Proven cold for HK people but perfect for me . This WanChai tower is a government building . One of the main office is to fill in the application for a new Hong Kong ID . Beside local HK citizens, there were Indians , Caucasian, Asians from other parts of the world . It is recommended to make an appointment to avoid long wait . All the staffs were well trained , efficient , good manner and patient. It could be good example for other government staffs in other cities . They are so efficient and polite even it was very busy . I am so impressed and this was a totally wonderful experience.

However, for locals, it is very…read moreimportant to keep up with all the upcoming events in the city, and to be honest, there are so many things you would not know it is in fact a tourist attraction unless you come here. There are a few visitor centres around Hong Kong but today I went to the one at the Peak. Located at The Peak Piazza next to The Peak Galleria, you will see a signage with 'Hong Kong Tourism Board' written on it. Walk inside you can see how informative this place is. I understand lots of people before they travel will buy a guide book and stuff to plan their trip, however, they have plenty of free maps, booklets and brochures for you to take from there. On top of that, the staff there are very talkative and very nice to chat with. They know what tourists want in this place and the best of all, they offer the most affordable choices for you and the suggestions are tailor made. All staff are equipped with Ipad that enables them to show you the sights on it so you know what to expect. Hong Kong as an international city, I would say that our government did spend a lot on the tourism here and you can see how much effort it has put in it with the staff training and the facilities. My advice here is really to spend some time talking to the ambassadors here instead of relying on your guidebook. You will definitely gain more doing so.

While the bus is cheaper and good for people who are afraid of heights, it takes much longer, about 50 to 60 minutes. The mountain roads are also very winding, which can make some people feel dizzy. My husband and I rode the Crystal Cabin to see the Big Buddha on our last trip. Since it was our daughters' first time in Hong Kong, we really wanted them to try it, too. They do have regular cabins without clear floors, but none of us are scared of heights, so we happily chose the glass-bottom one. We bought our tickets early on Klook. It was much cheaper than buying them at the gate. We also chose to visit on a weekday, which was a great choice because it was not crowded at all. I still remember our last visit ten years ago was super packed, and people had to wait in huge lines just to get on. The cable car ride takes about 25 minutes each way. We only bought a one-way ticket this time because we wanted to visit Tai O Fishing Village afterward. It was a fun, smooth, and beautiful 25-minute ride. We loved looking down at the green hills, seeing waterfalls, and watching the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery come into view. Surprisingly, it was not hot at all, and it felt pretty cool up there on the mountain. It was truly amazing!

No where will you get a full view of the Hong Kong airport (unless you decide to climb up a mountain). This is my second time visiting and still very memorable and worthwhile. We got there around 10am on a Saturday and purchased tickets at the gate and didn't have a wait. Weekend tickets are more expensive, but we didn't have a choice with our schedule. I opted for the crystal glass cabin which I highly recommend for that full 360 degrees experience. The cabin has a clear glass bottom. The line for the crystal glass cabin is significantly shorter than the standard one too so avoiding the wait alone is worth it. Each one way ride is actually longer than I thought it would be so well worth the price. There's of course the giant Buddha to see at the top. There's also a few hiking trails. There are a lot of restaurant options at the top, but I suggest having lunch at their vegetarian cafe by the monastery- it's unique and delicious .

So it was quite surprising when friends suggested we visit the Hong Kong Monetary Authority...wait why? Because we can and because we can catch an amazing view of Hong Kong and Kowloon. So..yes, you can see a spectacular view of Hong Kong and Kowloon from its location in IFC #2. It is incredibly high-up and it is a quick elevator ride once you register with a photo id at the lobby level reception. Yes, you will be looking down on the glimmering buildings of central and have a panorama of the waterfront across the harbor. Did I mention I was a nerd? Well, for those that want to learn...you can get a great insight about the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and how it carries out its mission. They feature a great historical look in how money and banking developed in Hong Kong. Another shows how they use monetary policy to manage its currency and an area showing what is going on currently. It's really quite different and interesting for any business school nerd. If anything, it has an amazing view of Hong Kong.

Very educational for finance nerds and yet very cool to see HK from a tall building in a nice setting. We came to escape the gloating amount of tourists in HK during the Chinese New Year and came here to see views. Sadly it was a cloudy day so there was nothing to see, but good that we didn't waste time and money to trek over to the Victoria Harbour which we were supposed to do until we saw the crazy long lines due to massive amounts of tourist buses from China! Overall a short side trip worth stopping over if you happen to be in the IFC anyway. IFC#2 is the second tallest building in HK. The ICC in Kowloon MTR station houses the tallest building in HK and it is not to miss. Take a drink at the Ozone bar in the Ritz (118th) or take it easy at the Ritz lounge on 108th floor, or go have a drink/tea on 100th floor at sky100.

