Plane spotting only when runway 25 in used. Depending on the season and wind direction, aircraft can either use runway 07 or 25. If 07 in used, you can forget about taking photos, for 25, most of the traffic would land on runway 25R, just follow the crowd, if you see them moving to the direction of runway 25L, it means something is coming in on that runway and usually the cargo planes land on that runway. For non aviation enthusiasts, do drop by and discover more about aviation, the history of Kai Tak Airport and how the airline operation works, I find it to be very useful and informative. The Hong Kong aviation authorities are very encouraging towards the enthusiasts and I hope more airports can follow this example. When we arrived we were struck by the amazing feeling that Mui Wo had actually frozen in time, it looked like it was stuck in some place a decade ago! We instantly fell in love with it from then and there. It's charm is not only associated with its back-in-time feel. It has a range of fantastic seafood restaurants along the water front and towards the beach, a handful of extremely tasty western restaurants and quirky, unique stores by the pier. Don't ask me what's behind the beach towards the mountains - mosquitos, spiders, and snakes? As well as a couple of hiking trails and waterfalls... probably...maybe? Now that I live here, by the pier, I eat out at least once a day (great for the taste buds, not so great for the wallet), feel less stressed, and do not miss the city life one bit. Ok, there are times when I miss a ferry by a minute and stomp around like an angry toddler cursing the infrequency of the timetable, or other times when I need to plan my entire day if I'm going to do more than one activity on 'the other side' (Hong Kong Island). But those occasions are few and far between. I'm not the only one who loves this little place. On weekends all the hikers, beach goers, and tourists stream off of ferries and buses to have a chilled out BBQ, visit one of the beaches down at Cheung Sha, or visit Tai O fishing village. Don't forget Lantau is the biggest of all of Hong Kong's islands and Mui Wo is a perfect place to start the Lantau adventure!

I was warned that this place is small, so I know not to expect the two storey high gigantic backdrops I've seen before. The museum is actually not as tiny as I expected, but the backdrops are really small. They should find a building with taller space, and expand the drawings a few feet each way. Right now you have to be very careful not to include the outside area and the spot lights in your photos. Also, the low ceiling means that the light makes the seams between floor and walls more obvious. Another disappointment I have is that there are only a few scenes that are Hong Kong related. Otherwise it's over 90% related to One Piece. For people who are not anime fans, this just isn't very interesting. They seem to change their artworks regularly, many of the photos I saw in the reviews are no longer around. Nonetheless, we still have fun, and there is a nice guy who goes around showing us how to pose (he also snap pictures which hopefully you'll buy from him but there isn't much pressure.) Some scenes posted a sample pics to give you an idea how to post but unfortunately a lot of them don't have one and left us rather clueless as to where we are supposed to stand. The 4 stars here is a bit generous but I do want this place to succeed and improve and see similar businesses opening up. You do need to have friends to go with you. And better some friend who's a perfectionist, instead of just pressing the shutter, to advise you where to stand, how to pose, and don't mind stepping around a bit to get at the perfect angle for the best effect. Useful tips: - they have lockers available but charge for it. - wear jeans/shorts but not dresses and skirts which are less gravity defying. - if you go on your birthday with a friend, it's $149 for two instead of $128 each.

Ahh so fun!!! Came here with my dad because he was the best at taking pics (girl gotta get that…read moreinsta pic right??) and surprisingly, we both had a great time!! They changed some of their pictures when I went (for example there wasn't a water wing) but it was still a great experience. They have different sections such as an area for One Piece and another one for HK lifestyle. There's an area where the place gets a bit crowded but I didn't care much for those backdrops so I just skipped ahead. We made two rounds around the place before leaving and it wasn't overwhelmingly long :) Came on a Saturday afternoon too! But...a huge crowd came in right after we left so thank god we left!

We absolutely love Tai O! It had been so long that I couldn't even remember the last time I…read morevisited, so combining it with a morning trip to the Big Buddha was the perfect choice. We picked the absolute right day to go! To get there, we took Bus #21 from the terminal right outside Ngong Ping Village. After just missing the 12:20 p.m. bus, we decided to have lunch at Ngong Ping Village and caught the next one at 1:20 p.m. (Note: the bus only departs every 45 to 60 minutes on weekdays). The scenic ride down the mountain took only about 15 to 17 minutes to reach the Tai O coastal terminal. Be prepared for a temperature change! It was quite hot in Tai O compared to the Big Buddha, which was nice and cool in the morning. This is likely because the village sits at sea level where the heat gets trapped by the surrounding mountains. Once we arrived, we started with the Pink Dolphin watching boat tour to explore the village from the water, and then spent the rest of the afternoon walking around. Tai O is truly a paradise for street snacks and local seafood. We tried the delicious giant curry fish balls, fish siu mai, and mixed-flavor egg waffles. They are absolute must-tries! Highly recommend adding this to your Lantau Island itinerary.

Otherwise i think one can take the bus from On Ping Cable car or Tung Chung. It's not an easy ride though so maybe take a ferry ride from Central Ferry Pier instead if you get carsick easily. There are many very local and down to earth restaurants and small stores that sells some local favorites. Take your time to walk through all the narrow alleys and you will find lots of hidden gems! You can also take a boat ride to see the famous boat houses in Tai O. If you come during summer time I'd recommend bringing hats, adequate water or even umbrella because it can get really hot and sunny. We came yesterday and we almost got heatstroke. And come during weekdays to avoid the crowds! And a big plus is there are so many cats just casually resting in front of the stores for you to pat or take pictures of them!
