Located in the trendy Zuid neighborhood of Antwerp, Zurich is a brasserie with a Dutch-only menu and friendly service, offering drinks and classic Belgian dishes in a casual dining room lined with iconic black-and-white floor tiles. My pick from the menu was the mussels in red curry--a huge pot of Goudmerk mussels with a lightly spiced curry broth along with chopped celery, peppers, and onion. I also tried the housemade Stoofvlees, a Flemish beef and onion stew with a thick, viscous sauce made with beer and lightly sweetened with spiced bread. The beef chunks were super tender, and the stew was served with a traditional endive-apple salad, made with a creamy dressing. Though nothing all that unusual, both of these dishes were tasty, and the bread that came on the table was perfect for dipping into the stew and curry broth. read more
