It doesn't offer any ready-to-eat sushi. You order your sushi through a QR code. The sushi is fresh and tasty. However, one star being deducted is the water fountain where we get hot water to make green tea, which is rusty. The service is attentive.

At first glance, the menu is quite limited compared to the other Genkis in the world (thus the minus a star), but what they do serve is quality. The fish is so fresh and the cuts are larger. The menu is different and so is the pricing, but this Genki was a nice and refreshing break from all of the Dim Sum and Chinese cuisine here, lol! As the sushi usually comes out on the different colored individual plates, at this location when you order it, it comes out on a large platter... it looks nicer, but is a bit harder to share? We ordered a bunch of sushi and Fried chicken. The sushi was good, but I'd have to say the fried chicken was especially great... probably the best I'd ever have and I'm not kidding! It was light and juicy, cooked to perfection without any dark or chewy pieces (from being over cooked). I could've eaten chicken in lieu of the sushi and would've been super happy! All in all, everything was good. If you're in HK and need a break from Dim Sum, eat here!

So happy I stumbled upon this place while walking the mall looking for some food…read more I got into HK late last night and couldn't decide what I wanted to eat. Sushi sounded good so I decided to try my luck. Ordered the 10-piece sushi set and assorted tempura - everything was fresh, great tasting and well portioned. I was really pleased with all my nigiri and the tempura set was very good as well - shrimp, fish, veggies. Not too greasy and delicious! Restaurant was lovely but there was a very drunk couple dining nearby that was super loud and distracting. Otherwise restaurant was full but never too crowded. I usually stay at the JW Marriott while I'm in HK so I'll definitely be back.

We ordered and shared the Bento Dinner Set called Shiro Seafood Bento, and also added a bowl of Wagyu & Veggie Udon. The warabi mochi with red bean paste dessert from the set was definitely the cherry on top :) Staff were friendly and courteous, but could be more attentive because at times, it was hard to flag any servers down, when they are always serving customers on the OTHER side of the restaurant. Overall, still a very delicious meal.

If there is a specific sushi you want you can order through a server. I did find the ones you order through the server are much better as they normally put the generic sushi on the belt and not the unique sushi. I love the self serve green tea you get at your station. The booths are not conveyer belt but that is just a few that is located on one side of the restaurant. Coming during dinner time on a weekend will result in an hour + wait. If you go after 8 then it's less crowded and faster wait. If only they have some system to send you a text when your table is ready that would be nice ... for now you just have to drop by and check to see what number they are on or just stand around and wait. They take credit card here! They also have small bowls of udon though at a price of 30hkd+. Good for those who don't eat raw fish as a lot of the times involve raw fish. Not the best sushi but not the worst. I think it's quite nice for being in a very convenient location and there are multiple of this chain in HK.

Overall, the food was average, but the sushi prices very quite a bit, so gotta be careful which plate you select! Also maybe because it was lunchtime, but they only had a quarter of the menu available on the conveyer. I also got the chicken teriyaki rice, which was really small and disappointing, with a few pieces of chicken and some lettuce. But this is a sushi restaurant, so I guess that's what you gotta go for. An extra star for the cute decorations, with bears on skateboards moving along with the sushi, and bear shaped tissue holders, the cuteness was a plus++