Therefore, it's a good idea to drop by the Tourists Info in TST first before your adventures. - TST is the HOME of many modern and traditional shopping malls, heritage museums, culture centers, and various attractions such as the harbor promenade, Avenue of Stars, 1881 Heritage Complex, the Ferry to the Hong Kong island, the famous, gigantic Kowloon Park, and the famous Harbor City Mall. The Star Ferry Pier is also the bus terminal, where one can board buses to visit various major districts in Kowloon (see pic). Of course, the Ferry ride across the beautiful Victoria Harbour should be one of the highlights of visiting HK. She seems to just love what she is doing. She told me her mother taught her to help people and that is what she wants to do. Although this was my fourth visit to Hong Kong (I think Hong Kong is one of the greatest cities in the world) I still had several questions because things have changed drastically since I was there last in 1999. Windy gave me many tips on where to go, what to do and the best way to get there. I did everything she said and my day turned out to be absolutely fabulous. If ever there was an ultimate testing ground for driving skills- this would be the place. I, along…read morewith other motorists and public transport users, squeeze ourselves from a 10 lane toll plaza into a 2 lane tunnel. You can imagine how much squeezing there is involved- its basically organized chaos but accidents are actually few and far between given the volume of traffic. This is the lifeline of Hong Kong- in the past there was only one tunnel so there was no other choice. If you choked this place then you can effectively choke Hong Kong. Period. Nowadays, even though there are 3 tunnels with numerous other ferries and MTR lines, this is still an important passageway given the lower toll fees charged here and this could be seen through the stark contrast in traffic flow between this tunnel and the other two; notably the Western Harbour Tunnel. For drivers this is a necessary evil- for public transport users this is just a necessity. This is the main point of transfer for passengers taking cross harbor buses and transferring to other modes of transport and at rush hours the queues are a fine example of how organized we could be in Hong Kong. Given any other places i believe fights would have long erupted and I think we deserve a pat on the back for this. If we ever needed a photo that told you how busy Hong Kong is- look no further than a snapshot of this place at rush hour.

Living in Sha Tin, the cross harbour bus stops are somewhat of a gateway to HK island for me. I…read moredon't like taking the MTR all the way there because of the million interchanges, and this route is just much more comfortable (although more expensive too). Once you get out of the Hung Hom Station, the bus stops are just a minute away. There are actually two sets of bus stops - one closer to the station for destinations including Causeway Bay and eastern HK like North Point and Shau Kei Wan, and the other set is a little further down - you'll want to head here if you're going to Happy Valley and the south side, to name a few. The one thing I like about these bus stops is convenience. It's extremely close to the Hung Hom station - they're practically next to each other. There are buses to pretty much every corner of HK island here. The bad thing though is that in the summer, waiting for a bus can be a seriously sweltering ordeal, especially if you're waiting for a bus that doesn't come that often. And it doesn't help that everyone around you is working up a sweat just waiting too. There are more bus stops at the area closer to the station so naturally it's more crowded, and at peak hour it might get confusing where the lines for the bus you want to take even start. Getting to Causeway Bay is really convenient here - lots of buses - 102, 106, 112, 116 and 108 all go there. 112 and 116 are more 'central' as they stop outside Sogo. 108 stops near Lee Theatre, and 102 and 106 stop near Windsor House so it may be a bit of a trek depending on where in CWB you intend to go.

I've crossed this bridge a ton of times in the last four days and I'm amazed by it. Commenced in…read more2004, it has only been opened to traffic since 2009, having been completed a few months before its opening. Not surprisingly, it was awarded a prize in 2010, called the Supreme Award. The design was picked by the Highways Department of Hong Kong through a competition but it was further developed by Arup, a British company. Its architecture is unique in Hong Kong and if it looks awesome from afar, it's even greater when you're driving on it, as you realize just how huge it is. There are three lanes in each direction and it's about 1,6 Km. long (second longest cable-suspended bridge in the world!). There are two main towers made of concrete and composite through which the cables run and this is the distinctive feature of the bridge. As with every other construction in Hong Kong, during the design, a lot of though was put into the winds impact on it and this issue took a lot of time in the planning of the bridge. It's become a landmark in Hong Kong, not only for its features but also because of its functionality, as it connects West Kowloon and Hong Kong International Airport. For me that was a great discovery, because I could not only arrive to the airport in a shorter time than I had planned, but also because it's great to drive along such a great piece of engineering.
