It is all soccer...or rather you may call it football! Black and white checkered ball being kicked around on a giant field...that is the sport! Small store, but selling shoes and jerseys mostly. They also had some accessories like shin guards, water bottles, etc. Jerseys are boys and girls and varied from teams around the world. They have an embroidery machine on sight in the showroom to customize shoes with initials, monograms, etc. That was kind of cool Seemed like good high quality gear, but the quantity of selection just seemed a little sparse.

This is my favorite park and I am biased because I live by it and grew up with it. It is not a…read moregreenery based type of park although it has a lot of walkways with trees and stuff surrounding. This park has basketball courts, public exercising equipment, fountains, large spaces where people can gather to do morning exercises, and a big lot where it hosts a lot of shows. Every so often there is something happenin including flower shows, food stalls during CNY, displays etc. This time it has panda displays with the 75th year of CCP.

However, this park is basically the park where you will find one of those ubiquitous objects that are scattered all across the former British Empire, and that is the statue of Queen Victoria. Once again, I'm not entirely sure how long this statue will remain since I suspect that there will be a time when places will want to move on from their past.

Are you surprised that I actually do sports? Well you should be if I do. Sorry I don't. (In fact,…read morethe last time I had my hands on a basketball or my feet on a football was when I was in Physical Education lesson in high school. I swear.) Anyways, I review on this mainly because Southorn Playground is such an iconic place in Hong Kong and no one does not know about this place, whether you do sports or not. Southorn Playground is a recreational and sports facility at the heart of Wan Chai that consists of basketball courts, kids' playground and a football field. No matter when it is, you are bound to see loads of sweaty shirtless men doing all kind of sports, (or maybe some elderly just playing chess... or lying on the bench chilling...) I am actually pretty surprised how much heat they can take... anyways, for those people who live in Wan Chai, it is a perfect place to just chat with locals and spend a lazy afternoon there. During lunch hour, when everywhere is super packed, some choose to order take-out and eat it here as well mainly because it is spacious. However sometimes if you are there long enough, you will find the interaction of people here rather amusing. For example, some drunkies will yell at whoever is playing at the court saying how badly they are playing; some girls crying over their boyfriends, businessmen constantly on their phones and stuff... Just be observant and you will find an ordinary place like this can be quite unordinary.

As it located on the Hong Kong Island instead of the dark side, it is very convenient for us to go from office for this game in the afternoon. We have parked the cars at L' Hotel and walked across to the industrial building where the indoor soccer field is located. The game is easy and fun with a lot of bombarding, falling, rolling and struggling. The aim is to goal. With a lesser mass I'm on the disadvantage side. Based on the theory of elastic collision I'm always the one got bounced off, no matter I bumped offensively or being collided.... (Refer to pic for evidence) Hahaha
