Lovely neighborhood with lots of good shopping. Everyone that I encountered was kind. The food hall was a nice stop.

(Sadly, no "Sweden badge" when I checked in at the airport.) With four days to explore, I took advantage of it starting with a walking tour the first evening of my arrival that brought me through Gamla Stan. The next day, a food tour through Norrmalm and Ostermalm. I walked Sodermalm and Djurgârden. I rode the metro a dozen times to as far away as Solna - the modern metro system is easy to use and inexpensive. Friendly people everywhere. English spoken everywhere. Great food and drink. Lots of history and culture to see including artifacts, artworks and pop music. The city itself is clean. I did not spot graffiti anywhere. I did not see trash on the ground. When I was walking around at night, I did not feel unsafe. I had a grand time in Stockholm and look forward to returning one day. This was a great visit! Rare is it for me to project any place outside of the United States that I could see myself making a life for myself within. Stockholm is such a place. THE SETUP I flew in to spend time with friends for a few days, and then to take off on a cruise for seven days, and then returned to Stockholm to finish out my Northern European trek. It was an absolute joy to be here. * Effiicent transportation networks - from the moment touching down at Arlanda airport, the shuttle to the Central Train Station. to the the subway and the buses, I was able to get all throughout Stockholm, including the bus through the government areas that took me all the way to the port to board my cruise ship. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/stockholms-stad-stockholm?select=asSHb5iKUhSqZRxeMUN5qA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * Old Towne Stockholm - this historic district is full of wonderful old buildings. From elegant restaurants serving traditional Swedish meatball platters to full-on Viking or Pirate bars, these hoods were so much fun to romp through and get the feel of walking on streets that are centuries old. * Business-Entertainment District - my buddy John took me to some fun spots in the frenetic downtown districts, including some dance clubs. So MUCH FUN. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/stockholms-stad-stockholm?select=5ru4u1LTVPr4937m7o5Nkg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w BUILDING THE FUTURE Stockholm is also underway with massive construction projects, giving the city new shiny buildings to grow the future of Stockholm with. THE LOWDOWN Stockholm is a great city to spend a day, a week, a month, perhaps even years within. Enjoy the time there!

Well, besides the fact that we didn't take proper measures to get internet during our stay since we relied on our cousins to do that, all I did was check-in to areas with my spotty internet and didn't think of checking in to the actual town. Well, here I am, five months later with a few shots from some of the most beautiful views I captured during my visit to Stockholm. Monteliusvägen is a gorgeous walking area about a quarter-mile long that shows gorgeous views of historic buildings, the glistening water and gorgeous homes and businesses surrounding the area. We arrived to the country at a good time during the summer, although they are known to have sudden changes in the weather in the middle of the day where it'll begin raining with thunderstorms out of nowhere. This day in particular served us well. One of the pictures was taken from the water because my lovely uncle and cousins gave us a tour around the city with their boat. It was a magical experience and I could not stop taking photos. If you visit Sweden and want to avoid the cold, visit during July (when they celebrate Midsommar) or August...just bring an umbrella.
