This is no different- the no.4 car park at Chep Lap Kok International Airport is, as its name suggests, a car park. So why am I writing about it? That's because this is the carpark that less people know about. Everybody usually heads to the no.1 and 2 open air ones because that's the first one you come across when you leave the highway. Its only for short term parking though and in most cases it is filled with people doing quick pick ups and on busy days its chaotic to say the least. This multistoried one is different in both sense- its covered (great for Hong Kong's rainy season), it has a lot more spaces and this is the one you have to go to if you are parking long term. I have had to do a lot of pick ups this summer because of travelling family members and the advantage of using this carpark is that on the (2) level there is a pick up point that leads you directly (via a short walk through an air conditioned passage) into the arrival hall. That spares you having to wait for the lifts which you do at no.1 & 2. Its also a much shorter walk if you have to pick someone up from arrival hall A- those who fly from CLK will know what I mean. Just remember that if you have to park long term you may have to approach the parking attendants first.

Made famous by Instagram, this popular photo spot is busy throughout the day where people come and go to take photos. The place is somewhat hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for as it is located on top of a car park (you do need to take some stairs to the top). Although the place is a popular photo spot among Instagrammers, the place is used by locals to play basketball and other recreational outdoor activities. Best not to disturb others as it is a public space for all. I stopped by in the morning and was able to take a few shots for my IG. During my time there it was not too busy but there was also a couple doing their own engagement photo shoot there using their own tripod. I didn't take too long taking photos and left before I saw more people come to the car park. Overall, can get busy at times but it's such a cool photo spot for some great photos!

Back in the day and for a short time I was the proud owner of two cars- or I should say I bought one before I could sell the old one. Though I was on verge of selling the old one, that still meant that I had to live with two cars and one parking space for about a week. This meant I had to find somewhere to park quick. The Tsing Yi Sportsground proved to be a savior. The parking rates here are relatively cheap- 12 HKD./ hr normally and overnight parking is 60 HKD which I find to be very fair. What you get is a huge open air carpark that is well lit, well patrolled and the only drawback would be the fact that it is open ground. You can't have it all as they say. You will find that a lot of people actually park here instead when they go to maritime Square as that place is constantly jammed up and the queues back up for a mile and parking here makes no difference at all. It takes no time to get to the mall. As with all public sports ground, you would not be advised to park here for prolonged periods of time as the charges are incremental and eventually you may be better off just parking in the mall or station carpark anyways. However, if they ever did a monthly deal I'm sure the spaces will be taken up in no time. Of course, we keep forgetting that this carpark is actually here to cater for the sports ground users and it so happens that many people live near it. Best value? Yes Long Term Parking? No. Anything else? Ask the attendant.

Public transportation is expensive though. It is around 6 dollars from Sha Tin MTR to HKSTP by minibus. You do that two times a day and it adds up. People here are very very very shy. They do not disclose of what they are working on to you. I came from Silicon Valley and this is not the same culture we are used to. Everyone here is doing something great and should share to the world what they're doing. The staff at HKSTP are really trying to make things work for us. However, they have a misconception about the entrepreneurs. They try to do all these 'fun' events like X-mas parties, but turns out no one goes. Actually no one gives a hell because all we do is just work and go home. Decor is nice. Very techy. Even has a Tesla charging station in the carpark.

With numerous new malls springing up around in Tsuen Wan parking has become an increasingly frustrating matter as parking lots at the mall never tend to be enough to cater for shoppers who come to visit. Lo Tak Circuit comes from the early days of town planning when public parking spaces were still a big part of city planning, hence you will find this odd opening in the middle of town for a parking lot. Most of the spaces are for private cars and much of the meters are 2-hour meters which is much better if you intend to do a bit of shopping. There are some 30 minutes meters on one side too which makes for better turnaround times as people never seem to stay long on those. Beware- don't park at the other end of the carpark where all the trucks are- because they are limited for trucks only and they will block you in if you decide to take your chances. As with anywhere in Hong Kong, it will take patience and some aggressive maneuvers to get the space you want but with such a large number of spaces it shouldn't be too difficult. In the morning most of the spaces are taken up by taxis and contrary to public perception the place gets busier towards midnight when people leave their cars overnight. So get there well early and expect to wait. This is Hong Kong so I guess you know already.

Parking in Kwun Tong had always been in easy and cheap in the past, but with the introduction of…read morenew office blocks this has become an ever more expensive affair. Day parking has long past the 100 dollar mark and its rare to find anywhere that will let you park from 8-6 for anything less; and even if they did chances are the parking lot will be small and dingy enough to turn you away. Wilsons Parking at MC6 bucks this trend as being one of the very few new buildings in this area that provides day parking for $95 (as of July 2014). The carpark is clean and well-kept with more space than you could wave a stick at- so you could park here even if you were ham fisted when it comes to parking. The only drawback is that on the second level you will have to park on split level "ramps" though they never actually park two cars one on top of another. Even if you do find a space without a ramp, chances are they have managed to cone off the space and make you park 4 cars into 3 spaces. Then again, if you do drive in Hong Kong then this should not come as much of a surprise nor much of a challenge. You should also be warned that you will need to drive into a lift to get upstairs though the lift itself is bigger than most apartments in Hong Kong so again it shouldn't be much of issue. MC6 is also close to a number of other new buildings in the area hence you may well consider to park here even if you weren't coming to MC6 itself.
