alley on all things home decor, contemporary and cool. From hand made throw pillows of the animals of the zodiac to unique jewelry to funky cake plates and urban lighting and fun furniture....they have two floors of all sorts of fun things for the home. They also had an exhibition of the local artist Grand So, which we thought was a cool use of the space to add to their product line. The building where OVO is located was once a local market, so we enjoyed showing patronage to any company that embraced urban renewal and reuse of an old building.

The store is beautiful and offers a wide array of different items, from clothing to arts and crafts and jewelry. Everything is made in Hong Kong and we loved the idea of buying something that is not mass-produced. I got some hair tube wraps, a t-shirt and some jewelry: prices are on the expensive end but I got very quality, unique items that I did not see anywhere else during my stay so all in all, it was a good trade.

In short, don't pay the premium for RUBBISH quality and service. For details, see below and the attached complaint to consumer council. FIRST, they made various representations about the "Italian quality" and flawlessness of wood, including making demonstrations such as burning it and scratching it with a coin etc. When it arrived the wood was dented, scratched and peeled off in various areas (as pictured). WORST OF ALL is when I emailed and phoned Centro's Customer Service Ms Yip about these defects with photos, she promised to have the defective wooden boards changed and DISHONESTLY ALLEGED that Centro's workers would come up to take measurements for replacements. Instead when these workers came, they tried to use white paint to TIPEX the defects (as pictured). I told these workers I wanted replacements to be done, to which they promised they would do so (on record again). I also immediately emailed Centro again to put it on record that painting over dents and cracks are unacceptable. Yet they now untruthfully and SHAMELESSLY claim that they have already 'fixed' the defects by having those workers come up. Consumer complaint already filed against them and more to come.

It's been a few years since we had our bedroom set custom made. It has been assembled by Centro,…read morebut incomplete. The assembly was satisfactory, drawers already crooked. When asked to put the round plastic screw covers on all of them as that's part of assembly, we were denied and to do it ourselves. We spent a lot of money here and just the disappointment grows by the day as we find how quickly the wear and tear of their products are. It is flimsy, unprofessional, poor material and astonishingly over priced! They'll tell you the table is scratch resistant, but to find out not its not chip resistant at the corners. Legs of the chair which we bought as a set are scratched up very quickly within a few weeks of use. Complained but was told that's not chip resistant. No paint or pen to help with the scratch. Just "I'm sorry." At least Bo Concept's aftercare is superb - they'll take care of you with utmost respect. Centro just takes your money and leaves you with nothing at the end. Go to Bo Concept, Tao Bao, Sham Shui Po - you'll save lots of money and get a much better product for the price.

There was so much here that I loved, but if I had to narrow it down I was a fan of their lamps, mugs, and leather stuffed animals. I would certainly buy a ton of shit here, but unfortunately I have no space for such luxuries! :( Definitely a great spot to visit if you're looking for contemporary design, quirky decor, or a nice gift for someone.

It is also less crowded than the branches on Hong Kong Island, so that's a plus. I consider it as in alternative to IKEA and Pricerite, especially when I want more quirkier home goods. Homeless has been going at it since 2003 when they had their first store. Two years later, they established their foothold in Hong Kong Island by opening a flagship store in Central. The most significant thing that I found out about furniture stores is the difference of how they make you feel at home. Homeless provides this atmosphere the most, with dim lighting and and a rustic feel. IKEA has it but mostly it feels like you are in a warehouse, while Pricerite is neat and clean that feels prefabricated. Aside from the furniture, my favorite thing about Homeless is the numerous choices of accessories. I have found pen stands, magnets, clothes hangers, and other cool bric-a-brac. The huge catalog that Homeless sells consists of lighting fixtures, various clocks, chairs and tables, art sculptures and kitchenware. They also carry niche furniture brands from Europe and Asia as well as other hard-to-find and obscure brands. I will be moving house late next year and plan to redecorate our flat with lots more of Homeless goodies this time around. Orders are also available through their official website but I recommend going to the various branches in town (especially the flagship stores) to get a feel of the product and how it may fit into your home.

What I like, is that provide across a number of household needs; home-wares like Japan Home Centre, stationery like the mom and pop shops, hardware like the guys on Wellington Street. It seems that if you need anything, you can get it here. It is moderately cramped in the store, I suppose the stock has to go somewhere, so if you have shopping bags or a ruck sack, be careful! There are two floors, with mainly stationery, kitchen-ware, and hard ware downstairs, and bigger home-wares upstairs, like ironing boards and plastic boxes. Some of the store highlights include; photo albums, plastic boxes, paint pens, plastic spiral key chains, lots of carabiners, toys, and decorations, and a few items that I would not have expected, including; gas torches and soldering kit for plumbing, and thick transparent plastic sheeting, like stuff they drop down the sides of the junk boats to stop the splashes coming in. The staff are very friendly, if not a bit difficult to spot as they don't wear any uniform, and will help you to get out stock, or cut rolls of linoleum. The prices are very very reasonable, basically cheap as chips, so fill your boots! The store is also very close to Tin Hau station, so only a short walk if you are carrying a plastic box full of stuff!
