But when you walk in, you really walk in this speakeasy-like restaurant with a nice filled bar! Me likey! I can't talk about the food but I'll definitely try it some day (it's in my list for restaurants to try), but everything looked very good from what I saw. We sat at this amazing bar and talked to the owner, Jurgen. We were talking about that we had wine all evening and that we would like something in that line. He sat he'll hook us up and boy did he! He made us an amazing Hendricks Gin and Rosewater tonic with dash of magic. A great cocktail which indeed was a perfect ending for an evening. But knowing myself, I can't stand on one leg so I ordered another cocktail but this time rum based. I was happy to get one without coke for once. Don't get me wrong, I like coke and rum but sometimes you have to open up for new things. Again the owner made us a Mount Gay rum with Fever Tree Ginger Ale. Wow, I think I found myself a new drink. I had a great dinner, great food and a great night. Unfortunately... I was a bit surprised when the bill came. The cocktails were really good but I would have preferred to pay less than 15 to 16 EUR a piece for it. especially know that there were only 2 drinks in there. All by all, a must try place!

Despite the name, this place is a nice restaurant - not a snack place as side of wine. We took the tasting menu and we went traveling from one surprise to another: salad with baby lobster with a foam with old rhum, pigeon as a main course and 2 lovely dessert: one with raspberries, one revised foret noire. All great and nothing at all to complain. The place is stylish and I should really go back to test their gin collection. But that will be a new adventure!

I had the chicken and hummus "toast" which is thick-cut, fresh bread lightly toasted and piled high with fresh grilled chicken, hummus, salad, pickled veg (which I swapped for seasonal veg). My husband had the roast beef toast with similar ingredients save for the meat. It was tasty but required deconstructing and eating with knife and fork ... and I kept getting distracted by the quinoa salads topped with goat's cheese that came out and looked yummy (and were most popular). There was also a quinoa base quiche that looked lovely and sold out fast. Service was friendly but took some time (just down to being busy not necessarily inefficiency or lack of trying). Good selection of local beers and Belgium based juices and teas, and wine and cocktails too. Focus on local, healthier options including alternatives to meat and grains, and on the more expensive side as these types of cafes tend to be: our bill was €38 for two sandwiches, a soup of the day, a beer and a juice
