Oh and they make the gift practically usable too. For the old school letterboxes, they changed them to a bag; for dim sum, they changed them to sponge; for the traditional bamboo theatres, they changed them to photo frames... so on. Some of the design may carry more meanings than others. The pet bags are designed as public transportation (taxicab, bus, train), as pets are often unwelcome guests on board. Or the deck of Cantonese words playing cards, where you can actually learn some useful phrases you cannot otherwise learn from a "formal" Canto lesson. I still have some mixed feelings about the shop. It brings you good laugh, but never able to actually buy something that's suitable as gift. Once I asked if they had something as simple as postcards (as in, the old, local, "hongkie" moments instead of the overused harbor view), and I got a very plain no for answer. Some of the designs are really good, but only for a certain age group. More like inside jokes for the '70s and '80s, but they lose the value once you HAVE to explain the reference. That's another reason I have been hesitate to buy anything just yet. Nevertheless, it has one of the best locations in PMQ and no doubt people will find it very interesting and do a lot of window shopping. One day I'll find some new products that I may actually like and buy.

When we were visiting Hong Kong we stumbled upon the store with my girlfriend when we were…read moreexploring Sham Shui Po. The store is great, lots of selection of model kits and figures. But did have a bad experience. After I bought a TOMICA TOMY 的士, I explored the store a bit more, I noticed you guys have the TINY 的士, I asked if I can exchange for it and pay the difference. But the staff said I cannot because of store policy, but I didn't even leave the store yet and I just bought it like 5 mins ago. I don't understand why I can't simply do an exchange. I understand if I returned the next day, but I just bought it few mintues ago and I was still in the store. I hope you guys would change your policy.

At APM, LOG-ON is right next to Muji which is next to H&M. And this floor is like my third home. My…read moresecond home being YATA grocery store downstairs. If we don't count work as my second home. LOG-ON at every location is different because it depends on size. At the larger malls like Festival Walk, LOG-ON is freaking amazing. Anyways the APM one isn't so shabby, because I've visited it plenty. 1) First, you'll see the "Stuff of the month" counter with a lady presenting whatever stuff that's new and will disappear next month. For example, aroma therapy stuff. 2) Behind this lady is the girl's section: hair, makeup, masks 3) to your left are shelves of small box toys. From puzzles to collectables. If you look closely, it's actually JUST puzzles and collectables. Some plush. From there, you'll face 4) backpacks 5) umbrella's 6) fitness stuff like yoga mats, more aroma therapy, stretching bands 7) small kitchen gadgets, like bento panda molds and ice-cube molds Then, continuing this path (to the left and back of the store) 8) the men's section!!! Here it is, you're welcome! It's laughably small, I wouldn't shop here. 9) travel-size items 10) more backpacks 11) MOLESKINE 12) pens 13) cards!!!! and other papery. Very pretty! The makeup isn't overpriced. It's the same price as Sasa. Really. There is a Line Moleskine notebook here!! Other LOG-ON stores will have THE SAME STUFF, just MORE of them but not always more brands.

Believe it or not, Causeway Bay, despite being a shopping area, probably got the most book store brands together, among all districts in HK. Big names like Commercial Press, PageOne, and the latest addition to the team, Eslite. Smaller stores like Luck Win seems to have its edge to stay relevant. Indeed, it is almost ALWAYS cheaper to buy books at Luck Win. And since the space is very limited, they are really good at getting the right selection of books to sell. In the age of Kindle and tablets, I still find myself very tempted to buy books whenever I'm here. So here it is. Mind you all these smaller book stores can be highly specific on the topics of books they have. Luck Win is more a generic one, but still, you will probably find more Chinese books here (and Traditional Chinese-translated version of English books). But that's probably why they have their perks - especially when Chinese e-books are not as popular (not available on Amazon) as English's.
